The “Master Designer” has designed clothes for the woman of God that are worry- and fear-free, that will never wear out. They are wash and wear: cleansed by the blood of Jesus and washed by the water of His Word. They are designed with you in mind as you walk the runway of life.
You were clothed with the robe of righteousness and the garment of praise when you were born again by the power of the Holy Spirit (Isa. 61:3, 10). Your robe of righteousness gives you the right to enter the court of heaven as a child of God. With praise in your heart as you wrap the garment of praise securely around your robe of righteousness, all the fiery darts of the enemy sent to destroy your robe of righteousness are stopped.
When we submit ourselves to Christ, our heart is united with His heart, our will is merged in Him and our mind becomes one with Him as our thoughts are captivated with His thoughts. As the Lord looks upon us, He no longer sees a fig-leaf garment deformed by sin, but His own master design of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom. 14:17).
As women we are sometimes concerned about being dressed “just right” for the occasion. We compare ourselves to others and often dress to “fit in” and be accepted. In the kingdom of God, we are the beloved and the accepted. We don’t have to dress to impress!
As we walk the runway of life, we pick up a little dirt; thoughts of doubt and unbelief, jealousy. We make mistakes that have consequences that we have to walk out. It is not easy to walk in the light in a dark world. As we grow in the knowledge of God, we will discern the ways of the enemy and can stop his fiery darts before they can take root in our hearts.
Proverbs 4:23 is a foundational Scripture for building our life in this world. “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.” How do you guard your heart? God clothed us with the garments of salvation, and He has given us armor to protect our garment; but we have to “put on” the armor of God (Eph. 6:10-18).
Your breastplate of righteousness covers your heart, and the shield of faith stops the fiery darts coming against you. You have to create an environment to protect your robe of righteousness and garment of praise as we live in this world. As a woman of God, you do not have to be perfect, but your heart must be submitted to God, living for His purpose intentionally. You can’t have one foot in the kingdom of God and one foot in the world. It is all about heart attitude. That is why above all else we have to guard our heart.
You can change your clothes on the outside, but there is no upgrade in the kingdom of heaven. Only the Holy Spirit can pick up the loose threads of your life and weave them together to heal the broken heart and the disappointments of life.
The shield of faith will stop all the fiery darts of the enemy aimed at your heart to destroy your relationship with God, your relationships with others, your health and finances. Faith is action. It is adapting your behavior, your decisions and lifestyle to the standards of God’s Word. It is choosing to walk in obedience when you can’t see the outcome.
Faith speaks. “We have the same spirit of faith. As it is written, ‘I believed, and therefore I have spoken. ‘ So we also believe and therefore speak” (2 Cor. 4:13). Faith-filled words coming from your mouth form the shield that destroys every lie that rises up against you.
Words contain power, and the condition of your heart determines the effect of those words. Words can build you up or tear you down. There is a definite link between your heart and your words. “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer” (Ps. 19:14).
Your robe of righteousness gives you the authority to speak God’s Word. Luke 10:19, “Look, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
What condition is your robe in? As you walk the runway of life with all its detours, has your robe had a few tears and rips from your lifestyle of competition, fear and worry causing you to stumble over the loose threads of your life? You must learn to take the threads of each day and allow God to weave them together for His masterpiece.
I have good news for you. No matter what shape your robe is in, if you have totally unraveled or just have a few loose edges, all you have to do is submit the threads to the Lord. He will take the loose ends of your life and weave your life into the original design He created just for you
When Queen Esther put on her royal robe, they were indicative of her position and the authority that went with her position. When you enter a room, people should know there is something different about that woman! Wear your robe of righteousness with dignity and honor! You are a child of the King of kings.
You are an original, a unique woman of God. Enjoy the walk, fellowship with your sisters in the Lord, building one another up in the love of God. {eoa}
