Prophecy: God Is Weeping Over Our Spiritual Condition

Recently, I ventured out for a daily prayer walk in a fine mist rain. At the end of that walk, I heard in my spirit, these are God’s tears. I sensed that the waters we see and the volume of rains covering many places these days are indicative of the sorrow God is experiencing over our land, over the world.

I sensed strongly that God is weeping and grieving over the violence, lawlessness, Godlessness and compromise in the world today. Remember, even “Jesus wept” (John 11:35).

I got the sense He was particularly sad over the condition of His body on the earth. I found myself wondering at this point if He had reached the level of sorrow that He had after man fell, and darkness and debauchery covered the earth, in the days of Noah. God pronounced that He was sorry that He had made man (Gen. 6:6).

I felt sad that, with all God had done, and has done and is doing, it seems as though we as a people have been caught up in the horizontal. We have lost our kingdom mentality. Although we are sojourners on this planet, we have become worshippers and lovers of things, money, ourselves and not of other people. In all of this, His love relentlessly pursues us. I wonder if Jesus experiences rejection.

I found myself asking God for forgiveness for not only areas in my life that have disappointed Him, but on behalf of the human race at large and for those making Him weep. I got the sense that seeing those who call themselves His who were not walking in truth and light was the major source of His tears.

When I see others crying, I want to wipe away their tears. We need to be light in this dark world, experience His joy and be a joy to Him in every area of our lives. Shouldn’t we want to wipe His tears with repentance and return back to our first love?

Lord, let us take seriously Your heart and seek You and repent from our wicked ways, and live solely and wholly for You. Let us return to our first love: You. Let obedience be our hallmark, and bring holiness back as the standard.

Father, we are sorry, and want to wipe Your tears away with lives that represent truly who You are. More of You, Lord, and less of us. Bring Your church back to its roots and unity as never before. Let Your light shine in us so that when we are seen, what is visible to this world is You!

“For His anger endures but a moment, in His favor is life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” (Ps. 30:5).

We want to be sons that shine for You. Amen. {eoa}
