Find Spiritual Intimacy and Victory in Battle by Following the Butterfly’s Lead

There is newfound oneness and freedom in applying our love for Jesus to the battle we face in our minds. In the spirit realm and in our physical world, there is absolute power in His name. This is why the victory is so easily won in the name of Jesus.

A study of Scripture in the Gospels and Acts shows that demons flee when confronted by Jesus. They fear Him and must obey Him. Jesus has given us His authority and power to use His name.

The first miracle healing in Acts is when Peter uses Jesus’ name to heal the crippled beggar at the temple. He rises up to walk for the first time in his life. He leaps and praises God for his healing.

Time and again in Acts, Jesus’ name is used to deliver demon possessed people, to heal people and to bring the lost to salvation. In the Gospels, the very person of Jesus and His commands causes demons to run over cliffs and to loosen the bondage they have imposed on people.

I actually find it quite remarkable how easily the very thought of Jesus, His name and my love for Him drives away temptations, compulsive or obsessive thoughts. The battle is hardly a battle anymore.

My desire is to see His people set free from the torment and agonies of this war between the flesh and the spirit that wages in the mind.

There is such joy and peace in this newfound freedom that I cannot help but share this revelation. I do not want to see you suffer. To get to this level of freedom will be a battle, but once achieved, the day-to-day division can be gone. The oneness we were created to have in the image of God is beautiful and beyond our understanding. (Yes, this inner division can be conquered, but it will never cease to stop trying to assert itself until we receive our resurrected bodies.)

I call this process of gaining our freedom the butterfly effect. When the newborn butterfly is still in its cocoon, it labors to free itself from the confines of the cocoon. It uses its wings to break open the cocoon in order to soar upward to a new life.

If a kind person tries to free the butterfly in its struggle and then does so, the butterfly will die because it was not allowed to struggle. In its struggle, it develops the power in its wings to fly. If there is no struggle, it will not achieve the ability to soar and to live as it was created.

When I was struggling to gain the victory of oneness in my mind, I cried out to God, asking why this was such a hard fight. The Spirit spoke to me of this butterfly effect. I realized that in the mystery of God for me, I needed to work through to victory because it taught me my need to express how much I loved Jesus, to bring that love from the concept to practical application.

Do not give up in your struggles. Keep knocking. Keep asking. Keep seeking. The door will be opened to you. There is power in the name of Jesus when you learn how much you love Him and then properly apply the authority and power you have in His name. The freedom and oneness is glorious. Believe and act upon your love and faith, and the gift of His oneness is yours.
