In one of his recent and deeply impactful sermons, Pastor Greg Locke of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, visually expressed the type of suffering and agony that Jesus went through on His journey to the cross. Yet, it’s not just the journey itself that is hard-hitting about what He went through. When held up to the light, Scripture had for hundreds of years plainly described what would happen to the Messiah, and no one understood it until after Jesus had died and rose from the grave.
If you look at Psalm 22, there are prophetic images of what would happen to Jesus, including the thirst He would feel in the sun, gasping for breath as He hung on the cross.

Fraud and Extortion Trial for ‘Bling Bishop’ Lamor Whitehead Begins
The trial for the ‘bling bishop,’ Lamor Miller-Whitehead, has begun.
In 2022, Miller-Whitehead was arrested for allegedly scamming one his parishioners. Miller-Whitehead had reportedly lied to his congregants about “having the key to the city” from New York City’s Mayor, Eric Adams.
Miller-Whitehead, 47, was previously charged with two counts of wire fraud, one for extortion and one for lying to the FBI. Miller-Whitehead is accused of targeting an elderly parishioner for giving him $90,000 of her life savings to him, according to the New York Daily News.

Most citizens are either firmly on the side of a presidential candidate or completely disenfranchised with all of them from both major political parties. Frustration is sky high with Congress as their approval ratings are at an all-time low of 15%.
We see the Psalm 2 reality of infighting in our nation’s capital and wonder whether God can reach our leaders: “Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against His anointed,” (Ps. 2:1–2, MEV). Are they stuck in the echo chamber of Washington, D.C., or our state houses and unable to hear any wisdom from ordinary citizens or even God Himself? What hope do we have that God is on the move and that He can reach our national leaders, even across party lines?
