Louisiana native Lauren Daigle is celebrating what she sees as “vindication” after performing at the pregame show for the Super Bowl.

The 33-year-old Christian recording artist joined jazz musician Trombone Shorty on Sunday for a rendition of “America the Beautiful” at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

Daigle’s participation in the major sporting event is an about-face from her experience five years ago, when the “You Say” singer-songwriter was scrubbed from Dick Clark Productions’ annual New Year’s Rockin’ Eve celebration because New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, a Democrat, wanted the artist to face retribution for performing at an outdoor worship event in 2020, violating a public health guidance.

That event was organized and led by California worship leader and activist Sean Feucht.

At the time, Cantrell said, “[Daigle] harmed our people, she risked the lives of our residents, and she strained our first responders in a way that is unconscionable — in the midst of a public health crisis. This is not who we are, and she cannot be allowed to represent New Orleans or the people she willfully endangered.”

But now, five years later, Daigle is feeling liberated as she prepares to perform on one of the world’s biggest stages in her home state.

Appearing on Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo’s podcast, “Arroyo Grande,” Daigle said she was feeling vindicated from the way she was treated by Cantrell.

“To get this moment years later, I would say for anybody watching that has had their reputations smeared in any sort of way and they are just waiting for the moment of vindication, sometimes it only takes five years,” she told Arroyo.

For so long, we as a church have said one day we’re going to complete the Great Commission, but it’s time now to do that. And so, we synergize, mobilize and finalize,” Davis said.

When asked how close we’re getting to seeing the Great Commission finalized, Dr. Davis told CBN News, “It could happen in our lifetime. We are getting close. We’re getting close on many different fronts. First of all, we’re getting close relationally. We believe that relationship currency is the greatest currency in all the world. And we also believe that the shortest distance between two points is not a straight line, but a close relationship. And what I mean by relationally, the body of Christ is realizing that if we’re going to bench press the planet so that everyone can have access to the Gospel, we’re going to have to work together. That’s why we say synergize. So that’s the first piece of the puzzle.”

“The second piece is mobilize; mobilize and Bible translation. There is a massive uptick on Bible translation to get it all finished, every language done and it’s rapidly happening on a global scale. It’s happening evangelistically. More people are coming to Christ today than ever in the history of the world,” Davis said.

Among the speakers at the event, Rev. Robert Jeffress, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Dallas, encouraged church leaders to be brave and bold.

JERUSALEM, Israel – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in Washington Sunday night for talks with President Donald Trump. The meeting is pivotal for the outcome of Israel’s war with Hamas, the future of Gaza and the fate of the remaining hostages.

Before he left for the U.S., the prime minister told reporters some of the issues the two leaders will discuss.

He listed, “Victory over Hamas, achieving the release of all our hostages, and dealing with the Iranian terror axis in all its components—an axis that threatens the peace of Israel, the Middle East and the entire world.”

Netanyahu suggests the two can transform the Middle East.

“I believe that we can strengthen security, broaden the circle of peace and achieve a remarkable era of peace through strength.”

Trump also extended an invitation to King Abdullah of Jordan to the White House. He wants Jordan and Egypt to help resettle refugees from Gaza so it can be rebuilt. So far, both countries are rejecting the president’s offer.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty declared, “We have a clear vision regarding the reconstruction [of the Gaza Strip] without this leading to the expulsion of any citizen from his land. We have a clear vision in this regard.”

Hamas released three more hostages on Saturday. Israelis were delighted to see the reunions for Yarden Bibas, Ofer Calderon and Israeli-American Keith Seigal.

These men and the other freed hostages described the hellish conditions Hamas kept them in for more than 15 months.

Some were held in cages and without medical care. Others saw friends murdered or die slowly. Some were forbidden to cry or to hold hands with other hostages.

SHILOH, Israel – In September 2022, the arrival of five red heifers in Israel caught the world’s attention. Now, more than two years later, those cows are being cared for in ancient Shiloh and continue to attract international visitors.

Larry Borntrager, a farmer from northern Indiana, takes care of them.

He told us, “My next point is to try to find a farmer who can make hay, which is, you know, the flowers and the leaves and everything stay on them. That way it’s just better for the cow.”

Borntrager admitted, “It’s just a lot of fun to be involved in something that I see God is doing behind the scenes.”

He says what he’s experienced since arriving here is remarkable.

