Is the Ezekiel 38 Prophecy Coming to Pass?

In his latest message, Pastor Jack Hibbs explained how the Ezekiel 38 prophecy is happening right in front of our eyes, and how we are one step closer to the end of time.

“Right now, people are on edge about the nation of Israel,” Hibbs says. “The wars, the rumors of wars, the issue with Russia now amassing just north of Israel in the Syrian border and the issue of Lebanon and how attacks are coming,”

“…unless the Lord removes you and I in what’s called the rapture, it is becoming very evident that we could very well see the book of Ezekiel chapter 38 opening up and starting very, very soon,” Hibbs continues.

Hibbs explains how Ezekiel 38 is the part of Scripture which tells us that God will destroy the armies of Persia, Iran and Libya, with Gog from the land of Magog as the leader. This represents modern-day Russia.  However, Israel will ultimately defeat their enemies.

“The Bible’s very clear, it says God will intervene. They will be totally destroyed in the mountains of Israel, and Israel will begin to believe,” Hibbs says.

Ezekiel 38:15-16 reads:

“And you shall come from your place out of the north parts, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army. And you shall come up against My people of Israel as a cloud to cover the land. It shall come about in the latter days that I will bring you against My land so that nations may know Me when I shall be sanctified in you, O Gog, before their eyes.”

The war of Ezekiel 38 is clearly one for God to demonstrate His mighty hand as the Lord over all. Israel is still His chosen nation, and to make them victors over larger, well-equipped nations would be proof to the world that He is with them even to this day.

“Something’s going to happen where it looks as though Israel cannot win,” Hibbs says.

Yet, God will work in a way that the enemies of Israel will have their plots fall back on them, leading to their destruction in Israel’s mountains. While things in our current day and age could change especially concerning wars, Hibbs believes this isn’t likely. Instead, the hallmarks exist of this being the time of Israel’s rise.

As we draw near the end, we can expect that continued wars and rumors of wars will increase as we see the unfolding of Scripture play out in front of our eyes.
