Jamie Grace’s debut EP includes
four tracks that will have listeners singing along in no time—and wanting more.
Her unique mix of hip-hop, reggae and folk sounds is fun, but it’s the story
behind the musician that will inspire young and old alike.
When
Grace was 11 she was diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome. Understandably, she
endured many challenges, difficulties and spiritual doubt as a result. But she
eventually made a decision: “I’ve cried enough. It’s time to accept my joy. It
was just the long process of finally realizing that, even with Tourette’s, I
still have something to do with my life. I love to sing. I have a story, and
I’ve got to share it.”
And
that is exactly what this Atlanta native is doing. Grace, a self-taught
musician—she plays guitar, drums, piano and ukulele—creates melodies that will
have listeners singing long after the music has stopped playing. The upbeat “Hold
Me,” featuring TobyMac, expresses appreciation for God’s faithfulness. Grace
also added her style to the cover of dcTalk’s “Into Jesus.”
Listeners
will enjoy Grace’s uplifting music, but even more so, they’ll be encouraged by
her testimony of faith and endurance in the midst of adversity.
