Can Christians Lose Their Anointing?

Have you ever been in a situation that you knew just did not feel right in your heart, in your soul, and you knew you should just leave it but instead did nothing and entertained the flesh?

Do these moments of weakness cause Christians to lose the consecration the Lord anointed over their lives when we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and are washed clean by His blood?

“I was not too wise a number of times with prophecy,” Hinn says.

It was in these errors that Hinn admitted to bringing harm to himself and others by offering up such statements.

“Their prophecies were not really a prophecy. They went outside the borders of redemption,” Hinn says. “There were times when I thought God had showed me something that He wasn’t showing me. And I spoke it out.”

Hinn is no stranger to the study of God’s anointing within the text of the Bible. He even wrote a book about it called “Mysteries of the Anointing” and came to the conclusion that, yes, a Christian can lose the anointing God has over their life.

These are the six ways Hinn found that the anointing can leave the life of a Christian:

  1. Entertaining the Demonic. How do they entertain the demonic? They allow demonic things into their lives, like Achan in Joshua 7, who took some kind of a demonic image and hid it in his tent in direct violation of what God had instructed.
  2. Allowing the Flesh to Pollute It. God says in Exodus 30:32, “Upon man’s flesh shall [the oil of the anointing] be poured.” He is saying, “Do not let the flesh interfere. Do not let your carnal nature and the world get in there.”
  3. Allowing the Anointing to be Imitated, Borrowed or Stolen. The anointing on you for your ministry or office is the only anointing you can release. You cannot release the anointing inside you, the abiding anointing. You can only release the one on you, the empowering anointing. Releasing it to the right people is the key because this anointing weakens when you release it to undeserving individuals.
  4. Allowing the Wrong People to Get Close to You. The people you allow to be close can fight God’s plan for you and weaken the empowering anointing on your ministry. If you have people on staff in wrong positions or promote them to positions God has not called them to, it can cause division and hinder the anointing God put on your ministry or office.
  5. Controlling Spirits. In 3 John 1:9, John warned the church about a controlling man named Diotrephes, who wanted preeminence. He was trying to control peoples’ lives with his religious spirit. If you let someone around you with a religious spirit, they will weaken or kill what God has given you.
  6. Other People’s Sin. If the wrong people touch you, they will weaken the anointing on you. It says in 1 Timothy 5:22, “Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.” So do not lay hands on them—and do not even let them touch you lest you partake of their sin and impurities. Protect yourself from the danger, the witchcraft and the demonic they bring with them.

Thankfully, for all of us, there is redemption in Jesus Christ. No man or woman, either Christian or otherwise, is beyond Jesus’ grasp.

There are times and seasons of correction, repentance and renewal, but according to the words of Paul in Romans 11:29, we do not lose the calling God has for us, “For the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable.”

Vatican Braces for Surge in ‘Supernatural’ Events

People have got to wonder what is in store for humanity as the home to the world’s most powerful religious organization, the Vatican, is preparing new guidelines on how to deal with supernatural phenomena.

It’s almost like a clue as to what is expected to happen in the near future.

As reported by Fox News, “The Holy See Press Office announced the upcoming document will be published May 17 with a live-streamed press conference featuring Prefect for the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández.”

This shouldn’t come as shocking topic of discussion to Christians, but it seems many today have abandoned the supernatural aspect of the Bible, even though spiritual warfare against demons, principalities, powers and rulers of darkness is an oft-discussed topic in the Word of God.

Fernández has said in the past that the new text will come with “clear guidelines and norms for the discernment of apparitions and other phenomena,” as reported by the National Catholic Register.

Well, good on the Catholic Church for at least recognizing the significance behind the spiritual realm and its effect on the natural.

But Christians who do not subscribe to the Catholic view of Christianity need to be aware that things are worded and phrased a bit differently than your mainline Protestant, Pentecostal or non-denominational Christian may be used to hearing.

Case in point, an “apparition” is a distinctly divine entity, meaning it would be a saint, the virgin Mary or Jesus.

Many Christians today believe that such visions exist, perhaps with less of an emphasis on Mary and more on angelic beings and Jesus, but there have been just as many who have labeled such occurrences and events as “charismaniac nonsense.”

