Are You Seeking God’s Face or God’s Hand in These Last Days?

Desperate cries for sustainable revival and transforming awakening are filling the atmosphere of heaven. The body of Christ is finally beginning to cry out for a move of God that is not isolated to one geographical location driven only by a select few ministry personalities but is transferable from city to city, region to region and ultimately transforms entire nations of the earth. The superstar, rockstar, “look at me” ministry is dead and has been eclipsed by the rising remnant, a nameless and faceless generation of contenders for revival who refuse to steal God’s glory.

Isaiah 42:8 says, “I am the Lord, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images.”

First Corinthians 1:27-29 says, “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. And God has chosen the base things of the world and things which are despised. Yes, and He chose things which did not exist to bring to nothing things that do, so that no flesh should boast in His presence.”

As we contend for revival and awakening in America and across nations of the earth, we must safeguard ourselves against seeking the hand of God instead of the face of God. Many have fallen in love with the call of God instead of Christ, power instead of the promised Holy Spirit, prophecy instead of Jesus the prophet, revival instead of the reviver King Jesus! We must be certain that we do not lose our first love by seeking His hand and not His face. Allow me to remind you of these pertinent Scriptures in the Word of God. There is no Word more sure than the Word of God itself in the last days.

Psalm 27:8 says, “When You said, “Seek My face, my heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”

Revelation 2:4-5 says, “But I have something against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen. Repent, and do the works you did at first, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your candlestick from its place, unless you repent.”

Matthew 7:21-23 says, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonderful works in Your name?’ But then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from Me, you who practice evil.'”

One of the most frightening things about contending for revival is when the enemy subtlety shifts the focus of the church to be in pursuit of what God can do instead of who He is. It can be dangerous to forget the greatest miracle that has ever happened to you was when He snatched your soul from the fiery flames of hell and set your feet upon the rock. You cannot forget that Christ made you a new creation, and the old things passed away. Your name was written in the Lamb’s Book of Life! The blood of Jesus Christ gave you the spiritual legal authority to come boldly into His throne room of grace to seek His face. I charge you in the name of Jesus Christ in the last days to keep your eyes on the King of glory and do not allow the power of what He can do to shift your focus from who He is. What God has already done in your life is worthy of you pausing to praise Him right now!
