7 Powerful Benefits of Jesus’ Blood

In the Scriptures, we find many benefits concerning what the blood of Jesus has done for us.

We overcome the devil and his works when we testify to what Jesus’ blood has accomplished.

We become like those believers who are already in heaven, having followed Him faithfully all the way: “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death” (Rev. 12:11, NIV).

Jesus’ triumph over the powers of darkness is reinforced whenever we agree with and declare the benefits of His precious shed blood.

In Christ’s blood, we receive life that death cannot conquer.

Jesus has established a new covenant through His blood, and He intercedes on our behalf to enable us to enter more fully into His blood covenant with us. (See Romans 8:34.)

7 Benefits of the Blood of Jesus

Jesus’ blood accomplishes at least seven distinct benefits to complete our salvation:

  1. Forgiven –You and I have been forgiven through the blood that Jesus shed when He gave up His life. “Without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness” (Heb. 9:22, NASB). For this reason, confidence, peace and joy can now replace condemnation, anxiety and grief in our lives.
  2. Cleansing – Our consciences have been washed by the blood of Christ Jesus because we have truly been purified from all sin. (See Hebrews 9:14.) “But if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
  3. Redemption – Forgiven and cleansed, we find that we have been redeemed from the clutches of the powers of darkness. We are no longer forced to live in the dark, because we have been transferred into the kingdom of light (see Colossians 1:12-12 NIV, TLB), where the beloved Son of God appears in glory: In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sings, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace ” (Eph. 1:7, NIV).
  4. Justification – It is one thing to believe that you are forgiven, cleansed and redeemed, but it is another to believe that it is just as if you have never sinned in the first place. “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor. 5:21, NKJV). When I am justified, it is “just as if I’d” never sinned. I am righteous. I now belong to the King and have obtained citizenship in His kingdom. I have a fresh passport that says, “Citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven.”
  5. Sanctification – Now we can take it one step further and declare that we have been set apart for a holy calling—sanctified. Each believer is a special vessel set apart for God. Only Jesus’ blood can make this possible. Because of Him, we can walk on the straight and narrow way. (See Matthew 7:14.) “Make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed” (Heb. 12:13, NASB).
  6. Peace – Because of Jesus’ blood, we can have perfect peace. There will still be plenty of battles to fight, but the outcome has been determined on Calvary: “It was through what his Son did that God cleared a path for everything to come to him—all things in heaven and on earth—for Christ’s death on the cross has made peace with God for all by his blood” (Col. 1:20, TLB).
  7. Access to the throne – Jesus’ blood has made possible your complete reconciliation with the Holy Father in heaven. Now, covered as you are in the blood of Christ, you are like the high priest who was invited to enter the Most Holy Place—without being struck dead. You can enter the most holy throne room of heaven with perfect impunity: “And so, dear brothers, now we may walk right into the very Holy of Holies, where God is, because of the blood of Jesus” (Heb. 10:19).

Because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross, we have all this and heaven besides!

In your own life, how have you testified to what the blood of Jesus Christ has accomplished?

How have you spoken of it (out loud) and declared with joy the benefits He has won for you?

Even when you proclaim it within the privacy of your prayer closet, the enemy gets blinded with the glory of heaven!

All praise, honor and worship to the Lamb of God for what He has done on the cross! The blood of Christ avails for you and for me!

Target Practice

Pray and proclaim this prayer about the power of Christ’s blood, which I was taught by Derek Prince [Derek Prince, Prayers and Proclamations (New Kensington, PA: Whitaker House, 2010), 163-164].

Pray it for yourself and for others:

– Through the blood of Jesus, I am redeemed out of the hand of the devil.

– Through the blood of Jesus, all my sins are forgiven.

– The blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, continually cleanses me from all sin.

– Through the blood of Jesus, I am justified, made righteous, just-as-if-I’d-never sinned.

– Through the blood of Jesus, I am sanctified, made holy, set apart to God.

– My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, redeemed, cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

– Satan has no place in me, no power over me, through the blood of Jesus! Amen. {eoa}

How You Can Flow in the River of Living Water

Read Time: 5 Minutes, 2 Seconds

A river is a source of life. As it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual. Jesus told His disciples that if we believe in Him, “rivers of living water” will flow out from within us, from our hearts.

Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart'” (John 7:38, NLT).

As followers of Christ, we are blessed with this supernatural flow in our lives. Let’s come step into the river of God. Let’s wade in further. Let’s swim deep in the river of God!

River of Living Water

Jesus was led by the Spirit to do what the Father was doing. He was grounded in the Word of God and He was sensitive to the flow of the anointing coming upon Him and through Him.

What is the anointing? It is God’s power released to accomplish His supernatural purposes. It can manifest like a feeling, a surge of authority or a presence of calm and peace that comes upon you.

Every believer can and should learn how to flow with the Spirit in his/her everyday life.

You and I can learn to pay closer attention to the divine flow upon and through our own lives, and using emotional language can help us understand what God is doing.

Most of the time, we will not be praying over someone for healing; we will be just going through our ordinary routines. During those long stretches of “just living,” we can and should be able to stay in close touch with the Holy Spirit.

We can keep moving in the river of God’s presence, for example, by noticing our fruit-of-the-Spirit feelings — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control. Pay attention to how you are feeling during the day, even when your feelings are subtle, and express your delight to the Lord.

You may find yourself saying:

– “I feel so loved! Now I know a little better what it means to be the beloved of the Lord.”

– “I can’t stop laughing! The joy of the Lord is my strength.” (See Nehemiah 8:10.)

– “I can’t think of anything except _______. It’s like a weight on my soul. Help me with it, Lord.”