Well, we are seeing the evidence of the spiritual war taking place all around us, as the earth continues its self-destructive spiral away from the tenets of God.

But one thing all Christians can (or should) agree with Catholics on is the need for biblical discernment.

The Bible warns of deception and false teachers, and if we are not rooted firmly in the truth of the Bible, many, even the elect, will fall victim to these deceptions.

So stay prayed up, fast and spend daily time in the Word of God so that the snares of the enemy fail and God’s truth is instead revealed to the world.

3 Rules for a Prosperous Life

Time has a funny way of making us reprioritize what is important in life, as well as how we view our relationship with God.

When Benny Hinn sat down with Charisma Media founder Stephen Strang for an episode of the Strang Report podcast, he did more than just discuss mistakes he had made in the past, he also shared three key areas of advice he would give his younger self, and all young people entering ministry.

In his 50th year of ministry in 2024, Hinn has had his share of ups and downs, victories and failures. Living in the latter-season of life that he now finds himself in, Hinn described wisdom he would have appreciated when he was a young minister, to stay grounded in the Lord and His will.

  1. Build a reservoir of the Word of God in your heart. “So when the troubles come, you [will] know what to do,” Hinn says. And the troubles will eventually come for any and every person who declares Jesus Christ is Lord. According to the King of kings’ own words in John 16:33, “…In the world you will have tribulation. But be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.”
  2. Cling to the Lord with all your mind. “Only the Word within your heart can help you cling to the Lord,” Hinn shares. By holding tight to the Lord, we prevent wandering from taking place. Instead of leaving His presence in the pursuit of fleshly desires, we stay within His perfect place and prevent sin from taking over our lives as Psalm 119:11 says, “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”
  3. Stay with your call. “The reason that’s important is because anything outside the call is sin,” Hinn reveals. “It was King Uzziah [who] was called to be a king (2 Chron. 26). And one day wanted to be a priest, and he became a leper. Leprosy is symbolic of sin in the Bible. Look what happened to Saul and so on.”

Prayer, studying the Word of God and developing a personal relationship with God are all things every Christian should strive to deepen in their life, and these are what Hinn points to as a necessity for ministry.

“The most important thing that any young 18-year-old can really do is know the mind of God, know the concept of God,” Hinn says. “And the Bible is really clear in Psalm 119, because it talks about how the Word of God, the Scriptures, are so powerful, to help us live holy. And this is when prayer becomes really [important] in our life, because of the Word of God in us.”

Navigating Criticism on the Road to Redemption

Christian controversy just seems to be a thing these days.

It bridges denominations, genders and borders, and when a big name in the Christian sphere stumbles or even falls on their face (metaphorically speaking), there is an army of online content creators waiting to pick their situation apart and offer their audiences a “hot take.”

So how are Spirit-filled believers able to tell the difference? How can we ensure that we are using proper discernment in these foundation-shaking events that cause some to lose faith in the church?

Well, we must discern between destructive and constructive criticism of our words and actions, Brown says.

“There’s a criticism that’s destructive, that only tears down that looks for the worst. That is not fair. That is not evenhanded before the Lord, that does not receive good reports, but only bad reports that thrive on negativity,” Brown warns.

“But there’s another criticism which is healthy, and life giving. And the Bible is full of examples,” he continues. “…So there’s a criticism that’s healthy, that’s good, even if we don’t like the way it comes, and through whom it comes.”

One safety net that Dr. Brown points to, that has been sorely missing in the church, is accountability.

“We’ve had a real problem in the American church in general, with so many independent churches, but then in the charismatic church, in particular, with unaccountability. And we can just speak words, prophetic words, and whether they come to pass or not, we just keep going,” Brown says.

“There seems to be little accountability. And it seems, you know, big ministries, just keep going without a problem, but we’re living in a different day now,” he adds.

Accountability protects ministries, leaders and congregations as a preventative measure, but also when false witness is brought up. Because when someone is being held accountable, they are more aware of their actions and not giving place to sin because they are under a close watch by a trusted group of believers.

Brown believes that a place of true repentance will yield a change of how we operate in ministry.

