James Robison Celebration of Life Honors Evangelist Who Led Millions to Christ

The life and legacy of evangelist James Robison were celebrated in a powerful memorial service filled with worship, testimonies and heartfelt tributes from family, ministry leaders and friends whose lives were forever changed by his faithfulness to the gospel.

Held at Milestone Church in Texas, the service highlighted Robison’s decades-long ministry, which reached millions through crusades, television broadcasts and humanitarian outreach around the globe. Throughout the celebration, one message rang clear: James Robison never stopped pointing people to Jesus Christ.

His son, Randy Robison, reflected on his father’s unwavering trust in Scripture and the Savior he preached throughout his life.

“My father’s trust in Christ was complete,” Randy said. “Because of that, he led many others, including many of you, to Christ as well.”

A video tribute recounted how Robison began preaching as a teenager in 1963 and eventually conducted more than 600 citywide crusades, with attendance exceeding 20 million people. The ministry later expanded through television, eventually becoming Life Today and Life Outreach International, reaching audiences worldwide with the gospel and practical expressions of God’s love.

The memorial also highlighted Robison’s passion for helping the poor.

Through partnerships across Africa and other nations, Life Outreach’s Mission Feeding program has helped save millions of lives while providing food, clean water, rescue initiatives and hope to vulnerable communities. According to the tribute presented during the service, more than 24 million lives have been impacted through Mission Feeding alone.

Multiple speakers emphasized that while Robison was known as a bold evangelist, those closest to him knew him as a mentor, encourager and friend.

Pastor Samuel Rodriguez recalled Robison’s repeated challenge to pursue unity in the body of Christ. “There is no greater prayer as a Christian leader than the prayer of Jesus, ‘Make us one,'” Rodriguez remembered him saying.

Comedian Chonda Pierce shared how Robison became a father figure in her life, encouraging her during seasons of grief and depression. She recalled his kindness and generosity, saying he consistently demonstrated Christ’s love in deeply personal ways.

Perhaps the most emotional tribute came from Betty Robison, who reflected on the day she first witnessed God’s call on the young preacher who would eventually become her husband.

“I want to know you like he knows you,” she recalled praying after seeing James’ passion for Christ. “I want that fire in my bones.”

As speaker after speaker shared stories of salvation, ministry and transformed lives, the overwhelming conclusion became impossible to ignore. James Robison’s life was not merely measured by the sermons he preached or the ministries he built, but by the countless people who encountered Jesus because one man said yes to God’s call.

The evangelist who spent his life inviting others to heaven has finally heard the words he longed for most: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Influential Leaders Mourn James Robison’s Death, Share Powerful Tributes

Following the passing of James Robison, many leaders have come out to offer powerful tributes to his long legacy of faith and ministry.

On X, the Rev. Franklin Graham wrote:

I was saddened to learn that James Robison passed away yesterday. I knew James for many years. He was a powerful preacher and a great encourager. I will miss him, but I’ll see him again one day in Heaven.

Ambassador Mike Huckabee also gave a touching tribute too, sharing that he even named his son after Robison.

I worked for James Robison in the 70’s as Dir of Comms. He & wife Betty were huge influences in my life. My middle son’s middle name is “James” after him. His death hits hard. He mentored me in so many ways. Remembering James Robison

Pastor Samuel Rodriguez shared about how Robison was like a spiritual mentor to him, who had walked beside him for many years.

To order Jonathan Cahn’s new book, The Altar of Pergamon, visit .

He was one of my spiritual overseers, a mentor, a dear friend, and a man of God that I honor and will honor for the rest of my days. James Robison passed away. I remember a special day at Gateway when the Lord instructed him to tell me to get on the ground right there on the stage, and on that stage, He placed His mantle upon me — a mantle to proclaim the gospel, to advance the kingdom of heaven, and to preach the word in and out of season. That moment marked me. It was truly an inflection point. And now Papa James is in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you, James, for your commitment. Thank you for teaching us that repentance leads to revival, and that revival will inevitably lead to reformation. I love you dearly. I will miss you.

Jentezen Franklin also called Robison a “true man of God.”

Remembering a true man of God today, my friend, James Robison. What a life well lived. The world is different because of the impact that he made. Praying for Betty and the family today.