– “That heavy burden has lifted at last and I can sense the peace and grace of God.”

– “Oh, look at that beautiful _______! I’m so grateful for the beauty around me, Lord.”

– “My heart feels lighter and my whole being feels refreshed. Being in the presence of God is wonderful.”

– “That music brings tears of joy to my eyes.”

– “Father, I can feel Your comforting hand on my shoulder and now I know I’m Your child. You help me every day.”

– “I can feel quiet strength coming into my soul. Now I know I’ll make it through this long trial.”

When the Holy Spirit is directing you to reach out to others in service or ministry, you may sense His guidance in various ways. You may feel pain or heat in a specific part of your body when the Lord is present to heal someone through your prayers. When He wants you to step into a leadership role, you may feel something like the weight of a mantle settling on your shoulders or you may feel something touch your forehead.

You may feel the compassion of the Lord toward someone and, with it, an inspiration to meet that person’s need in the power and grace of God. You may sense the presence of supernatural faith in someone and identify it so that the person can release it for its intended purpose. You may see, either with your natural eyes or with the eyes of your spirit, angels or other manifestations of the Lord’s presence.

At times, a person may simply cross your mind. If you are paying attention, you will know whether God wants you to reach out to the person in some way at that moment and whether He wants you to stop what you’re doing and pray for the person. You could pick up on just about anything with your senses and God will always supply the “interpretation” so you know what to do. It is my hope and prayer that you will be better equipped to operate in the feeler realm with integrity and joy.

Word and Spirit Together

To move into the greater works of Jesus, we need a marriage between the two very necessary, complementary aspects of the kingdom of God — the Word of God and the Spirit of God. We need to return to the Acts 13 model in which the school of the Word and the school of the Spirit cooperated together. (See Acts 13:1–2.)

By combining our gifts in the grace of God, we can step into the greater-works generation with those who have taken to heart Jesus’ words in John 14:12 (NLT): “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.”

If we work together, God’s power can flow freely and revive the dry places on the face of the earth. Let’s drink deeply and allow His refreshing river to spill out!

“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price…. And the Lord will continually guide you, and satisfy your desire in scorched places, and give strength to your bones; and you will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail” (Isa. 55:1, MEV; 58:11, NASB).

Let’s rejoice! This is an exciting time to see God’s river flowing out! Praise the Lord; it is a new day and there are fresh understandings for a new era!

Prayer of a Passionate Heart

“Father, I am amazed at Your ways and I purpose to unite myself with Your people as You lead me. I am grateful for all of the streams and tributaries that are joining together into a mighty river of life in this day. I pray to know and flow in that river of Your presence and power. I give all the glory to You. Send Your Spirit more powerfully, for Jesus Christ’s sake, as I offer thanksgiving and praise in His mighty name. Again, I say, amen!” {eoa}

James Goll: Can You Delay the Return of Jesus?

The Day of His Appearing

In the midst of all that is happening around the world today, are you and I able to accelerate the return of Jesus?

Some would say we absolutely cannot hasten the return of the Lord because, in their theological take on the providence of God, everything is preordained.

I believe very much in the sovereignty of God. I also believe He gave us free will, and He invites us into the mystery and destiny of being a co-laborer with Christ.

As we consider whether we can hasten His appearing, let’s ask another question: Is it possible that we can cause it to be delayed? It is an interesting concept, is it not?

The Bible seems to suggest that we can either hasten or delay the coming of the Lord:

“What sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!” (2 Pet. 3:11-12).

Without majoring on the dimensions of calamity in this passage, let’s look at our part in the coming day of the Lord. Peter suggests that “holy conduct and godliness” will hasten “the coming of the day of God.” Your life and your lifestyle can be part of hastening the coming of Messiah, when the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!”

I also firmly believe that prayer can change the course of events. One of our models is Daniel in captivity in Babylon. He read the prophetic promise of an earlier generation—but he did more than just read it. He sought God earnestly that the promise would be fulfilled:

“I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the word of the Lord given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years. So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes” (Dan. 9:2-3, NIV).

What was the promise? That at the end of 70 years of captivity in Babylon, Judah would be released and return to its homeland. Daniel read the prophecy of Jeremiah from an earlier generation, then sought God to remove the hindrances that stood in the way, so the promise could be fulfilled. He did not assume that the timeline would automatically take place. He took on himself the mandate to remind God of His Word and see God’s Word come to pass.

That is the dynamic of intercession—how we can hasten a promise to come to fruition.

‘In Like Manner’

Now to another question: How will Jesus appear? The angels told the disciples, “‘This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven'” (Acts 1:11, NKJV). This absolutely amazes me.

Since I like to ponder phrases, let’s consider the phrase in like manner. What could that mean? Surely Jesus will come back down out of heaven, but to where? The Mount of Olives on the outskirts of Jerusalem.

But there is more to it than that.

What are some possible “in like manner” scenarios? I believe there are at least four:

1. He will return in similar historic circumstances to the demographic and political situation in Israel and the entire Middle East at the time He left.

2. He will return in like manner to the Jewish people living in the promised land as when He was taken up, as today many Jews live in the land, and more continue to return from the nations of the earth.

3. He will return in similar spiritual circumstances to when He lived in the land, when there were scribes and Pharisees as well as ordinary Jews who were believers in Yeshua. Today there are Orthodox Jews and Messianic believers in the land.

4. He will return in like manner as when He was taken up, since the world powers of Greece, Magog, Babylon and Persia are realigning themselves.

Restoration

Before the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, there must be a restoration of all things. Let’s listen to Peter on the Day of Pentecost:

“Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things, about which God spoke by the mouths of His holy prophets from ancient times” (Acts 3:19-21).

Restoration happens in reverse order. Let me explain that with a simple analogy.

I have often mentioned that my earthly father was a carpenter. He made furniture and was very involved with antiques. So I grew up around shellac, which was applied to wood furniture as a stain and sealer. Some old pieces of furniture have layers of shellac as well as layers of paint, as the owners over the years have added their preferences to the pieces. Well-made furniture passed down through generations of a family can have a dozen layers of finish. To restore the piece to its original beauty, each layer starting from the top needs to be removed.

In the same way, God is restoring His creation, from where we are (at the “top”) to return to the original (at the very base). Think of it, in a sense, as the book of Acts reversed.

Consider that God’s restoration involves five stages, starting with stage 5 and moving back to stage 1:

— Stage 5: Worldwide evangelism, along with the realignment of the political systems of the nations. That is the end of the book of Acts.

— Stage 4: The regathering of the Jews, the restoration of Israel and the restoration of unity in the body of Christ.

— Stage 3: Intercession, persecution, tribulation and signs and wonders with a revival focus, including a back-to-Jerusalem movement.

— Stage 2: The fire of the Holy Spirit falling, accompanied by a glory realm of God and the nations entering the valley of decision.

— Stage 1: Jesus will return in like manner to the way He departed: the return, the great hope, the Second Coming, the return of Messiah Jesus!

Back to the Beginning

When Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost, he quoted the book of Joel. In my summation of this book, I am going to do likewise—take us to the place of the beginning, which is also the place of the ending: the book of Joel.

Peter saw on the Day of Pentecost what Joel had declared prophetically: “This is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel” (Acts 2:16). Hundreds of years earlier, Joel had prophesied, “I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind” (Joel 2:28). So if this was that, then let’s go to the model of Joel and see what else he might have to tell us regarding the great hope—the Second Coming of Jesus.

The book of Joel evokes a chain reaction that is significant as it relates to Acts 2—the empowering of the early church by the Holy Spirit and its relation to the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Joel ties together three elements to create a chain reaction, an acceleration, the consummation of the ages:

1. Intensive intercession, the global prayer movement today.

2. The fire of revival in the midst of shaking world events.

3. The return of Jesus Christ as the conquering King.

We have done a quick romp, a restoration in reverse of the book of Acts. We have looked at some ways that the Lord Jesus can return “in like manner.” We have seen parallels between the book of Acts, the book of Joel and the book of Revelation. That starts with fire and ends with, “And the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.'”

We Will Behold Him!

I pray that you will be renewed in the washing of the water of the Word and are being prepared to receive the fire of Pentecost, the birthmark of the church. I believe you can receive right now, right where you are, because His plan is personal and includes you.

“Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen” (Rev. 1:7).

Here is the resolution of the conflict of the ages—when the Son of Man, the Son of God, splits the skies and comes with His saints and angels, and every eye will behold Him. The mystery has now been revealed: that Christ Jesus is the Messiah of Jew and Gentile alike. He is the answer to every person’s questions. He is the risen Savior and Lord, and we will behold Him, the Lamb of God.

Will you come into agreement with God’s heart for His great plan for Israel, the Middle East and all the nations of the earth?

A Personal Prayer

Father, we declare that it is a great honor and privilege to live in these days that are like none other, yet were spoken of by the holy prophets of old. So pour out Your Spirit on all people. Release dreams, visions and revelations. Join the generations for such a time as this. Pierce the Islamic veil. Convict us of our idols. Cleanse our house. Restore Your house with fire, power, character and integrity. We declare that the mystery and the destiny of Israel ultimately is about the great hope, the Second Coming of the Messiah.

We do come into agreement with Your great plan for Israel, the Middle East and all the nations of the earth. We lift our hearts to You, our Lord and our King, and we cry out together. The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Even so, Prince of Peace, come quickly. Lord Jesus, come for Your honor and for Your glory and for the great global end-time harvest, when You, Jesus, will receive the reward of Your sufferings. Amen and amen. {eoa}

James Goll Prophesies: God Has a Dream for You

God has a dream for you.

Do you ask God questions at night? I often do (and I encourage you to do this too).

Recently, I was going to sleep, and I prayed: God, do you have a dream? If You have a dream, would You like to share Your dream with me? And if You share Your dream with me, would You give me permission to share Your dream with others?

I wasn’t asking God If He had a dream about a certain city, a certain ministry, or a word for my life. I was asking God if He had a particular dream in His heart.

After this I fell asleep, and I had a very simple dream in which I saw myself sitting up in bed with my Bible opened. I could hear myself reading from Isaiah 60:1-3, “Arise shine for your light has come. And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness, the peoples, but the Lord will arise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising.”

I woke up from this dream to find myself sitting up in bed with my arms outstretched in praise to the Lord, prophesying Isaiah 60:1-3 out loud. This is fascinating because I had just asked God, “do You have a dream?”

God Has a Dream: You Partnering with Him in the Great Harvest

This is God’s dream: He welcomes you to partner with Him to see the greatest glory realm and harvest the world has ever seen.

In this encounter, God turned the question back on me—in a sense, He said, “I have a dream, but My dream includes you. My dream is for you. And My dream includes you, because My dream is about a divine participation, where together we are going to see the greatest harvest that the world has ever seen.”

God’s dream involves you. His glory will appear amid the greatest times of darkness on earth, and where even people of great influence will experience genuine changes of heart.

Don’t you think that’s a pretty good dream?

God’s dream includes you. He wants His dream to come to pass by partnering through you.

So, I want to give you a word of exhortation—God’s dream is for you to partner with him in the greatest harvest the world has ever seen. Will you partner with God’s dream?

This article has been adapted from the Preface, “God Has a Dream” in James Goll’s new book: Revival Breakthrough.

Prophet: Learning to Listen With Discernment

Learning to listen with discernment means that you begin to recognize the voice of God so well that other voices sound unfamiliar.

In John 10:5a, Jesus told his followers, “Yet they will never follow a stranger.” This statement needs to become a reality in your life. It takes practice and requires that you learn well the lessons in listening with discernment offered to all of us by the Holy Spirit.

Don’t be so overly zealous, that instead of making the time to take driver’s training classes, you quickly get into the fastest car you can find and go off to the races.

Some, sad to say, end up in a ditch or become a casualty of driving without a license! But you can avoid the ditches.

First, get your permit while being mentored by others, and then graduate to driving alone. Where hearing God is concerned, driver’s education consists of discernment lessons.

The Need for Discerning of Spirits

The gift of discerning of spirits, which is listed in the New Testament as one of the gifts of the Spirit, is desperately needed in today’s church culture. This gift helps you distinguish what motivates spiritual activity. It helps you see through the gray areas and differentiate light from darkness.

The following are some examples of the gift of discerning of spirits in operation:

— Acts 16:16-18, where Paul discerned that the power of a certain slave girl was in fact a demonic spirit.

— Acts 13:8-11, where Paul discerned that Elymas the magician was demonically energized in his attempt to oppose the presentation of the gospel.

— Acts 14:8-10, where again Paul discerned (“saw”) that a man had faith to be healed.

— When a person is able to discern whether or not a problem in someone’s life is demonic or merely the consequence of other emotional and psychological factors, or perhaps a complex combination of both.

— When people with this gift are often able to detect or discern the presence of demonic spirits in a room or some such location.

— In Acts 8:20-24, Peter was said to “see” (not physically, but to perceive or sense) that Simon Magus was filled with bitterness and iniquity.

— It would seem that Jesus exercised something along the lines of this gift when he looked at Nathanael and described him as a man “in which is no guile” (John 1:47). In John 2:25 it is said that Jesus “knew what was in man.”

Bottom line: This gift helps you to see below the bottom line!

The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing

When the outward appearance of a wolf is disguised, the human eye cannot immediately discern the wolf. However, the sheepdog will not be deceived, even by the sheep’s clothing.

He is not deceived because he does not judge by his eyesight but by his sense of smell. The wolf may look like a sheep, but he still smells like a wolf.

In Scripture, discernment is like a sense of smell, acting independently of the natural eyesight.

Isaiah the prophet, foreseeing the ministry of Jesus as the Messiah, the anointed one, declares that “the spirit of the Lord … shall make him of quick understanding [literally, quick of scent] in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears” (Isa. 11:2-3, KJV).

Those to whom God commits the care of His sheep must likewise, through the Holy Spirit, be quick of scent.

Wisely Judging Revelation

What would you think if you had a spiritual experience that made your hair stand on end? Would you write it off as absolutely satanic or crazy because it didn’t fit into your theological grid?

Consider some of the experiences of Daniel, Isaiah or Ezekiel recorded in the Old Testament.

Daniel lay weary for days because of the impact of a supernatural vision.

Isaiah had his lips seared by a burning coal.

Ezekiel was forced to lie on his side for 390 days straight.

Then there’s Zechariah, Paul and John, the beloved disciple. An angel strikes Zechariah dumb; Paul is blinded; and John sees visions of such magnitude that the entire book of Revelation is inadequate to record them.

We need the gift of discernment, don’t we?

Most of us in the Western world, if confronted with such events, would tend to chalk them up to psychological disturbances or the devil.

Entire segments of the body of Christ have written off hearing from the Lord because of fears about being deceived and led astray.

It’s true that such experiences can come from the supernatural power of the enemy, from the human mind or from God Himself. Yet God wants us to recognize His voice, and our master is very capable of preserving us from harm and deception.

We can trust our Father. If we ask Him for the things of the Holy Spirit in the name of Christ, we will get the real things, not counterfeits. Two of His best gifts are wisdom and discernment. We need to stick close to Jesus and ask God to enable us to grow in them!

9 Scriptural Tests for Receiving Divine Revelation

The only way we can accurately and safely approach interpreting the motivation behind revelatory activity of any kind is to ask God for the spirit of wisdom and understanding. God still speaks today through many different avenues, including visions, dreams, His inner voice, His external audible voice, His creation and so forth.

Yet our most important source of revelation is the canon of Scripture. Since the Bible is our absolute standard against which we must test spiritual experiences, let’s look at nine scriptural tests.

To be assured of receiving accurate and valid revelation, we can apply the following list of nine scriptural tests.

1. Does the revelation edify, exhort or console? (See 1 Cor. 14:3, 26.)

2. Is it in agreement with God’s Word? (See 2 Tim. 3:16.)

3. Does it exalt Jesus Christ? (See John 16:14 and Rev. 19:10.)

4. Does it have good fruit? (See Matt. 7:15-16, Gal. 5:22-23 and Eph. 5:9.)

5. If it predicts a future event, does it come to pass? (See Deut. 18:22.)

6. Does the revelatory turn people toward God or away from Him? (See Deut. 13:1-5.)

7. Does it produce liberty or bondage? (See Rom. 8:15, 1 Cor. 14:33 and 2 Tim. 1:7.)

8. Does it produce life or death? “For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” (See 2 Cor. 3:6, MEV.)

9. Does the Holy Spirit bear witness that it is true? (See 1 John 2:27 and John 16:13. )

May God give us the ability to walk in the grace of discerning His voice from all the “voices of strangers.” May you experience the fullness of the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (see Eph. 1:17-19).

Let’s pause to lift a prayer for listening with discernment:

Father God, Your Word tells me to not despise prophesying, to test all things and to hold fast to what is good. Teach me to discern Your voice. I lift up Your Word as my standard. Help me to be a wise steward of Your grace, dear Lord. Teach me to discern good from evil. Grant me a listening heart filled with wisdom and discernment. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen. {eoa}

Prophet: It’s Time to Dust Off Your Dreams

It’s time to dust off your dreams! Even if you’ve lived through some disappointments or disillusionment related to the dreams of your heart, I want you to know this: It is better to risk and have a life filled with some hope versus being someone who has no dreams fulfilled at all.

So roll the dice, take the risk and dare to believe again! Dust off your dreams!

Here Comes the Dreamer

My theme verse for you comes from Genesis 37:19, in the context of Joseph and his brothers. “Here comes that dreamer!” (Gen. 37:19, BSB). The first time his brothers said this, it was in a mocking manner. Then, after some time, they said this once again, but this time in a rather encouraging manner. Here is the word they said to him, “Here comes the dreamer.”

Wow! Here comes the dreamer.

Sometimes we label people. Sometimes we label ourselves in ways that are not encouraging at all, like “that guy is full of fantasy.” That person has “got a pipe dream.” But you know, you’re never too old to dream! And I have had several dreams. With some of them, I have had to deal with a lot of disappointment. But recently, I have had the honor of fulfilling some dreams. So, dust off your dreams!

In my transparent book, Tell Your Heart to Sing Again, I have a chapter entitled, “Let God Put a Dream in Your Heart.” This chapter starts off by stating, “‘God gave me another dream!’ The 17-year-old Joseph explained to his eleven brothers, as they gathered in the early morning light before heading out to the day’s task. ‘Let me tell you all about it.'”

God uses a refining process with all of us. Joseph had received a powerful dream from God, but had not yet been through this refining process. As you reexamine the dreams of your heart, it is important to work with God’s refining process (and something called “timing”). Sometimes it feels like there have been so many delays, but in the process, you must not forget about your dreams.

Recently, I’ve been living this out in my own life. So I’ve had a dream!

I’m Living Out a Generational Dream

In fact, I just realized about a month ago that my dream to be a singer was implanted in me from youth by my earthly father. I can see it now—our family in a little house in Cowgill, Missouri, watching on a little black-and-white television set. Later, I remember when we got our first color television, and it was like omnivision overnight!

When I was a little boy, I remember my dad saying to me when we watched The Lawrence Welk Show on television, I want you to go to Nashville and be a singer.” Somehow those simple words of my earthly father were deposited deep inside me.

Recently the impact and memory of my father’s words dawned on me, when I was preparing for and then actually recording vocals for my new album with a 24-voice choir and filming the music video at the Ocean Way Studio A, one of the state-of-the-art facilities in Nashville, Tennessee. The night before, my producer and I were at the David Davidson String Studio listening to the rapturous sounds of violins, violas and cellos. And it started settling in. I sighed something like, “Oh my goodness, this isn’t even fully my dream. I’m fulfilling my father’s dream for my life. I am recording! What? I’m living my father’s dream?”

When the recording session was over, Walt and Julie Meyer from Santa Maria, California, had been staying at my home in Franklin, Tennessee. Julie was given a dream in the morning after this entire event. Julie wrote, “Walt and I were staying at James Goll’s home, as we were part of recording the vocals for the video for the song, “Christmas Miracle.” Bob Jones appeared in my vivid dream, and James was in the dream too. Papa Bob Jones says, “What is needed is that we never give up on love. We never give up on faithfulness and never give up on friendship. And you never give up on your dreams.”

Never Give Up on Your Dreams!

Wow, what a dream. How timely and confirming! I say to you, “Never give up on God’s love. Remain faithful and steadfast in your friendship with Jesus and with others. Dust off your dreams! Never, Never, Never, give up on your dreams!”

Let it be said of you, “Here Comes the dreamer!” {eoa}

James Goll: The Unlimited Power of Prophetic Intercession

While the term is not found anywhere in the pages of Scripture, “prophetic intercession” is powerful because it allows you to lean into the heart of God and then pray His heart back to Him in accordance with His will.

Finding Words for Scriptural Principles

As far as I know, airplanes are not in the Bible.

School buses and bicycles are not mentioned, either.

The book of Leviticus does not say anything pro or con about contact lenses or television.

The term “Trinity” is not found anywhere in the Bible. Were you aware of that?

“God in three persons, blessed Trinity.” It’s in one of our greatest church hymns, “Holy, Holy, Holy.” It’s in some of our recited church history creeds. It has to be used in the Bible, somewhere, right? No. It isn’t.

Neither is the phrase Sunday school.

Now some of you just said, “I knew it the whole time!”

Does that mean Sunday school is unscriptural?

No. There are just some things that are not included in the Bible in so many words—although the applicable principles are.

That is the case with most of what I call the seven models of prophetic communication. In fact, I devoted an entire chapter to this non-biblical phrase in my book, The Prophet.

Though the principles of these seven diverse prophetic communication tools have been drawn 100% from the Bible, you will not technically find these words listed out anywhere in any of the gift lists in the pages of Scripture.

Prophetic Intercession Is Revelatory Prayer

Revelatory prayer is one of the most common expressions of the prophetic spirit and is often referred to as “prophetic intercession.”

These are God-directed prayers, not preaching or exhortation.

Inspired by God and directed back to Him, they make it possible for you to pray effectively and according to God’s will.