“People want to see genuine fruit of repentance,” says Brown. “If we really humble ourselves, take ownership for what we did, acknowledge it. Don’t just brush it off as heresy hunting, embrace it, bring forth fruit of repentance, people will welcome that. And those who still reject it, hey, you can’t help them. You can’t help everybody. But others who see genuine repentance, genuine change, though, rejoice.”

Regardless of all the hoopla surrounding any particular big-name ministry leader, no matter if the accusations levelled against someone are true or false, all will be revealed when we stand before God And our lives will be put under a “holy spotlight,” for which we will answer.

“The same spotlight before God is on all of us. In other words, Benny Hinn may have a bigger platform than someone else, but in God’s sight, we’re all under a holy spotlight, where we’ve blown it,” Brown says.

“So let’s humble ourselves. Let’s get low. As we do, God gives grace to the humble, He forgives, He restores.”

Netanyahu: ‘Never Again Is Now’

There is only one path forward for the embattled prime minister of Israel: the return of the hostages taken during the Oct. 7, massacre and the complete elimination of the terrorist organization known as Hamas.

As the world recoiled from the horrors observed as Hamas paraded the dead bodies of young Israeli women through the streets, many said it was only a matter of time until the media, and the world, would turn against Israel in their retaliatory strikes against those who carried out the worst massacre of the Jewish people since the Holocaust.

Now, as the International Criminal Court in the Hague weighs the option of issuing arrest warrants to some of Israel’s top officials, Netanyahu brazenly defied them during his address on Holocaust Remembrance Day, and anyone else who stand in the path of Israel ensuring her and her people’s safety in the future.

“From here in Jerusalem, I am sending a very clear-cut message: you will not chain our hands and even if Israel has to stand alone, it will stand alone and will continue to fight our enemies until victory,” Netanyahu told the world.

In the speech, Netanyahu switched between speaking Hebrew and English, but the message remained the same, Jews may have been unarmed and powerless during the Holocaust, but this is no longer the case.

“No nation came to our aid. Today again, we face enemies bent on our destruction. I say to the leaders of the world: no amount of pressure… will stop Israel from defending itself. As prime minister, I pledge here today from Jerusalem on this Holocaust Remembrance Day, if Israel is forced to stand alone, Israel will stand alone,” the prime minister roared.

“We will defeat our genocidal enemies. Never again is now.”

The path forward certainly appears to be a lonely one for Israel, as her once-closest ally, the United States of America, has bowed before the radical anti-Israel forces.

The Biden administration has maintained their position of being against an invasion of the city of Rafah, which began Tuesday, Apr. 7.

In response to the march of Israeli tanks and armored personnel carriers, the United States halted a large arms transfer to Israel, which the nation badly needs in her war against Hamas.

Perhaps Netanyahu’s words were prophetic without him even realizing it.

There is one certainty among all of this of course, and that is the covenant that God made with Abraham in the book of Genesis is alive and well today, and His hand of protection is upon His people.

Atheists Rage Over Gigantic Ten Commandments Display

We live in an age when people are openly rejecting the cures to society’s ailments.

When repentance and humility offer a path back into God’s blessing and protection, sojourners instead reject them and embrace atheism and humanism.

But it is not enough to just reject God’s ways, they must actively be hunted down and removed from American society.

This is why the Freedom From Religion Foundation’s newest venture of removing a massive two-story rendition of the Ten Commandments from a Duluth, Minnesota prison, along with inspirational quotes from influential figures such as President Ronald Reagan, is so indicative of the spiritual rot within the United States today.

As the prison system in the United States has failed to reform prisoners and instead create a system of cyclical incarceration, when the Word of God is introduced into prisoners’ lives, a multitude of ministries have seen lives changed and families restored from a life of crime.

When visitors toured the Minnesota facility, Shakespeare would be jealous of the drama level they were able to ratchet up upon seeing the Ten Commandments, the source of Judeo-Christian morality that has helped shape the world.

“The whole time I was thinking if I were in here, it would be very clear to me that I was not in a safe place,” says Grand Rapids resident Dana Butler, according to the Star Tribune.

How exactly do the Ten Commandments threaten a person’s safety? Or, just maybe, this person’s own bias and bigotry toward religion, Christianity and Judaism in particular, is clouding their thoughts.

