Whether you were raised in the church and never knew a day without the love of Christ, or you had a radical change of heart and miraculously chose to follow Jesus, Christ-followers know we are called to live a life set apart. A recent episode of The Kingdom Ready podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network will ask if you’re truly living this kind of life.
Pastor Todd Smith, senior pastor of Christ Fellowship Church of Dawsonville, Georgia, reflects on his walk with Christ and asks a poignant question: “What does my life look like since the moment I gave my life to Jesus and decided to be a Christ-follower?”
This is a question that should cause us to look back on our lives and wonder what, if any, impact we’ve had on the world around us. For as Smith notes, “There comes a responsibility with your salvation.”
“I feel that we’re going to see Him and all of His glory, all of His majesty in full purity, holiness, splendor,” Smith says. “And at that moment when we see Him, if we were sloppy, if we were unconcerned, self-absorbed, living our lives for ourselves and really unconcerned about advancing the kingdom, that when we stand before Him, we can be ashamed.
“One day, you and I are going to stand before Him. We’re going to have to give an account of our lives,” he said. “Will you hear, ‘well done, good and faithful servant,’ or ‘depart from me, for I did not know you'”? {eoa}