“While I’ve been standing here at Shiloh, every continent, countries I’ve never heard of before, were here to see the red heifers. There’s something happening in Shiloh,” he observed.

“Ideas are becoming a reality. In other words, the idea of a red heifer has been in the Jewish understanding over a couple thousand years. But here at Shiloh, just like it says in Genesis 49, there’s something happening here that’s drawing the nations, and it’s the red heifers. 

In this area, Hannah prayed for a son where the prophet Samuel served the Lord and Joshua divided the land between the twelve tribes.

Moria Shapira identified it as “the place where many stories of the bible occurred. And today we also have here the red heifers, which is something new,” she said. “The budgets for this visitor center stopped because of the war (with Hamas and Hezbollah). So we invite whoever wants to be part with us to help this very important thing of the red heifers.”

During our visit, Bible teacher Dr. Todd Fink brought his group to see the red heifers. “Shiloh has so much significance,” he said. “It was the spiritual capital of Israel for 369 years.” 

“This is huge. This is huge,” he exclaimed. “And the one gal that we, that was giving us the tour, she said that part of the reason why Hamas invaded is because of these red heifers. And according to prophecy, these red heifers are significant. From the time of Israel’s history, they say that only nine have been killed for these ashes. And so for these to be here, and Shiloh here, and for that to fit in with what appears to be prophecy on the horizon, we’re living in monumental days, unbelievable times.”

President Trump pardoned 23 peaceful pro-life protesters who the White House says were unjustly targeted for prosecution by the Biden Administration.

In signing the pardons, Trump said what the Biden Administration had done to them was “ridiculous.”

“Twenty-three people were prosecuted, they should not have been prosecuted – many of them are elderly people – they should not have been prosecuted. This is a great honor to sign this,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) delivered a speech on the Senate floor calling the pro-lifer prosecutions a “dark period of our history” and “a grotesque assault on the principles of this country.”

He supported Trump’s plan to pardon the pro-life prisoners, saying, “He can right the wrongs that this last administration perpetrated. . . He can, again, renew the commitment that is found right there in our Constitution. That commitment to honor liberty of conscience. To honor the right to follow God, to live out our faith peaceably—which is exactly what these pro-life prisoners, still prisoners, were doing.”

The Thomas More Society recently sent a letter to President Trump contending that the defendants they represent had been “unjustly imprisoned.”

“They have been heartened during their imprisonment and unjust prosecutions by your repeated messages to them during your campaign, urging them to persevere until you were able to take office, review their cases, and free them,” the legal group wrote.

Just minutes after returning to the Oval Office, President Trump promised to reinstate the more than 8,000 troops who were dismissed from the military for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine, announcing that they would receive backpay for the period of their termination.

According to military data, nearly 8,400 troops were expelled from the military after declining the vaccine, with the Marines making up around 3,700 of the dismissals.

“This week, I will reinstate any service members who were unjustly expelled from our military for objecting to the COVID vaccine mandate with full back pay,” Trump said during his swearing-in ceremony Monday.

“And I will sign an order to stop our warriors from being subjected to radical political theories and social experiments while on duty,” he added. “It’s going to end immediately. Our armed forces will be free to focus on their sole mission, defeating America’s enemies.”

The COVID-19 vaccine mandate for military members lasted from August 2021 to January 2023 with few exemptions for medical or religious reasons. The mandate was walked back when Biden signed a defense spending bill in December 2022.

At that time, less than 1% of the military members who were dismissed due to the mandate were reinstated to their positions.

Lawmakers have criticized the Department of Defense for severely impacting military readiness because of the dismissals and have called for those individuals to be allowed to return to work.

Pentagon leaders have said the move did not hurt readiness or morale, according to a Military Times report.

Meanwhile, Republican lawmakers have already introduced legislation offering service members an opportunity to get their jobs back with back pay.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-TX, and freshman Rep. Pat Harrigan, R-NC, introduced the AMERICANS Act, which bans the Pentagon from requiring additional COVID mandates without Congress’ approval.

President Trump took the oath of office yesterday to become the 47th President of the United States. In his first presidential actions, he began issuing a series of executive orders about a wide range of issues, and he issued pardons for about 1,500 defendants charged in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. He said he’s also issuing six commutations.

“These are the hostages,” he said while signing the paperwork in the Oval Office.

Earlier in the evening, while speaking to a large crowd at the Capital One arena, he started by rescinding 78 Biden executive orders. Then he signed several orders requiring federal workers to return to in-person work, and ordering every federal department to take action to address the cost of living crisis facing Americans. He also withdrew from the Paris climate treaty, calling it unfair to America, and signed orders to put a stop to censorship of free speech and end the weaponization of the federal government.

Trump then left the arena to head back to the White House to sign a variety of other orders including several which focus on illegal immigration. In his inaugural address, he said he would end the policy of “catch and release” and reinstitute the “remain in Mexico” policy, so those issues are a key part of his border agenda. He signed one executive order to broadly ramp up federal efforts to secure the borders.

Monday night, he also signed orders to essentially shut down the southern border and to designate cartels and other organizations as foreign terrorist organizations.

“By the power vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, I have determined that the current situation at the southern border qualifies as an invasion under Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution of the United States.  Accordingly, I am issuing this Proclamation based on my express and inherent powers in Article II of the Constitution of the United States, and in faithful execution of the immigration laws passed by the Congress, and suspending the physical entry of aliens involved in an invasion into the United States across the southern border until I determine that the invasion has concluded,” the order states.

JERUSALEM, Israel – Mediators reported Wednesday that Israel and Hamas have agreed to a ceasefire deal, pausing the 15-month war against the terrorist rulers of the Gaza Strip.

The deal, reached after weeks of negotiations in Qatar, promises the phased release of dozens of hostages held by Hamas. But Israel has conceded to the release of hundreds of Palestinian criminals and terrorists held in prisons in Israel.

Once the Netanyahu government approves the deal, 33 of the nearly 100 remaining hostages are to be reunited with their loved ones over the next six weeks. The hostages have been held in brutal conditions since October 2023 with no access to medical inspection and no contact with the outside world. It’s unclear how many of them are still alive.

The ceasefire would also allow hundreds of thousands of displaced people in Gaza to return to their homes.

The founder of a Christian organization that provides kids with religious instruction during the public school day is responding to Satanists’ attempts to offer an alternative program to children.

Joel Penton, founder and CEO of LifeWise Academy and author of the book, “During School Hours: WHY and HOW LifeWise Academy is Reinstalling Religious Education into the Public School Day,” told CBN News he believes The Satanic Temple’s “Hellion Academy of Independent Learning” being offered to children at an Ohio elementary school is a direct “response” to his LifeWise academy programming.

“The messages that we’re getting from those who are launching the program are somewhat mixed,” Penton said. “At times, they will say this is explicitly an attempt to scare the school board and communities into shutting down all religious programs like ours … Other times, they’ll say, ‘Oh, but you shouldn’t be scared of this because it is going to teach kindness, and values, and that type of thing.’”

From Penton’s perspective, it’s “not super clear exactly what the program is about,” though, like LifeWise, it enables children to leave the premises to take part in The Satanic Temple’s alternative effort.

As CBN News previously reported, HAIL will be offered to children at Edgewood Elementary School in the Marysville School District and is offered at one other location in Pennsylvania.

A representative for The Satanic Temple told CBN News there are programs either pending or launching in Ohio, Tennessee and Michigan.

Penton said it appears HAIL is not only a response to LifeWise and other similar programs but that it could also be a “last-minute attempt to stop or delay” Ohio legislation that would “give the right of religious instruction to all families.”

That legislation, House Bill 8, was recently signed into law and includes a provision that would require public schools in Ohio to have policies that allow for release-time programs. The new policy changes the “may” in current law to “shall,” thus making such guidelines a mandate. Penton, who spoke with CBN News before the law passed, has been a major proponent of its tenets.

Release time—which has been ruled constitutional by the Supreme Court—allows kids to get religious instruction during the school day.

“Kids can receive Bible education during school hours if the program’s off school property, privately funded and students have parental permission,” he said. “Sadly, this opportunity has been somewhat under the radar for decades.”

Penton said LifeWise Academy provides the tools and resources for communities to be able to launch local release-time programs, offering bussing and resources to kids once those programs launch.

“[It’s usually] one time per week, usually during … a lunch, recess or library time, or a special time,” he said. “Students can typically jump on the big, red LifeWise bus and head down the street to the church down the road and receive … a Gospel-centered Bible education class right during their public school day.”

Of course, not everyone is enthusiastic about LifeWise’s success.