On your own, you cannot come up with prayers that hit the mark so accurately. Since these prayers are inspired by the Spirit of God, they express the desires of His heart back to Him. Often, they express much more than you could have understood in the natural (on your own) about a given matter.

Prophetic Prayers Are Recorded in the Bible

Paul wove some into his epistles, for example this one:

“May the very God of peace sanctify you completely. And I pray to God that your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, who also will do it” (1 Thess. 5:23–24).

In the New Testament, other prophetic prayers, both long and brief, include Luke 1:67–79, Ephesians 3:16–19, Philippians 1:9–11, Colossians 1:9–12, Romans 15:5–7, Romans 15:13, 1 Thessalonians 3:9–13, 2 Thessalonians 1:11–12 and 2 Thessalonians 3:1–5.

Most prophetic prayers in the Old Testament are long and eloquent. You can read samples in Ezra 9:6–15, Nehemiah 9:6–37, Isaiah 25:1–12, Isaiah 38:9–20, Isaiah 64:1–12, Jeremiah 12:1–6 and Jeremiah 20:7–18.

As with any prophetic or prayerful expression, it is not the eloquence that is important but rather the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. After all, He does not always use words; He is the one who sometimes prays “with groanings too deep for words” (Rom. 8:26).

Yes, revelatory prayer can be incredibly powerful and effective.

It takes the believer outside the realm of information only and into a dimension of intercession with which they might be less familiar. The Holy Spirit leads you by the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to pray for people, events and, at times, even crisis circumstances in a manner that only He can guide and direct.

Prophetic prayer has been used by God’s generals in the past. Revelatory prayer is one of the weapons waiting to be used by God’s generals and His growing global prayer army today.

So, join me, and let’s enter into God’s heart so that we can pray His desires back to Him and see His kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven!

Let’s Pray Together

Father, in the name of Jesus, whose name is the mightiest of all names, we hunger to experience more prophetic diversity than we have ever before. Take the lid off of our thinking and expand our hearts to receive more of Your revelation and understanding and to know how to share it with others. You are the Creator, and we want to see You make something new in our lives.

We do not want to be limited to one model of prophetic expression but, rather, to become clay in Your hands, able to follow Your creative impulses. We want to see many pure and authentic manifestations of Your prophetic ways here and now. And lead us into effective ways of prophetic prayer for Jesus Christ’s sake and because of His love, we say amen! {eoa}

Prophet: Why We Must Catch the Mordecai Anointing

The dark spirit of antisemitism—or what may be called “the spirit of Haman,” named after the man in the book of Esther who plotted to exterminate the Jewish people in the days of King Artaxerxes—is on the move across the world today.

We Christians have a dangerous tendency to consider biblical narratives such as the story of Esther, Mordecai and Haman as myths or children’s stories. On the contrary, these stories are real and instructive to us today. The Bible declares, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness” (2 Tim. 3:16).

The fact is the ancient spirit of genocide yields only to the power of God, which can be released only by a people who, like Esther’s cousin Mordecai, pray and fast and even put themselves at personal risk, as Esther did.

Today I am convinced that we are destined to relive the book of Esther in this generation. Her older cousin, Mordecai, warned her about Haman’s plot against the Jewish exiles (see Esth. 3-4). Let’s take a deeper look at the call of God on Mordecai. What was his God-given task, his divine assignment?

Mordecai’s job was to prepare Queen Esther for her hour of influence before the king. He had raised Esther as his own daughter. He did not bow down or pay homage to Haman, a scheming man of influence in the kingdom, but worshipped only the one true God. When he learned of Haman’s scheme to annihilate the Jews, he revealed it with wisdom to the queen, whose Jewish identity was known to only him.

He walked in prophetic counsel and instilled courage in Esther. Esther, properly tutored and mentored by her cousin’s counsel, seized the moment through prayer and fasting. Alongside Mordecai, Esther entered into an urgent act of crisis intervention: a three-day fast from all food and drink of any kind. Then Esther launched an appeal to the king—who could have had her executed, since he had not summoned her—for the deliverance of her fellow Jews from their sworn enemy. Esther was anointed to intervene and stand in the gap, yet she had to walk in cooperation with the preparation of Mordecai, the spiritual authority God had placed in her life. Her intervention would not succeed unless she had first cooperated.

If there had been no Mordecai, then there would have been no Esther, and then all the Jews in the empire would have been annihilated! Now is the time for the modern-day Mordecais to rise up and for the modern-day Esther to be prepared.

We must catch the Mordecai anointing and be people who prepare corporate Esther, the church, for this critical time We need to call forth the same anointing for crisis intervention that was upon Rees Howells at Swansea Bible College during World War II

Together we can make history before the throne of God through the power of effective intercession. {eoa}

5 Prophetic Insights for 2022: A Time Like No Other

As I have prayed into this coming year, the Lord has given me five prophetic words (or insights) for 2022.

I reference this as a “A Time Like No Other.” Isn’t that ever the truth! Here are the revelations the Holy Spirit has shared with me concerning 2022 and beyond.

1. When It’s Harvest Time for Your Life—Your harvest is right upon you. Yes, you heard me. It’s harvest time for your life. Just don’t quit and don’t give up. God wants to give you a “finishing anointing” to complete your assignment or task and finish it well! I have a word of exhortation for you. It’s harvest time for your life.

Let’s go to the Scriptures and let’s take a quick look at a pertinent lesson from the life of Noah, as recorded in Genesis 8:20-22 (NKJV).

“Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, ‘I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done. While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter, and summer, and day and night shall not cease.'”

