Students shouting, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” seem to think Hamas is a democratic national liberation movement.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Hamas was founded in 1987 as an Islamist political organization designed to drive Jews and other non-Islamists away from Palestine and expand its rule over the Middle East. The Hamas charter specifically calls for all Jews to be murdered. In 2015, its leader Khaled Mashal said, “There is no peace. Only the path of Jihad, sacrifice, and blood.”

Hamas came to power in Gaza through a rigged election and eliminated its Palestinian political opposition through murder and intimidation. The people of Gaza live in a police state, much like those in the West Bank, Iran and now Afghanistan. International aid to the long-suffering population is funneled to Hamas to support its military and create extensive underground fortifications. Hamas builds these fortifications under hospitals, schools and other civilian areas because it s knows Israel will try to avoid civilian casualties. As a bonus, when the civilians they hide behind inevitably do get killed, Hamas and its supporters plead for a ceasefire to allow the terrorists to rearm and regroup.
The amazing thing about the students demonstrating across America is their complete ignorance of the anti-democratic, bigoted, misogynistic organization they support. Compare Hamas to Israel:
