Jentezen Franklin compared the popular Netflix horror film Bird Box to fasting, saying that the movie illustrates how when one sense is cut off, it heightens the other senses. The same applies to fasting. Franklin says, “There’s a very popular movie on Netflix called Bird Box, and it has these people—and I don’t have time to go into it, but the bottom line is it’s all about hearing. … There’s birds that go off when the bad thing is coming. Well, I’ve got a bird called the Holy Spirit.” Watch his sermon illustration here.