Look at this! God is about to exhale. The first things that Noah did after the flood subsided was build an altar unto the Lord and offer up an acceptable sacrifice unto the Lord Most High. Then the Lord smelled the “soothing aroma” that Noah offered up after the flood, and He said to Himself, “I will never again curse the ground…”

This is so important to grasp. The very last thing that God breathed in became the next thing that God exhaled.

God breathed in an acceptable sacrifice, and then He breathed out an extravagant blessing! Mercy! Because what goes up comes back down! Oh, do you see it? Do you get it? Are you receiving this amazing insight?

You are about to have God exhale a blessing upon your life. Why? Because you have been sowing and sowing and sowing. And there yet remains seed time and harvest. So hang in there. Galatians 6:9 (NIV), “Let us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Yes, I have a word for you! I have a word of exhortation for you!

Your harvest is right upon you. It’s harvest time for your life.

I pray that the Holy Spirit strengthens you to keep your hand on that plow and not look back. The best has not past you by. Hope is standing right in front of you. Because there yet remains seed time and harvest. It’s harvest time for your life in Jesus’ name, Amen and Amen!

2. When Boldness Confronts Political Correctness—“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7).

I was given a dramatic dream that led to an open vision that was highly significant concerning the times in which we live. I was standing on the platform of Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena, California, and I was holding an ancient scroll like a prophet of old, with the sense of holiness all around me. As I unrolled the parchment, ink appeared and it read, “God has not given us a spirit of fear” (2 Tim. 1:7). I read it out loud as unusual authority was all over me.

Suddenly, Che Ahn, the founding apostle of HIM, was standing on my right side, and Cindy Jacobs, founder of Generals International, was standing at my left side. The three of us were now in agreement as apostles and prophets together, and we released together the spirit of boldness upon the body of Christ to confront the spirit of passivity and intimidation that had been permeating greater society.

I woke up out of this dream encounter and my bedroom was filled with “divine knowledge.” I now knew things I did not previously know. I knew that the Greek word used in that Scripture for fear was not the normal word, “phero,” but another word. I just knew this. I knew there was more to this Scripture than what I had ever been taught. I knew it was important to grasp this message and that it was imperative that we walk in humility and yet boldness. God wants to expose and confront the false narrative of “political correctness” within the church and then we will have actualized authority to deal with it in the nation.

I learned that the Greek word used in 2 Timothy 1:7 is “adleio,” which can be translated coward or cowardice. This word is only used twice in the entire New Testament. So the Holy Spirit is pointing out a place where we have had common ground with the power of darkness and calling us into repentance. He wants to clothe us with the opposite of the Spirit of boldness, as Jesus is from the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. Amen and Amen!

Sounds like Jesus is not yet finished turning over a few tables!

3. Greater Works Generation—A requirement to move into the greater works of Jesus, we need a convergence between the two very necessary, complementary aspects of the kingdom of God—the Word of God and the Spirit of God. We need to return to the Acts 13 model in which the School of the Word and the School of the Spirit cooperate. (See Acts 13:1–2.)

No more competition! But rather, divine cooperation!

By combining our gifts in the grace of God, we can step into the greater works generation with those who have taken to heart Jesus’ words in John 14:12 (NLT): “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.”

By working together in divine orchestration, God’s power can flow freely and revive the dry places on the face of the earth. Therefore, let’s drink deeply for ourselves and then turn around and release His refreshing river with great intentionally upon others.

“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price…. And the Lord will continually guide you, and satisfy your desire in scorched places, and give strength to your bones; and you will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail” (Isaiah 55:1, NKJV; 58:11, NASB).

This is a critical and pivotal time where we must see the river of God’s presence not only flowing into the temple of God, but equally flowing out! This is a part of the new ways for the new era.

It’s a time to go APE. We will now add the “BIG E.” We have emphasized the apostolic and the prophetic over the last two decades. Now we will see a new era of the evangelist emerge once again. This is the primary missing ingredient for the release of the greater works generation. But the time is now!

4. When the Power of Gratitude Opens the Way Forward—“Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner” (Luke 17:18, NKJV).

Are you aware of this powerful lesson on gratitude, as recorded in Luke 17:12-19? There were ten desperate lepers, and they were each cleansed of this dreadful disease by the Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. But surprisingly, only one of these former lepers returned to give glory to God and express gratitude with thanksgiving.

According to Psalm 100, we enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Did you know there is power in gratitude? The one leper was not only cleansed, but was he was made whole. How? By returning and giving thanks for the partial healing he had already received.

Let’s be among those who touch the heart of God by being grateful for the partial, for the little bit. Don’t be a grumbler and complainer. Be grateful for the completed work of the cross of Jesus Christ in your life. You will move forward from the partial into fullness through the power of gratitude!

Let’s give glory to God by being grateful!

5. When You Have Done All—You Take a Stand!—“Therefore take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (Eph. 6:13, NKJV).

There are defining moments in individual lives, the lives of families, generations and entire societies. We are at such a crossroads. You may feel like you have prayed every prayer, fasted, taken up the shield of faith, made declarations and been properly aligned. You may have gone through your checklist once, then twice and even a third time. Every box is checked.

I have been there as well! I have fought through a recent infestation of mold in my house, followed by a horrible battle with COVID in my personal life. This has been a critical moment in time for me when some would “toss in the towel” and give up!

But now what? Where do we go from here? And when you have done all, “Take a stand!”

We must learn that we do not buckle under, and we do not flinch. Take up your shield of faith and stand firm. Plant your feet in the Word of God and don’t budge.

Believe me, there are forces that are at work attempting to push you down and topple you over. I have learned that victory is defined different ways in different seasons.

