The group’s The 7 Tour “will be our last as a band,” the posting said. “None of us is sure what’s next, but we’re not afraid. … And we’re sure that music will play a role in the future for most, if not all, of us, since, well, we wouldn’t know how to not have it a part of our lives.”
Formed in 2000, the Christian alternative worship group has received nine Dove Awards and was nominated for a GRAMMY Award this year for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album for Church Music (sixstepsrecords/EMI CMG Distribution)—a mainstay on SoundScan’s Christian/gospel music Christian retail chart.
In 2007, David Crowder Band was named Artist of the Year by the MSN Music portal, edging out Prince, Christina Aguilera, INXS and Kenny Chesney.
