“How could it seem like so much is going wrong?”
“Everywhere I look, it just seems like a bad Monday morning.”
In retrospect, it may not be the trial or the challenge needing our attention. It could very well be God’s grace trying to get your attention.
Now, what I’m about to share isn’t a proposal I’m stamping upon every bad day, tragedy or natural disaster. I do, however, humbly offer the notion, to ponder what lies hidden in the golden lines of Scripture and its already established wisdom. Let’s unpack what the Word says.
Your Heart Is a Mirror
What we see and how we perceive is through the eyes of our hearts. The circumference of our life’s outlook drops a plumb line for our heart’s entry.
Proverbs 27:19 states, “As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.”
The definition of reflection is the throwing back of a substance by surface of light, body, heat or sound without ever absorbing it.
It’s a bounce-back effect. Someone who leans their face over a still body of water will notice their own image appear back at them. The heart is just the same. Your and my life reflects what we carry, feel and even believe inside our hearts. The heart holds full capacity to see, mediate, ponder and think.
Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he”
Our heart holds the tangible mainframe of a consciousness and establishes our perspectives.
If one doubts and comes under the agreements of beliefs outside of abundant life, he sees limits, impossibility and mountains.
We see this in Mark 11:22-23 (NIV) as Jesus left the money changers in the temple. Peter called to his remembrance the fig tree Jesus cursed and caused to wither. “‘Have faith in God,’ Jesus answered. ‘Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, “Go, throw yourself into the sea,” and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”
What we believe in our hearts is what we shall see. What a daily eye-opener!
Ephesians 1:18a says, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you.”
Hope and receiving hope, believing with hope, makes us clear! Choosing hope’s entrance point awakens us into right heavenly alignment—alignment for abundant living and seeing! Anything opposite dims our hearts’ eyes and skews our truthful perception.
We can acknowledge now the extreme importance of guarding the life of our heart and what flows in and out of it.
Today, I pray for the reader and listener, that the abundance of heaven will infiltrate your heart’s chambers and out from it will flow the wellsprings of life. Every tucked away space guarded by self-protection and fear be loosed now and set into freedom. May your heart’s portion today and in all eternity become new and refreshed for days ahead. Be blessed always upon your rising and sitting down, never looking back again.