In a recent dream, it stated to me this way, “So when you take a stand and stand tall!” You can stand slumped over. No! Stand tall! You will gain new strength as you take your stand with your shield of faith. You will hear new marching orders to walk forward arm in arm with the other comrades who have weathered the storm.

Yes, the Global Storm Prayer is rising once again. The storm chasers are here! “And when you have done all, take a firm stand!”

Prayer of Thanksgiving and Declarations for 2022!

Thank you Father for all You have done in 2021. You have provided for me and cared for me. You are indeed attentive to every detail of my life. Even though I may have suffered loss, You are faithful and all You do is good! As I turn the corner into 2022, I thank You for all You are going to do and declare the following truths: 1. It is harvest time for my life. 2. I receive boldness (in place of cowardice) to confront political correctness as the Holy Spirit directs in my life. 3. I will be part of the greater works generation walking in both the Word and Spirit of God, embracing evangelism. 4. I will embrace a lifestyle of gratitude to You in all things! 5. I will take up the armor of God and stand tall in 2022! Thank you for these prophetic words for 2022 and help me to embody them in my life this year. {eoa}

Prophet: Filling Every Clay Pot With God’s Glory

Some years ago, I was teaching from Habakkuk 2:14 that the glory of the Lord will cover the earth as the waters cover the seas. The topic, to a certain degree, was theoretical.

Then the Holy Spirit asked me, “How will that happen?” Not knowing the answer, I said back to Him, “Oh, how will that happen?”

Always remember, the best way to answer a question from God is to ask Him what the answer is. He does not ask a question because He does not know the answer. Every question He asks is an invitation into greater partnership with Him.

So, while I was teaching the class and declaring God’s Word, I was actually having a personal exchange with the Holy Spirit, although the students did not know about this behind-the-scenes discussion.

When I returned the question to God, He answered, “One clay pot at a time. I will fill the earth with My glory one clay pot at a time.”

We are those clay pots. We are the clay pot watchmen who are to be ready and prepared to cover the earth with the glory of the Lord.

Did you know that God has a calendar with appointments waiting to be fulfilled? Watchmen remind God of the appointments on His calendar that have not been fully met and fulfilled. The task of a watchman is by appointment. It means being chosen for the divine privilege of composing history before the throne of the Almighty.

I want to be a history-maker; that is the goal of my life. Are you ready to make a difference? The recipe for enduring change is that simple. Yes, prayer provokes change!

Are you taking your biblical place on the wall for Israel’s sake? Israel is the apple of God’s eye (Zech. 2:8) and the people through which He has chosen to bring salvation and blessing to the whole earth. His heart is that all Israel will be saved (Rom. 9:26). Just as the call for watchmen went out in Isaiah’s time, the Holy Spirit is releasing this strategic call again in the 21st century for His bride to pray for Israel.

It seems as if God has been conducting a monumental chess game throughout the ages, waiting for the strategic moment in history to make His move. Yes, the playing board has been set and the pieces have been chosen. The call for watchmen is the strategic positioning of His intercessory knights and prophetic bishops being brought together for a sweeping move—one that all the world will observe closely. No eye will miss this mysterious and fascinating time. We must pray, therefore, for our eyes to be opened with spiritual understanding.

Life to the World

The Jewish people’s acceptance of the Messiah, Jesus, will lead to worldwide revival of unprecedented magnitude. Romans 11:15 (NASB) says that if Israel’s rejection of Christ “proves to be the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?” Wow!

I was once interviewed for a documentary focused on the literal raising of the dead. I was asked, “What would be the greatest resurrection you would like to see?” My response? “One of the greatest resurrections would be that the body of Christ is raised from the dead, and that we would take our place on the walls for Israel’s sake.” I firmly believe that we are that important for Israel’s salvation—and because her salvation is a key to worldwide revival. If Israel’s rejection of Christ meant that the Gentile world was given the gospel of the kingdom, resulting in reconciliation with God, what will be Israel’s reward be for their acceptance of Christ as the Messiah? God’s Word says, “Life from the dead.”

This prophecy of Isaiah—”In the days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will blossom and sprout, and they will fill the whole earth with fruit” (27:6)—refers to more than just natural fruit. Praying for Israel is one of the major keys to world revival.

The Jewish people, being awakened out of their sleep and beholding their Messiah, will create a divine acceleration into a time when hundreds of thousands, if not literally millions, turn to Jesus as their Messiah. There is nothing more potent than a Jewish believer telling others about the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Israel’s acceptance of her glorious Messiah will be used to create the greatest spiritual awakening this planet has ever seen. The whole earth will be filled with the fruit of revival and the glory of God. I pray toward this end! Will you join me?

Crying Out for God’s Glory

The Lord answers when we cry out to Him. And Israel’s history shows a clear pattern of people who, time and again, found themselves in trouble, cried out to the Lord and saw Him deliver them out of their adversity.

It is my conviction, and that of many other leaders in the body of the Messiah, that the Holy Spirit is opening a strategic window of opportunity for the Gentile Church to arise “for such a time as this” (Esth. 4:14). We must pray and take a stand as never before in all of church history for God’s purposes to be fulfilled in Israel, in the Jewish people and in all the descendants of Abraham.

The church in this pivotal hour is recovering the lost weapon of fasting. Spiritual crisis intervention is launched from the biblical foundation of prayer with fasting.

Will you join me? Let’s pray until Israel’s destiny is met and fulfilled.

Will you lift up your voice to fill up every clay pot with His glory? Will you join me? Let your cry arise. Receive your appointment as a vessel of history-making intercession for such a time as this. Allow the Holy Spirit to give you guidance and instruction. {eoa}
