Regie Hamm has written some of today’s most recognizable songs, including “I Surrender All,” “Gather at the River” and “Mighty Love.” He also entered the finale songwriting contest for American Idol 2008. Winner David Cook recorded Hamm’s winning song, “This Is My Time.” But the singer-songwriter has gone through quite a journey professionally and personally. In his recent book, Angels and Idols, he shares his story of the “rise, fall and redemption of a would-be pop star.”
