In a recent prophetic message, Rabbi Jonathan Cahn delves into the spiritual dynamics behind the conflict between Iran and Israel, focusing particularly on the roles of Iranian leaders and the archangel Michael. Cahn presents a deeply insightful perspective, revealing connections between biblical prophecies and contemporary geopolitical events.
Cahn identifies Iranian General Mohammad Reza Zahedi as a key figure behind anti-Israel terrorism. “The one man whose hands were especially responsible for the spreading of Iranian terror and anti-Israel attacks was the Iranian General Zahedi,” Cahn says. He suggests that Zahedi was an embodiment of the demonic entity Sar Paras, a term he explains as being translated in the Bible as “chief” or “ruler.”
When Israel targeted Zahedi, Iran responded with a historic missile attack, reflecting a broader spiritual conflict. “When Israel struck him down, the Iranian general, they were striking down a Sar Paras,” Cahn notes. This act is seen as part of a spiritual warfare where earthly actions mirror celestial battles.

Cahn extends this analysis to former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, whom he also identifies as a vessel of Sar Paras. Raisi, known for his harsh rule and anti-Israel stance, is described as a “dark agent, a minister of death.” Cahn points out that Raisi’s name carries significant meaning: “Ebrahim comes from literally Abraham, the father of the people he’s tried to destroy.” This, he argues, symbolizes Raisi’s violation of the Abrahamic covenant.
The events surrounding Iran and Israel took a dramatic turn when Raisi was brought down while airborne, an event Cahn ties to angelic warfare. “The Sar Paras is a spiritual being. The apostle Paul said we war not against flesh and blood but against principalities, rulers in the heavenly places,” he explains.
This event coincided with the International Criminal Court calling for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which Cahn interprets as a coordinated spiritual attack.
Central to Cahn’s message is the role of the archangel Michael, the protector of Israel. Michael, described as a “chief angel of God,” stands in direct opposition to Sar Paras.
“The angel who speaks with the prophet Daniel tells him the Sar Paras withstood me, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me,” Cahn recounts. He emphasizes Michael’s designation as Israel’s guardian: “Michael is your prince, Daniel, your Sar, your angel, meaning Israel.”
This angelic battle, Cahn argues, is reflected in the physical realm. “What happens on Earth mirrors what happens in the heavenlies,” he asserts, suggesting that the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel is a manifestation of this spiritual war.
Cahn’s message calls for heightened spiritual awareness among believers, urging them to recognize the profound interplay between the physical and spiritual realms.
