God Uses His Spirit to Work Miracles In and Through You

Do you long to see God work more miracles among you? Are you desperate to see all that God has promised you through His Son Jesus? Beloved, God is not withholding from you in any way, shape or form! He has already demonstrated to you His desire in the person and work of Jesus Christ! Could it be that you are suffering from a lack of belief caused by hearing a gospel that has mixed the law of Moses and the grace of Jesus Christ?

God is not slack concerning His promises; He gave the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost to those who believe. The Bible states believers will cast out demons; they will demonstrate the power of God through the healing of the sick for the laying on of hands; and they will do all that God has promised. The apostle Paul talks about the crisis of faith that the Galatian believers suffered due to hearing a mixed gospel taught by false teachers who infiltrated the church.

In Galatians 3:5, Paul asks, “Does God give you the Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by hearing with faith?”

I ask you today: Does God give you His Spirit and work miracles among you based on your goodness or His?

Do you now wish to go back under the law after starting and receiving the Holy Spirit? Do you now wish to go back under the law for justification? No. God has now given us all weapons of righteousness—one in the right hand, and one in the left—but the working of miracles comes by knowing that God has done a good and perfect work through Jesus Christ. We simply receive the work of the Son, Jesus, by faith.

Jesus has made you righteous; Jesus has given you all that you need to prosper through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Paul speaks to the Galatians in the third chapter:

And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel in advance to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” So then those who are of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. For all who rely on the works of the law are under the curse. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the Book of the Law, to do them” (Gal. 3:8-10).

Clearly, according to God, no one is justified before Him by the observance of the law because the righteous will live by faith.

He speaks to the believers in Galatia, who once heard the gospel of Jesus Christ—the gospel of the grace of the Son of God—who have now turned their backs on Him, mixing the gospel of Jesus Christ with the law, which Paul declares is no gospel at all. (See Galatians 1:6-10.)

Paul goes on to address the Galatian church. Galatians 1:11-14 (NIV) reads:

I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

Paul’s zeal for the law was unmatchable, yet the grace of Jesus Christ consumed the apostle with something the law never afforded Paul, the Holy Spirit. The power of the spirit works through righteousness. Paul was zealous for God but not according to knowledge. He was a persecutor of the early church, a murderer too. But the grace of Christ overwhelmed the man’s zeal with a new purpose, to bring life where only death existed. The law given on Mount Sinai killed 3,000, but the Spirit given on the day of Pentecost saved 3,000 people.

The grace of God is so powerful that it can turn the worst sinner into the most powerful saint because it is totally unmerited. Where sin abounds, grace even more abounds (Rom. 5:20). {eoa}