Bunni Pounds also commented on Robison’s impact and reach.

Because of James…. We have all been impacted!

During this time, continue to pray for Robison’s family and the LIFE Outreach International Family.

Biblical Truth vs. Apostasy: Amanda Grace Stands Up Against Rogue Preacher

In another controversial moment from an apostate teacher, Jeff Hood, a Little Rock preacher and theologian-in-residence at Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church, used his pulpit during a service called “Resistance Sunday” to sharply critique and even curse President Donald Trump.

The event, held a day before Martin Luther King Jr. Day and just before Trump’s second inauguration, was marked by Hood’s fiery rhetoric, calling for active resistance to Trump’s policies.

Speaking from a pulpit adorned with a banner reading “RESIST,” Hood addressed the congregation: “Who is ready to go to prison?” he asked, before describing Trump as the “big orange elephant in the room.” Hood’s words left little room for neutrality: “People say ‘Is Donald Trump Hitler?’ I don’t know, but I sure…know he ain’t Jesus.” Hood’s homily critiqued Trump’s policies, including immigration enforcement and the death penalty, and condemned wealthy oligarchs like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos for allegedly pulling the strings of power.

Pastor Samuel Rodriguez: A Biblical View on Sanctuary, Justice and Immigration Reform

Pastor Samuel Rodriguez, a prominent voice in the Hispanic Christian community and president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, recently spoke with CBN about the Trump administration’s directive allowing ICE agents to target traditionally protected spaces, including churches, schools and hospitals.

This decision has sparked significant debate, especially within faith communities that are deeply concerned about its potential impact on illegal immigrants. Rodriguez’s perspective offers a nuanced balance between supporting justice and advocating for compassion, rooted in biblical principles.

Rodriguez made it clear that the administration’s focus is not on deporting individuals who have lived law-abiding lives for decades. “They’re coming after the pedophiles, they’re coming after the gangbangers, they’re coming after the cartel, the coyotes, the human traffickers. That’s who they’re coming after,” he said. For Rodriguez, this targeted approach aligns with the biblical mandate for justice, as seen in Romans 13:3-4, which reminds us that authorities are meant to be “a terror” to wrongdoers, not those who do right.

Jonathan Cahn’s Prophetic Word: Donald Trump’s Return

As Donald Trump steps back onto the political stage, many are asking: Is this merely a political comeback, or is there a deeper prophetic significance?

Bestselling author and prophetic voice Jonathan Cahn believes Trump’s return mirrors a biblical pattern—one that aligns with the story of King Jehu, the warrior king of Israel who rose to power to drive out corruption and idolatry.

“Daniel 2:21: ‘He changes the times and seasons. He removes kings and He establishes kings. He gives wisdom to the wise, knowledge to those who have understanding. He removes kings and He places kings in power,'” says Cahn.

NHCLC Launches ‘The Urgency of Now’ Campaign for Immigration Reform

In response to an unprecedented immigration crisis, the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, representing the largest Latino faith organization in the United States, has unveiled “The Urgency of Now” campaign.

This emergency national campaign aims to mobilize over 65 million Latino voters, with a special focus on the 20 million-strong Latino evangelical community, to advocate for comprehensive immigration reform before the 2024 election.

The initiative draws on successful collaborative strategies from previous campaigns, such as the “Faith and Education Coalition,” combining national grassroots advocacy with a robust digital-first media campaign.

Decades of political inaction and neglect have allowed the immigration crisis to persist, undermining both the rule of law and the values of compassion and decency that America holds dear. The NHCLC asserts that the nation stands at the threshold of reform, poised to move from the wilderness of political apathy to the promised land of “Just Integration,” blending border security with faith and family values.

Key Points of the NHCLC Campaign:

Securing Borders and Enforcing the Law:

  • Immediate action to halt illegal immigration, including the construction of a comprehensive border wall and ending catch-and-release policies.
  • Advocacy for a return to the stay-in-Mexico policy for individuals seeking asylum.
  • Opposition to the use of the U.S. military for deportation and support for adequate ICE funding.

