Randy Simpkins (Dean Cain) is a man struggling to balance
work and family. An incident in his life changes him forever. One day, while working
outside and keeping an eye on his 2-year-old son, Joe, Randy gets distracted
for just a moment and Joe disappears. The situation escalates into a full-blown
search. Randy and his wife, Christal (Lori Beth Edgeman), begin their frantic
search in the rural area. Church and community members also gather to pray and
look for Joe. The couple, whose relationship is already strained, is facing the
biggest challenge of their lives.
The Way Home is more than just a story about the
search for a missing boy. It also chronicles Randy’s powerful spiritual journey
back to faith and it demonstrates how he gained a new understanding of his
priorities as a husband and father.
