In the Old Testament, they called God “The Lord of Armies.” David said that the Lord “trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle” (Ps. 144:1b, NIV).
Jesus Christ left the church here to finish His mission, to be armed and dangerous—a spiritual warfare church, a kingdom that will not be shaken, moved or compromised. We are called to be the bride, the body and the army. As I often tell people, instead of stiletto heels, the bride must wear combat boots.
Many of us love to talk about spiritual warfare, but we don’t confront the enemy. We would rather live a life in masquerade, putting makeup on our pain, dressing up and putting on a smile and having our Christian language ready to go. But when we do this, we walk around fragmented, hopeless and defeated.
We are living in a time of demonic fears on every level in society and in our culture. Learning how to pray fire prayers will teach you to deal with this kind of demonic torment, not only to destroy it completely but to stop fear in your spirit, your mind, your heart, your words and in your thinking. That is how you become more than a conqueror in Christ.

Knowing the truth will set you free. In fact, the truth is God’s No. 1 weapon. The devil’s weapon is false reality. These two weapons are wielded parallel to each other. We need to have great discernment so we know how to stand with the Lord Jesus Christ.
I want to equip you to pray violent, effective prayers to make the devil nervous and defeat him in his own spiritual battlefield—in other words, to pray with courage, faith and boldness. The devil wants you to pray with fear, doubt and unbelief. When we pray fire prayers, we pray with the answer—we don’t pray with the question mark.

We often aim and shoot in the spirit realm, but we miss our spiritual target. We miss the moment to destroy the works of darkness in and through our lives.
Fasting is another powerful weapon. Its purpose is not only to help us hear from the Lord—we should already know His voice—but also to dissolve and uproot every hindrance from our outer man, or carnal flesh, that the devil seeks to use against us. I have bad news for him: I’m coming at you with my fasting weapons, and I’m going to run you over in Jesus’ mighty name.

I love the story of the seven sons of Sceva (Acts 19:11-20). I know they needed the tools I teach because the demon said to them, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?” (v. 15b, MEV). God has called us to live on the side of victory. He did not call us to be chicken-coop Christians; He called us to be eagles. The apostle Paul knew spiritual warfare at its best.
