God’s Miracle ‘R&R’ Provisions for You!

A curious thing happens on Labor Day. On this special holiday, created as “the working person’s day off,” more people than ever have to work!

There’s nothing wrong with good, hard work, but whoa! The body is but human and could use some “R&R”—or rest and recovery. If we are not careful, it is all too easy to end up drained from the demands and cares of daily life!

Thankfully, the Lord sees the loads we carry, and He has made provisions for us to receive His miraculous R&R provisions—to give us rest, recovery and renewal. In His Word, He invites us to, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28, emphasis added).

He adds to His beautiful invitation with His further powerful promise: “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (vv. 29-30, emphasis added).

Prayer of any length miraculously places us in the Lord’s great presence. It positions us to speak to Him our innermost needs and to give over to Him our heavy loads.

Prayer also prepares us for miracles! Prayer positions us to receive His miracle R&R blessings in return—His “peace beyond all understanding” for all anxiousness (see Phil. 4:7), His new joy that “comes in the morning” for our sorrows, regret and despair (see Ps. 30:5), and His new beauty for ashes, as He takes our lives and transforms them (see Is. 61:3).

Only from being in His presence—which is accessible to any of us day or night, 24/7—can we gain miraculous R&R, or rest and recovery, from the great burdens, cares and concerns of daily life. Only from His miraculous R&R can we rebuild ourselves and our very lives!

The Lord has great plans and purposes for your life now and to come. They exist no matter what your track record—or how old you are—for God Almighty, who is older than time itself, has beautiful divine plans and opportunities for you! It is never too late for Him to work miracles in your life!

If you are employed He wants to bless the work of your hands. If you are looking for advancement in your place of work He wants to open new doors for you! If you are a business owner He wants to prosper you, your employees and all you do business with.

If you’re struggling with unemployment, He wants to give you the means to find jobs, restore, heal your finances and give you the desires of your heart.

No matter what you are seeking, stand on the Lord’s powerful promise to you to, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Matt. 7:7).

This Labor Day, take some moments for yourself—and get with the Lord’s great presence. Then get ready for His miraculous R&R to not only help your life, but to transform it!

This week pray for those affected by “Isaac” and other natural disasters (earthquakes, fires, floods), and for those already suffering through loss of employment and loved ones. Ask God to show you what you can do to help share His love, compassion and provision to those in need. Pray that believers will unite in prayer and purpose for God’s kingdom and continue to pray for the upcoming elections. Pray protection over the candidates and their families as they campaign. Ask God to reveal what is true and what is not so that there is a clear choice and ask Him to direct you as you vote.  Remember Israel and pray for it to fulfill God’s appointed purpose for them in these last days.  Matt. 7:7; Ps. 30:5; Phil. 4:7; Isa. 61:3
