Work the Word

“My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands; For length of days and long life and peace they will add to you” (Prov. 3:1-2, NKJV).

God’s Word is so powerful. His living Word is life-giving and life-changing. God’s Word reveals God’s world. When we understand what God says, we comprehend who He is. Everything documented in the Bible has a purpose. There are no idle sentences. Pointless phrases do not exist in the Creator’s vocabulary. These Holy Scriptures are the means to a long, peaceful life.

Anxiety, fear, stress, worry—freedom from that perpetual knot in your stomach and tension headache are available and accessible to you through the knowledge of the Word of God. When the Holy Spirit reveals the things of God through His written Word, we become empowered. Our understanding becomes more than a theological education; we are filled with wisdom of application, timing and insight. Coupled with enemy-destroying might, those roughly 770,430 words (NKJV) are your entire toolbox but you must properly use the right tool for the right job.

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does” (James 1:22-25). {eoa}
