How Your Desperation Moves God’s Heart

Do you really understand the great love that God has for you?

“And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience), and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us…” (1 John 4:16 amp).

Do you have faith in His Love?  He has promised never to leave you or forsake you. When you are feeling desperate, all alone, REMEMBER …Jesus Loves you, this I know for the Bible tells me so!

This is the heart of the gospel. God so loved the world He gave His only son for you.  Encourage yourself today as you read about a woman that was desperate, she had nothing but a little jar of oil. BUT when she surrendered her nothing to God, Her jar, became full and running over!

Desperate people will reach a point where it is not about them, but about the Lord. Crisis moments are defining moments, they reveal what is in our heart and where we place our trust. Desperation is a powerful force and can work for us or against us. Decisions we make in desperate times determine our outcome.

Many times in my life, I have been frustrated with life, with myself and yes, with God. I hang on to a scripture that God revealed to me in my early Christian walk. “Since the Lord is directing your steps, why try to understand everything that happens along the way” (Proverbs 20:24 LB).

In 2 Kings 4 we find a desperate woman. She made a wise decision and went to the prophet to ask for help. BUT did she expect the question he asked, “… what do you have in the house?” (vs.2). She came for answers not questions!

“And she said, Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” She had just lost her husband, she was in debt, her creditors were coming to take her sons and she had nothing but a jar of oil. She was desperate!
