For those enjoying the serene ocean view on Rhode Island‘s Misquamicut State Beach on a recent Saturday, the last thing on their mind was being overrun by a swarm of insects.

Yet this is exactly what they ended up experiencing as the Exodus-like swarm made up of millions of dragonflies invaded the beach.

While not on the same scale as the land of Egypt being overrun by locusts, the incident quickly went viral as video of the swarm caught worldwide attention, as people got out their trusty mobile devices to record the bizarre incident.

“One minute everything was calm,” witness Nicole Taylor told news outlet WFSB. “The next minute I saw the most dragonflies I’ve ever seen in my life.

“It lasted for like three minutes, and then they were gone. It was a very strange experience.”

Videos of the event show the skies above the beach congested with the flying pests moving quickly through the shoreline.

“It was weird,” another vacationer, Paula Bellavance, told the outlet. “It was like there was a couple, and then there was more and then it was just like they were coming from the ocean, and we’re just trying to process, ‘Wow, what is going on,’ and you look up, and there’s thousands in the air and all around you.”

Rhode Island Natural History Survey’s Executive Director David Gregg told the Providence Journal that the swarm could be a result of searching for more fertile feeding grounds. “What I suspect is happening is a combination of a good year for this species, a particularly big population, then a decline in their resources, and it triggers them to move and try to find a better place to be,” says Gregg.

Associate scientist Gale Ridge of Connecticut’s Agricultural Experiment Station believes this could just be a case of the swarm being moved by warm breezes from up north.

“These are green donna dragonflies that are commuting possibly from Canada, and they may have been pushed on shore by the wind,” Ridge speculates.

He highlighted the lack of “journalistic attention” to the content of these prayers, suggesting they could influence the mindset of those attending the rallies.

Jen Palmieri, an MSNBC contributor, raised the question, “If you imagine a loss for this ticket, you know, what are these rallies and the religious—and the prayers sort of sowing in this crowd of Trump supporters?” She described the prayers as being “apocalyptic.”

In response, Coppins said, “I think the concern you’re getting at is the one that was rattling around in my mind as I studied these prayers, which is that, of course, if you believe that this election is a battle between good and evil and that God is on your side, if your side loses, you have to believe that something is amiss, right?” He noted that such beliefs could lead to election denialism, as supporters might see a loss as evidence of foul play rather than a legitimate result, much like the Democratic reaction to Donald Trump being elected president of the United States against Hillary Clinton in 2016.

The discussion also touched on the reactions of some Trump supporters to the July 13 assassination attempt on the former president, which they attributed to divine intervention, as reported by the New York Times. This belief has been met with skepticism and mockery by some Democrats, with others even questioning the authenticity of the assassination attempt in the aftermath of the Butler rally.

Christians who pray can expect to have their very belief system not only questioned, but ridiculed and lied about by the mainstream media. We clearly live in a day that the name of Jesus Christ drives the demonically influenced in society insane, hence they seek to minimize the power of prayer and the impact that spiritual warfare has on a society.

Recently, the alarm was yet again sounded on the relatively free speech oriented X (formerly Twitter) about an image of Trump raising his fist in defiance of his would-be assassin at his Butler, Pennsylvania, rally where he nearly lost his life.

Outrage ensued as Facebook labeled the image “altered” using fact checkers that are more akin to activists than purveyors of the truth, saying “Independent fact checkers reviewed a similar photo and said it was altered in a way that could mislead people.”

As the flames of anger spread across the digital world, Meta realized they had better put the fire out before it became an even bigger problem.

Fox News reported that “Meta Public Affairs Director Dani Lever later explained on X it was done in error as the systems were meant to detect a separate version of the image.”

In perhaps a strange twist, Lever lists her previous position on X as the Communications Director for disgraced New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

“This was an error. This fact check was initially applied to a doctored photo showing the secret service agents smiling, and in some cases our systems incorrectly applied that fact check to the real photo. This has been fixed, and we apologize for the mistake,” Lever posted, ironically on X.

The image Meta referenced as altered was one where the Secret Service agents surrounding Trump were smiling, which in turn marked all images of that particular part of the event as “altered.”

USA Today writes, “None of the agents in the original image are smiling as they surround Trump, who has blood on his face and his right arm in the air. The image – which was captured by Associated Press photographer Evan Vucci and distributed by the AP – appeared with coverage of the shooting by CNN, The Atlantic, Business Insider and many other legitimate news outlets.”

With time constantly moving forward, we too are moving deeper and deeper into an age of deception. Discernment is our best friend in a digital world which seeks to push lies as the truth, and hide the truth entirely. As King Solomon asked for wisdom to rule Israel, so too should we ask for the same thing in dealing with tech censorship on a massive scale.

