Why did God allow 2020 to happen?

It’s a question that has been burning in the minds of many people for the past four years. After experiencing a pandemic, economic turmoil and a rocky change of executive power, it can leave someone to wonder what exactly was going on behind the spiritual scenes during these events.

In a prophetic message, YouTuber Troy Black gave a word about the reason why the Lord decided to allow the chaos that occurred in 2020 to happen.

On Mar. 16, Black heard the Lord say, “I knew what I was doing when I allowed the nation to go one direction in 2020. It wasn’t good for the nation—what happened. But it was necessary. Why, my people, do you think I reward injustice?”

If that wasn’t enough of a warning, Black continued on with the following:

“Before you look out at the culture, look to the log in your own eye. Look to the freedom you are refusing to walk in by the Spirit…infighting and injustice. That is what’s happening and what has been happening. If you will learn to love with the love of Christ, not overlooking sin, but loving despite one’s differences of opinion when it comes to secondary issues, then my freedom can manifest across a body in desperate need of restoration.”

This word hits particularly strong because of Black’s sentiments that Christians especially have been striving to be correct about everything. However, like all humans, we do not know everything and we cannot control everything. Instead, God is looking for us to be obedient to Him even when we do not understand everything happening around us.

“Leave the arrogance at the door and come into my throne room and worship, and then go out in freedom, ready to set the captives free again,” Black prophesied.

Instead of worrying about who is politically accurate or focusing on non-salvation issues, it is the job of Christians to join together to bring the gospel forth to the nations.

“You don’t have to be right; you just have to move ahead in the victory I won for you,” Black prophesied.

This is the time for Christians to humbly turn toward Jesus in repentance and unite to make sure that the main mission of our lives is completed: serving the Great Commission to see the Gospel spread to the ends of the earth.
