As Nordin puts it, “These are ordinary people with extraordinary needs.”

The encouraging stories drive home the importance of prayer, as many of us tend to approach prayer as a last resort instead of a daily habit. They’re true stories told by everyday people who are flawed, have doubts and get angry with God.

But the book isn’t about the people; it’s about letting go of expectations, praying in earnest and allowing God to answer prayers—His way. While some may debate whether the stories reflect true miracles, the fact remains that each event happened outside human understanding. The word miracle is not synonymous with instantaneous, as much as we wish it was. Many of the profiled individuals had to wait long periods to see their prayers answered, and sometimes they were disappointed with the answer they received.