The Trinity Foundation is reporting that Suzanne Hinn, wife of world-famous televangelist Benny Hinn, has filed for divorce in Hillsborough County Court in Tampa, Florida.

This is the second time that she has filed for divorce from Benny after being first married on Aug. 4, 1979, and having four children.

As reported by Trinity Foundation, “The first Hinn divorce was filed in California, a no-fault divorce, community property state. The second divorce was filed in Florida, which is a no-fault divorce, equitable distribution state.”

Following the first filing in 2010, Hinn was infamously photographed holding hands with fellow televangelist Paula White while the pair was in Rome, Italy, published by The National Enquirer.

Benny Hinn argued that it was not the reason for the marital problems he and Suzanne were experiencing at the time, saying they were “just friends.”

“A friendship did develop,” Hinn said of White. “Hear this: No immorality whatsoever. These people out there are making it sound like we had an affair. That’s a lie.”

As Charisma previously reported, Hinn claims the the demise of his marriage was putting it before his family. “I was so busy in the ministry, I was so caught up with the ministry, I forgot about my family,” Hinn said then. “That’s probably what broke the whole thing up.”

The Hinns publicly shared the reconciliation process following the first divorce filing on their flagship program, “This is Your Day,” and were remarried in 2013.

“It’s amazing, Benny, what happens, when you allow the Lord and give Him permission and say, ‘Not my will but Your will be done in any situation in my life,'” Suzanne said at the time.

“Suzanne will be my partner in ministry,” Hinn said. “Because there’s really no other way around it, frankly … That’s just the way God wants it. She has a great anointing. She has a great ministry of prayer.”

When your pastor gives a speech so radical and outlandish that Nancy Pelosi condemns the words, you may want to reconsider taking advice from such a person.

Yet Vice President Kamala Harris instead leaned into her longtime pastor, Amos Brown, head of the Third Baptist Church in San Francisco. He was reportedly one of the first people Harris contacted when President Joe Biden suspended his 2024 presidential campaign and she became the presumptive nominee.

Brown shared some of their discussion with the publication “Sojourners” saying, “She said to me, ‘Pastor, I called because I want you to pray for me … this country … and the race I am intending to run for president.'”

Their relationship goes back years, and even as Harris was inaugurated as vice president, she maintained a close proximity to Brown, describing him in an Instagram picture of the two as “an inspiration to me always.”

So what is it that makes Brown such a “radical” and “dangerous” influence on the person who could be president of the United States one day?

Many Americans have never even heard of Amos Brown, much less his history of radical, anti-American rhetoric which has caused even prominent California liberals such as former Gov. Gray Davis and the late Senator Diane Feinstein to walk out of his speaking events.

Mere days after the horrific events of September 11, 2001, Brown blamed America for the attacks in a tirade that caused Rep. Nancy Pelosi to push back against them when she took the podium.

“America, is there anything you did to set up this climate?” Brown asked those in attendance. “Ohhhh—America, what did you do?”

According to the Washington Free Beacon he continued saying:

“America, what did you do two weeks ago when I stood at the world conference on racism, when you wouldn’t show up?” Brown said, referring to his participation in the United Nations World Conference Against Racism, which the United States and Israel boycotted citing concerns about antisemitism.

“America, America, what did you do – either intentionally or unintentionally – in the world order, in Central America, in Africa where bombs are still blasting?” Brown went on. “America, what did you do in the global warming conference when you did not embrace the smaller nations? America, what did you do two weeks ago when I stood at the world conference on racism, when you wouldn’t show up?”

You know you’ve jumped into the deep end when Nancy Pelosi slams the statement as too far.

“The act of terrorism on Sept. 11 put those people outside the order of civilized behavior, and we will not take responsibility for that,” Pelosi said.

As Brown’s history comes to the surface, it rings eerily similar to the horrific statements given by former President Barack Obama’s pastor, Jeremiah Wright. While Obama frequently caught a lot of heat for the divisive and strong anti-American language used by Wright, in the long run it made little difference to those who ended up voting for him.

Fox News reported on a speech given by Harris at the 2022 NAACP National Convention, telling the world just how much Brown means to her and influences her decisions.

“I just want to, if you don’t mind for a moment, take a moment of personal privilege to talk about Dr. Brown. He has been on this journey with me every step of the way, from when I first thought about running for public office almost two decades ago,” Harris said. “And he has been such a voice of leadership, more leadership, and leadership in our nation. And so I want to thank you, Dr. Brown, for all that you are.”

