Having sold more than 11 million records worldwide, Hillsong Live continues to bring worship music to a powerful yet intimate level on its 19th recording, A Beautiful Exchange, which is set to release June 29.
The 12 new songs, with lyrics of hope, peace and unity in Jesus Christ, will inspire longtime Hillsong Live fans, as well as new listeners.
“So often I feel like I come to God, and I’ve got nothing, but when I feel like there is no good in me, no joy in me, no peace-He is peace, He is joy, He is our salvation,” said Hillsong Live’s Reuben Morgan.
Morgan, along with Jason Ingram, co-wrote the recording’s first radio single, “Forever Reign,” reminding people that God is “life when the darkness closes in,” and His embrace will always be enough.
In the title track, “A Beautiful Exchange,” Jesus’ sacrifice is the focus. It’s easy to get lost and found in the words: “When only love could make a way / You gave Your life in a beautiful exchange.”
Those who also watch the DVD of the live recording will feel a nearness, as if they were worshipping with others in the Sydney Entertainment Centre, where the songs were taped.
