Look within your heart and honestly assess the state of your trust in the Word of the Lord. This hour of history is too important.
God is speaking clearly! Are you taking Him at His Word or believing in what your circumstances are telling you?
Hebrews 3:16-19 (NLT) says, “And who was it who rebelled against God, even though they heard his voice? Wasn’t it the people Moses led out of Egypt? And who made God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it the people who sinned, whose corpses lay in the wilderness? And to whom was God speaking when he took an oath that they would never enter his rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed him? So, we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest.”
The Lord began to stir my heart for those in the body of Christ who are carrying unbelief. This unbelief will send you straight to hell if you hold on to it. You cannot separate God from His voice. Jesus said, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27).
Moses led an entire nation out of slavery and out of Egypt. In the moment, the people were overwhelmed with excitement and celebrated God’s dynamic and resounding victory. Yet within moments the nation again turned their hearts from God’s deliverance from slavery to their unbelief that He actually had a plan to bring them into His promises. They literally witnessed with their very eyes fire falling from heaven, an ocean splitting, and the very people that enslaved them being completely wiped off the face of the planet.
Despite all this, the Israelites’ lack of trust in God and His leadership in their lives began to fill their hearts. Their weighty words of constant complaining flowed from their hearts to their mouths, filling the atmosphere with unbelief. Before they knew it, they were drowning in an ocean of it. This very skepticism caused them to die a slow death in a desert of slavery, bound by the very chains of their own doubt. Even in the midst of this wilderness of their own created chains, God miraculously provided for their every daily need.
Perhaps you’d join me in thinking the children of Israel would eventually realize their mistake, repent, ask for mercy and believe in the very God who set them free. It never happened, though! They literally walked in a circle for 40 years until they breathed their last breath.
I don’t know who is reading this today or how you came across these words. But hear me: Repent! May we all cry out as the father did in Mark 9:24: “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!” Their unbelief and its resulting disobedience led the Israelites to unfulfilled destiny and promises never attained.
As we live in the 11th hour before the return of the Lord, things are accelerating at an unprecedented rate. Many have turned their ears to find what their “itching ears want to hear” (2 Tim. 4:3) through the false prophets that have filled our airwaves, news stations, political speeches, pulpits and social platforms. Through all the noise, it looks like the people of Israel after their tremendous victory of coming out of their bondage of slavery to Pharaoh and the Egyptians.
Although things have seemed promising for a time, many have once again found themselves on the doorsteps of unbelief as we officially enter into a recession, gas prices soar to record highs, retirement accounts plunge, wars continue to rage on, supply chain issues and food shortages continue, health officials research the next mysterious disease and politicians continue their endless debates.
Turn the other voices off! What is God saying right now? How can your love for Him shine through with obedience to His voice in this hour of history?
It may seem simple, but are you as eager to hear His precious voice as you are all the other opinions that are out there? God is speaking, and He is speaking clearly. He has spoken incredible promises forth, and they will happen! You can count on them. You can cash those checks and take His promises to the bank!
God’s promises include the following, just to name a few:
- He will “pour out [His] Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams” (Acts 2:17).
- He will “never leave [us] nor forsake [us]” (Heb. 13:5, ESV).
- That “nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:38-39, NLT).
A tenacious resolve needs to enter our hearts in this hour that we will believe the Word of the Lord, not what our physical eyes see. The Spirit of God is hovering over the waters of the darkness as He was in the first chapter of Genesis, and the very next words God said there were, “Let there be light” (Gen. 1:3).
Light is about to break forth upon the darkness as a dam wall cracking and flooding the ground beneath it. Repent of this unbelief now and find yourself on the right side of the shaking that is now beginning!
My friend, you are the light of the world (Matt. 5:14). Release the power of the kingdom of God that you carry inside of you! The Spirit of God is ready to release faith, hope, love, joy and miracle-working power through your agreement with His Word. This world needs you to be the kingdom of God.
Jesus has placed you here in this hour of history! Let’s not walk in chains of unbelief like the children of Israel … let’s march boldly into the Promised Land with unshakable resolve in His voice and leadership. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, and so it is with you, mighty warrior.
