We need to have perspective on how we align ourselves to better hear His voice. How do we position ourselves to rightly receive the promises of God, either the ones already here or spoken prophetically? How many of us have ever had a prophetic word given to us over our life? Do we steward those words that have been given to us?
If you’ve read the Bible, you’ve had the prophetic word spoken over your life because it’s the living Word. It’s the spoken, breathed Word of God, and if you’ve read it, you’ve actually received a promise from God that has a prophetic destiny over you.
In Luke 19, we read the story of Zacchaeus positioning himself within a sycamore tree to see Jesus. This message gives us perspective from the season that we are currently encountering, with insight on how we can position ourselves to rightly receive the promises of God. Just like Zacchaeus, we look to Jesus, who is the only one who can truly transform our lives. Some are just content to be part of the crowd.
We want to see Him, but we also want to be seen by Him to have that eye-to-eye, face-to-face encounter with the Lord. Zacchaeus wanted to recognize Him, and he wanted to be recognized by Jesus. So he ran ahead and climbed up in the sycamore tree.
Some people allow their circumstances to prevent them from seeing the Lord. Even though there may be crowds around us or things obstructing our view, we can still find Jesus when we change our position.