Another resident, Brian Vroman, told the Star Tribune that the display was “authoritarian,” a recent talking point of the left to deflect from the abuse of authority by the Biden administration, and said “this is government imposing religion” on the prisoners.

“It’s pretty audacious and pretty reckless,” he adds.

Putting up the Ten Commandments is considered “reckless” to some Americans today. Yet if the prisoners who look upon this large display would abide by these standards of morality, they may in fact not find themselves incarcerated because they would not be committing crimes.

Since the removal of prayer, the Ten Commandments and the assault on the nuclear family, crime has only risen in this country, and people still push for the morals that this nation was founded on to be pushed out using incorrect interpretations of the Separation Clause in the U.S. Constitution.

With these aggressively hostile interpretations in effect, American culture has continued its slide toward oblivion for decades, with the only hope of saving her being repentance of our national sin against God and turning back toward Him.

Benny Hinn Speaks Out Amid Controversy

Pastor. Preacher. Author. Charlatan.

Evangelist Benny Hinn has been called a lot of things and held many titles over the years, and whether people love him or hate him, they still cannot stop talking about him and his recognizable crusades.

As the information era continues moving forward, Hinn’s reach has only grown, and critics are able to make a career out of reacting to decades-old videos of Hinn from as far back as the 1980s and ’90s.

Some videos end up going viral, such as Mike Winger’s four-hour long deep dive into past videos of Hinn which he dedicated to all of those he perceives as victims of Hinn’s ministry. And Winger points several severe errors within the ministry of Hinn over the years, such as prophecy, healing and prosperity gospel.

While Winger’s work is thorough, does it give the full picture of who Hinn is?

With so many saying things about who Benny is and what his ministry represents, he felt that he should throw his hat into the ring and try to balance the scales when it comes to the legacy he will leave behind.

Reaching out to Stephen Strang, Founder and CEO of Charisma Media, Hinn requested an interview in which he could tell his story, in his own words.

Hinn is well aware of the criticisms levelled at him, one would have to be living in an unprecedented world of denial not to, and he just doesn’t feel like people know the real him, who he is and what he truly believes.

“They see the clips from the crusades. They see the clips from TV programs, and they see the old clips from ‘This is Your Day,’ and on and on, and they make up their own conclusion,” Hinn says.

However, when it comes to the past mistakes Hinn acknowledges during the interview with Strang, he admitted to carrying regrets from various times throughout his ministry.

“I’m a human being. I’ve made mistakes. I remember Oral [Roberts] telling me he made mistakes by the truckloads. We all make mistakes. The two things I regret most in ministry, I was not too wise a number of times with prophecy…and then the other one is prosperity. And that’s been a very difficult one for me,” Hinn reveals.

“For that…I ask people to forgive me, I’m just human, and [I] made mistakes,” Hinn says.

While Hinn’s admission to errors over the course of a 50-year ministry (they are celebrating their Jubilee year in 2024) will likely bring with it more criticism than forgiveness, there are still many who hold tight to a prosperity gospel that elevates money above God—somewhere Hinn says he does not want to be.

“We’re flawed human beings. But we strive to be better. We strive to do better. And the most important thing is, how will we finish the race?” Hinn reflects. “That’s what matters in life. And that’s what I’m focused on. I’m not focused on how I ran, or how I stumbled and had to get up and go. I want to finish well.”

‘The Office’ Star Angela Recounts Issue With Christian Joke

The final episode of the American version of “The Office” was over a decade ago in 2013, and people are still finding out new info about it to this day.

Discussing her time on the show, Kinsey recounted this story to fellow “The Office” star Rainn Wilson, who played the unparalleled Dwight Schrute, when he asked her about her faith in God.

Coming from a Christian background, and having a mother who still teaches a weekly Bible study, Kinsey fits the role of Angela perfectly, especially when a joke was written that she didn’t feel lived up to the reality of how a Christian would speak to a gay person like the script called for.

Kinsey shared about the interaction that was supposed to take place between her and Oscar, a gay man who worked at the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company alongside her character.

