Israel has always been a key piece in the prophetic puzzle. Scholars have debated over which generation would be alive to see all of the prophecies fulfilled. Ancient prophets foretold the birth of Israel, “in one day.” It looked to everyone as an impossibility, but on May 14, 1948, through a vote by the United Nations, Israel became a nation. The prophet’s words had come true. Then 19 years later, another prophecy was fulfilled. In 1967, during the historic Six-Day War, Israel reclaimed Jerusalem. For the first time in 19 years, the eternal city welcomed people of all faiths to worship according to their beliefs.
Ezekiel’s prophetic question had been answered. He asked, “Can these dry bones live?” They did by the miraculous breath of God, who continues to sustain them. Through wars, bombings and escalating antisemitism, Israel remains the apple of God’s eye. He is their shield and protector, and will be through every fight to the very last in the valley of Megiddo and the Battle of Armageddon. God will fulfill every promise to them and to those that stand with them. He declares, “I will bless those that bless Israel.” Pastor Larry Huch shares what else is ahead for Israel as we approach the third millennium in this week’s episode of Standing With Israel, A Prophet’s Words and The Birth Of A Nation. {eoa}