As reported by Fox News, “Judoka Nurali Emomali of Tajikistan refused to shake hands with his Israeli opponent, Tohar Butbul, following their match in the round of 16 Sunday. Emomali, who won the match, chose to walk off the mat without the customary post-match gesture.”

Instead of shaking hands, Emomali yelled “Allahu Akbar” and held up a Muslim prayer symbol.

In a twist that many have called divine justice, Emomali’s next match against Japan’s Hifumi Abe slammed the Olympian to the mat with such force, and as Emomali tried to brace his fall with his arm, he dislocated the socket in a brutal way that was caught on video of the match.

Social commentators were quick to point out the extreme level of irony and poked fun at the injured wrestler, claiming he had it coming and should have been disqualified for refusing to shake hands in the first place.

Kansas City Chiefs placekicker Harrison Butker, known for speaking up for traditional, biblical values, was having none of it and confronted the sexually perverse performance with Scripture.

There was a last supper, that led to a blood covered cross, that led to an empty tomb. Proclaiming victory over sin, death, and hell.

Tragedy struck as three members of the award-winning gospel quartet The Nelons were killed in a plane crash.

The victims included Jason Clark and his wife, Kelly Nelon Clark, along with their daughter, Amber Kistler, and her husband, Nathan Kistler. Also on board were Melodi Hodges, pilot Larry Haynie, and his wife, Melissa. There were no survivors. The group was en route to the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska when the crash occurred.

The youngest daughter of the Clarks, Autumn Nelon Streetman, released a statement following the news of the crash.

“As many of you have heard by now, my father and mother, Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, along with my sister, Amber, and brother-in-law, Nathan, as well as our dear friends Melodi Hodges, Larry and Melissa Haynie, were involved in a tragic plane crash on Friday,” she said. “Thank you for the prayers that have been extended already to me, my husband, Jamie, and our soon-to-be-born baby boy, as well as Jason’s parents, Dan and Linda Clark. We appreciate your continued prayers, love and support as we navigate the coming days.”

As reported by Fox News, “The crash occurred about 1 p.m. in Campbell County, Wyoming, north of Gillette and about 250 miles north of Cheyenne, according to a statement from Campbell County spokesperson Leslie Perkins.”

National Transportation Safety Board spokesman Keith Holloway reported that there is currently an investigation underway into the cause of the crash.

“The aircraft is in a remote location and once they gain access, they will begin documenting the scene, examining the aircraft,” Holloway said. “The aircraft will then be recovered and taken to a secure facility for further evaluation.”

Archaeologists have unearthed a massive fortification in Jerusalem, believed to have protected the city’s biblical kings some 3,000 years ago. This discovery, hailed as “monumental” and “dramatic,” resolves a long-standing mystery regarding the City of David’s ancient defenses.

The excavation, ongoing since 2007 near the Givati Parking Lot—the largest active archaeological site in Jerusalem—has revealed a variety of historical layers, spanning from the Middle Ages back to ancient times. The latest find is a remnant of a moat that once bisected the City of David, separating the royal palace and Temple Mount from the rest of the city, including the Ophel.

This fortification corresponds with the city’s division mentioned in the Bible as Ophel and Millo. A biblical reference of the discovery can be found in 1 Kings 11:27, where it is stated, “And this was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breaches of the City of David his father.” The identification of this moat, which features sheer, unclimbable cliffs on both sides, marks the resolution of a 150-year-old archaeological puzzle concerning Jerusalem’s northern defenses.

The origins of the moat remain unclear, but it is evident that it was utilized during the time when Jerusalem served as the capital of the Kingdom of Judah, starting nearly 3,000 years ago. Tel Aviv University’s Professor Yuval Gadot and Dr. Yiftach Shalu from the Israel Antiquities Authority note that during this period, the moat delineated the city’s expansion to the south, where the general populace resided, from the Acropolis—the upper city, which housed the palace and temple on the Temple Mount.

The moat’s discovery, which spans at least 70 meters from west to east, has prompted a reexamination of past excavation reports, particularly those by British archaeologist Kathleen Kenyon in the 1960s. This discovery also rekindles discussions about biblical terms related to Jerusalem’s topography, specifically Ophel and Millo.

Eli Escusido, Director of the Israel Antiquities Authority, expressed his awe at the discovery, noting that the excavations in the City of David continue to reveal new insights into biblical literature. “When you stand at the bottom of this giant excavation, surrounded by enormous hewn walls, it is impossible not to be filled with wonder and appreciation for those ancient people who, about 3,800 years ago, literally moved mountains and hills,” he remarked.
