Recently more sightings of the proclaimed “Doomsday fish” were caught on camera off of the coast of the Canary Islands in the Atlantic and near Mexico’s shoreline of Baja California. With sightings of these thin, ribbon-like oarfish emerging, could it mean something more for us as we proceed through the end times?

While the Bible does not specifically mention oarfish, it does speak of signs in nature that will precede Christ’s return. These creatures, which typically dwell thousands of feet below the ocean’s surface, have long been associated with seismic activity, fueling concerns of impending disasters. But could these unsettling events be more than just coincidences?
Romans 8:22 reminds us that “the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.” The earth itself is crying out, reflecting the growing turmoil and spiritual unrest as we move closer to the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.
In his prophetic warning for 2025, Perry Stone urged Christians to look for disaster to strike “…on the coastal areas.” While the fish themselves are a bit more of a strange marvel than a disaster, they just may be a warning sign of things still to come this year.
These moments should serve as a divine wake-up call—a reminder that the time for repentance and revival is now.
