In Genesis 1, God created the heavens and the earth with His Word. Genesis 1:2-3 (AMP) says, “The earth was formless and void or a waste and emptiness, and darkness was upon the face of the deep [primeval ocean that covered the unformed earth]. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters. And God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light.” God dispelled and separated the light from the darkness and called the light day and darkness night. The Spirit of God was hovering over the darkness. Today, the Spirit of God is hovering over every darkness in our lives, whether it be depression, fear, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, emotional hurts, sickness and disease, lack, anxiety, grief, etc. The Spirit of God is moving to dispel the darkness and create His light in our lives. John 1:5 (NIV) says, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” The Spirit of God is also hovering over the darkness in the earth today. God is moving and hovering over the earth to eliminate the darkness and bring in His light over the earth He created.
