In “Warlike,” the band channels Old Testament prophets, expressing righteous anger at the American church’s refusal to take global injustice seriously—which grieves the Spirit. At one point, lead singer David Zach challenges, “You can’t take the prophets out of context / You can’t love mercy if you love conquest.”
