Is Former President Trump a True Believer in the Power of Prayer?

Former President Donald Trump asked his longtime friend and adviser Roger Stone to pray in a personal phone call recently as Stone was on his way to the Ft. Lauderdale-based Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, which was founded by D. James Kennedy and dedicated by Billy Graham.

Stone revealed the details of Trump’s prayer request in an interview he did this week on investigative journalist Laura Loomer’s new show, “Loomer Unleashed,” exclusively on Rumble.

Stone says, “The story is quite simple. About a month and a half ago, I was leaving for church on a Sunday morning. I had called President Trump the night before, but I missed him. I left a message. He was returning my call Sunday morning. He said, ‘Is this a good time?’ I said, ‘Not really. I am walking out the door to church. Can I call you back this afternoon?’”

Stone figured Trump would hang up immediately, but he didn’t. “[Trump] said, ‘You’re going to church? Right now?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘Could we pray together for a moment then?’”

This was Trump asking for prayer.

“I wouldn’t say I was shocked, but I was a little surprised. I said, ‘Sure.’ He then said to me, ‘You lead off.’ Then I said a few words of prayer. He said ‘Amen.’ He said he’d call me in the afternoon. Now, that’s an absolutely true story.”

Given all of the persecution, political and otherwise, that has come down harshly on Trump this year, it should not be a surprise that the 45th president of the United States would make a prayer request.

This also shows that Trump may be humbling himself before the Lord in private, despite what many people deem his larger-than-life, bombastic style of communication and perceived self-aggrandizement, as well as “mean tweets.” God sees the heart of the man.

Stone believes Trump is a true believer in Christ. Trump honors the Lord.

“I don’t know how anyone could be president of the United States and not feel the weight of that responsibility and not turn to the Lord,” says Stone. “Lincoln has written about it extensively. Theodore Roosevelt wrote about it extensively. Dwight Eisenhower was baptized in the White House, was rebaptized in the White House because of the weight of the office [of the presidency of the United States]. Dwight Eisenhower was not known as a deeply religious man.”

Regarding Trump, Stone concludes, “I believe the president is a believer. His courage continues to amaze me.”

In response to Stone’s first sharing this story, people who claim to be Christians have attacked the sincerity of Trump’s faith in Christ and maligned Stone himself.

“I am certainly taking a beating for it in social media with all these phony leftist Christians,” he claims. “By the way, ‘Judge not, lest ye be judged.’ Who is to say only you can interpret the Word of the Lord?”

Stone, who has worked on multiple presidential campaigns over five decades, received a full presidential pardon before Trump left the White House. Stone was the victim of political persecution at the hands of the Democrats. He spent time in jail, but God used the adversity to lead him to a spiritual revelation. In 2020, Stone announced publicly that he had given his life to Christ and was a born-again Christian.

It was Jesus Christ who gave our President Donald Trump the courage and the compassion to save my life when I was unfairly and illegally targeted,” Stone said at the time.

Although thousands of leftists, including self-proclaimed Christians who have been indoctrinated (knowingly or unknowingly) by leftist ideology under the guise of social justice, vehemently reject Stone, the brothers and sisters in Christ at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale have accepted and embraced Trump’s longtime friend and ally.

Unashamed of his faith in Jesus and aware that it’s a journey of faith, Stone says about his church home, “It’s a very dynamic, vibrant church, a place where I feel very welcome.”

Stone also affirmed that, like Paul in the Bible, Trump is ready to continue on the mission God put him, even if he has to do it from prison, due to the political persecution and weaponization of the U.S. legal system. Trump’s heart is to sacrifice for the good of America and future generations.

“He said, if he has to run for reelection from prison, he will do so,” says Stone, basing it on his own conversation with President Trump. “If they are going to incarcerate him, he is prepared for that, mentally. That shows tremendous courage on his part. I don’t think that is unlikely. I believe they are now lying in wait.”

But he also believes God has a bigger plan with Trump. God is not done using Trump for His purposes. Those so-called Christians who cannot forgive Trump because they have been offended by something he said or did may find themselves on the wrong side of God’s bigger plan to use Trump to bring the Third Great Awakening to America between 2024 and 2028.

God has a history of using one man—a man who seems “unqualified” (Abraham, Moses, Samson, Elijah, and Paul, who had the Road to Damascus experience—to change the world for the better.