“Yeah, actually, there were one or two times in which there would be a joke written for her that I thought was just really stereotypical, maybe one note. I like to think of her as a full, well-rounded person,” Kinsey explains.

“I do remember there was a particular storyline between Angela and Oscar, where Angela was being super judgy. I never went up to Greg about any joke, but there was a joke at Oscar’s expense, and I went up to Greg [Daniels], and I was like, ‘I can’t.’

WATCH: Pastor Miraculously Saved From Gunman

A pastor in North Braddock, Pennsylvania, is giving God all the praise, honor and glory after a man tried to murder him as he was giving his sermon.

Pastor Glenn Germany had fractions of a second to react as the man, identified as 26-year-old Bernard Junior Polite, casually strolled up to the front altar of the Jesus Dwelling Place Church, smiled at the pastor and raised a silver pistol mere feet from Germany with a clear line of fire.

Yet when Polite pulled the trigger, what can only be described as divine intervention filled the church, as the weapon jammed and Germany’s life was spared.

“I’m thankful to God that I’m still here, because he definitely pulled the trigger,” Pastor Germany says.

“I was like, this is not happening,” he added. “I thank God because only God stopped and jammed this gun.”

According to a statement released by police, “Polite pointed a firearm at the pastor, attempted to shoot, but the firearm failed to discharge,” the statement reads. “A congregation member took immediate action by grabbing onto Polite. The member and the pastor were able to subdue and disarm Polite. Polite was held until troopers arrived.”

The congregation member, Deacon Clarence McCallister, did not hesitate in the face of danger and personal risk. He is seen in the video of the event leaping to his feet and charging Polite, tackling him to the ground.

“There’s something that needs to be done and I jumped up and handled my business,” McCallister says.

While Pastor Germany and McCallister subdued Polite until the police arrived, Germany was able to speak with him and tried to make some sense of what took place.

“This guy was just dealing with spirits he said, and he came in and wanted to shoot somebody,” Germany recalls.

The pair even appear to have reconciled as Polite has allegedly apologized to Germany who in turn forgave him for his actions.

Sadly, there appears to be a victim from Polite’s recent breakdown, as the body of 56-year-old Derek Polite was found at the residence of Bernard Polite, as police continue to investigate the matter.

Bishop Reveals Wounds Following Stabbing Attack

The world was shocked when an extremist carried out an attack on Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel at the Assyrian Christ the Good Shepherd church in Wakeley, a suburb of Sydney, Australia, which was caught on the church’s livestream.

Following the attack, Australian authorities attempted to silence the video and worked with various social media platforms to have it taken down. Elon Musk and his X platform (formerly Twitter) is the only major outlet that refused, in the name of free speech.

Since the vicious attack was carried out by an alleged radical Islamist, the attacker is a minor and his identity has not been released by Australian authorities, Emmanuel has returned to pulpit with a fresh energy to spread the truth of Jesus Christ.

During his recovery, Emmanuel shared that he had forgiven his attacker, but also had a surprise update of his condition.

“This eye was lost,” Emmanuel told his congregation in a recent sermon conducted in Arabic. “I ask the Lord Jesus Christ to accept this eye as a token of love, and a token of sacrifice.”

With sight being such an integral part of the human experience, it would be easy for Emmanuel to harbor bitterness and resentment with a “why me” attitude following the attack. Instead, he mirrors the grace, love and mercy modeled for us through the perfection of Jesus Christ.

But Emmanuel says his sacrifice is nothing compared to what Jesus did for us on the cross.

“I am ashamed to say that I sacrifice to the Lord. What the Lord did on the wood of the cross, no man at all can do what He has done,” shares Emmanuel.

Anger in this type of situation is one snare Satan would like to catch us all in, but harboring hatred for the ones who persecute us is another. Yet it is another trap set by Satan that Emmanuel effortlessly sidesteps, and instead showers those who persecute him with love.

“I pray, my dear and beloved Jesus, that You accept with Your grace and love, that You accept this eye, as a token of love for every Muslim person,” Emmanuel prayed. “Wherever you are, I give you my eyes, my Muslim beloved. If you do not see, I will be your eye.”

No one can put it into better words than Jesus Christ Himself during the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5:44: “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.”
