Music artist and DJ Topher Jones had an inspiring conversation on a recent episode of Live Your Best Life on the Charisma Podcast Network. Jones shares his vision and heart for the music industry and what he believes the Lord wants to do through him.
He says, “When God envisioned the music industry, it was not what it looks like right now.” He believes his role is to bring the industry towards the dream God originally had for it. Jones wants to see a generation of Spirit-filled artists who lead the music industry because they’re excellent at their craft and because of what they carry.
Jones spends time seeking the Lord’s heart in each area he’s involved in, whether it be creative or business related. Rather than doing all the talking or coming with his own perspective, he asks God what His thoughts are on the matter.
Jones also speaks about how the Lord told him to start his own record label. It wasn’t the timing he’d imaged, but he took Him at His word and started acting and thinking as if he had his own label. He shares that he wrote down ideas and plans, listened to records and put release schedules in place. God began connecting him with highly talented artists who were still unknown, and they also loved Jesus!
Jones wants to partner with Jesus and not just expect the word to happen without collaboration. It’s so important that we partner with God in our prophetic words and persevere. It’s more important to be a person who simply says yes to God a lot than to be highly talented. We need perseverance to run the race because it takes collaboration with God to see the vision fulfilled! Receive strength and faith today that the vision you have will come to pass. {eoa}
