The body of Christ is mourning the passing of Dr. David Yonggi Cho, pastor of the world’s largest megachurch, who died recently at age 85.
The founder and pastor of Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, South Korea, Cho was born a Buddhist in 1936 and spent decades spreading the gospel of Christ. He became one of the most influential Christian leaders in a country with among the world’s most vibrant Christian communities. The author of several books, Cho also founded a Christian daily newspaper.
Many faith leaders mourned his death including Oral Roberts University president Billy Wilson, who tweeted: “I am sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. David Yonggi Cho, one of the great leaders of the Spirit-Empowered movement. Dr. Cho’s legacy and impact will continue for generations.”
