Men, Shake the Gates of Hell

Men, our walls are broken down. The shameful sins once performed in secret are now exalted in prime time.

Every sinew in the body of Christ is straining under the weight of “wicked problems” like the fiscal cliff, abortion, the definition of marriage, children born out of wedlock, pornography, every manner of sexual immorality, corruption, fraud, poverty, divorce, fatherlessness, and scores of other moral crises. We have exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and the glory of God for idols.

But men, God is not sitting around wringing His hands over whether the United States will sink under the weight of our idolatry and wickedness. God is right now laying the groundwork for a massive revival, awakening, and reformation. Churches everywhere are waking to the urgent need to disciple men. But many don’t know what to do. They’re looking for reliable answers—proven models, best practices, and resources.

Brothers, God could rebuild our walls with a snap of His fingers. But that’s not how God works. Instead, He always sends a man—a man like Martin Luther, who in the short span of 40 years, saw 50 percent of the churches in Europe become Protestant. That can happen here.

That’s why God wants to send YOU to do something about it. Men, I’m not about to sit around and watch the new Philistines burn down the rest of what our fathers fought so hard to build, and I don’t think you are either. God has called us to a powerful vision for every church to disciple every man. God is now raising up legions of men to wage the war for men’s souls.

As John Wesley said, “Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but God, hate nothing but sin, and are determined to know nothing except Christ and Him crucified, and I care not a straw whether they be clergymen or laymen, such alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of heaven on earth.”
