I love the truth. I mean I really love Him. Jesus is so very awesome and He, Himself is truth. So often we reduce truth to a fact, or principle, but truth is a person. As we love and get to know truth, He reveals all kinds of things to us creatures called men.
I realize most of us think Jesus limits Himself just to biblical truth, creating and wisdom, but I believe He reveals all kinds of things to men and women. He is the author of medical, scientific and even technical truths. The devil doesn’t want even one area of your life to improve, but Jesus desires that all of your life would prosper.
I really believe Jesus wants and desires every man reading these pages to not only get sexually clean, but stay sexually clean, and have an awesome sex life with the bride He has given him, or will give him. Can you say amen to a God who wants all the very best for us?
I want you to really know the heart of our God. He is 100 percent for you. He loves you as a person, as a man and as His favored son. He desires every binding chain, be they sexual or non-sexual, to be totally broken from your life, and for you to be clean and completely free.
So, if our Father’s desire is for our total freedom, why are so many men trapped? I have the answer, and for me it has been years in the discovery. I, like some of the men reading these pages, was as saved as I could be, yet still trapped. I was in Bible school, fully sexually addicted. I tried, cried, fasted, prayed, memorized Scripture, but still I would fail again and again.
Why? Because, I didn’t understand a simple truth. What I was doing was applying something I learned and memorized from the Book of 1 John. Over the years of counseling men, I realized I wasn’t the only one who memorized this Scripture and tried to apply it. I realize now that I was totally uninformed of another biblical truth, and honestly, although somewhat ineffective, it was helping me feel a little better.
Let me tell you about the Scripture and how I was whole-heartedly trying to apply it to get clean, but wasn’t unable to. The Scripture is 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
As a Bible school student, I was confessing up a storm. I went to Jesus, sometimes more than once a day, confessing my lust and sexual sin, and do you know what happened every time? He forgave me. I know that I know that I was forgiven. Many times I could feel and experience His forgiveness of that particular sin. I know I felt forgiveness and His cleansing me of that particular impurity.
I really believe in the blood of Jesus. His blood is greater than any sin, be it sexual or other. His blood is not only greater than my sins, my family’s, city’s or nation’s sins, but His blood is more powerful than all the nations of all time, past, present and future. That’s how powerful His blood is. He has overcome all sin through His blood.
I am astonished by how many Christians honestly have more faith in their sin than in the blood to forgive the sin. I see people trapped repeatedly in thinking and believing that their sin is somehow so special it nullifies the power of His blood.
If you are trapped into believing your sin is that special, let me tell you, it’s not. Your sin is not special or powerful. His blood paid the full price for any and all sins, whether sexual or not. I strongly encourage men to believe in the blood, not in their sin.
