Author Nancy Guthrie says heaven is about more than seeing our loved ones again: The best part about it is being able to see Jesus face to face and be in His presence at all times.
“Sometimes I think heaven gets talked about only in terms of seeing those we love who have gone before, and we value that,” Guthrie says. ” … I’m not much on people writing books or talking about their experiences and who say they’ve been to heaven, but there [are] five people I will trust in the Bible. I’ll trust Isaiah, I’ll trust Paul, I’ll trust John and I’ll trust Ezekiel.
“These are testimonies of having seen into the reality of heaven, so what they focus on is what really excites my heart about heaven because all of them focus on a throne. And someone’s seated on the throne of the universe. … What the Bible sets before us is this joy we’re going to have at being in [Jesus’] presence and seeing Him face to face.”