Legal Status, Not Amnesty:

  • Proposal for a non-amnesty path to legal status and citizenship for long-standing undocumented residents.
  • Citizenship reserved for natural-born citizens or those who have legally entered and completed the naturalization process.
  • Inclusion of a guest worker program to integrate productive members of society.

Employer Responsibility:

  • Emphasis on employers verifying the legal status of employees.
  • Advocacy for a streamlined sponsorship process to allow immigrants to contribute to the workforce without burdening the welfare system.

Assimilation:

  • Call for initiatives to help immigrants learn English and civics.
  • Combatting anti-American sentiments in public institutions to foster national unity and shared values.

Work, Not Welfare:

  • Urging reforms to welfare programs to incentivize gainful employment among immigrants.
  • Reducing dependence on government assistance to foster a culture of self-reliance.

The NHCLC believes that the call for comprehensive immigration reform is a moral imperative transcending partisan lines. It seeks to redefine the issue as a fundamentally moral concern, inviting individuals from all political affiliations to engage in constructive dialogue.

The campaign encourages a shared commitment to finding just and compassionate solutions that align with the core values defining the United States. It calls for collective action now to address immigration challenges in a way that reflects the best of American principles and fosters a more inclusive, compassionate society.

Morning Rundown: Fresh Oil, Holy Fire, New Wind: A Prophetic Word for 2024

Here’s a quick rundown of the top stories on :

Fresh Oil, Holy Fire, New Wind: A Prophetic Word for 2024

Joining Charisma News for an exclusive interview, Pastor Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, brings forth a powerful prophetic word for 2024. He shares the importance of fresh oil, holy fire and new wind in the coming year that the Lord has put on his heart.

Fresh Oil

The first element of this prophetic word is fresh oil, which represents a new anointing. Rodriguez reminds us that we have already received the Holy Spirit (1 John 2:27), but God is about to do something new in us, with us, for us and through us to fulfill the Great Commission and advance the kingdom of heaven. This fresh oil is a call to renew our commitment to serve God and bring down the giants in our lives, just as David did.

“I’m not saying God’s going to give you a new Holy Spirit. What I am saying is that the Holy Spirit is about to do something new, in us with us, for us, through us for the glory of Jesus,” Rodriguez explains.

Why the 2023 Word of the Year Is More Meaningful Than You Might Think

2023 has been a year full of ups and downs, but one of the more unexpected events from this year is that the word “rizz” was chosen as the word of the year by the Oxford University Press.

While rizz is used largely by Gen Z as a slang for having “style, charm, or, attractiveness, and the ability to attract a romantic or sexual partner,” as the BBC reported, it is the root of this word that has true meaning.

Rizz ultimately comes from the word “charisma.”

Faith Obscured: What This 28-Year-Old, Jewish MIT Grad Thought Being a Christian Meant

This story might seem hard to believe for some, but I heard it firsthand from a good Christian friend, whom we’ll call Sam. And upon reflection, it’s not far-fetched at all.

Sam’s daughter is dating a 28-year-old Jewish man, a graduate of Tufts and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Shortly before Christmas, Sam, who has been a pastor and served in various ministry capacities over the years, had an opportunity to talk with this young man about the gospel.

To Sam’s shock, he learned that, not only did this well-educated Jewish man have no understanding of the gospel message, but he also had a deeply flawed view of what it meant to be a Christian.

Holy Fire

The second element, holy fire, is a call to sanctification and purification. Rodriguez reminds us that the fire of God is not punitive but preserves us, proves us and prepares us (Matt. 3:11). Holy fire is a purifying fire that sanctifies our families, ministries and communities. The fire of God converts our faith into favor, and we must embrace this holy fire in 2024.

“When you’re full of God’s fire, your mind your body, your family, your health, your circumstances become a snake-free zone. The enemy cannot occupy space in the presence of holy fire. So I’m speaking prophetically now; it’s fresh oil. Holy fire,” he says.

New Wind

The final element, new wind, represents joy. In a world filled with challenges, God is bringing new wind, or joy, to His people in 2024. This joy is our strength (Neh. 8:10), and it will enable us to conquer new territories and bring down giants. We must embrace this new wind and be a light in the midst of darkness.

“I do believe God is sanctifying His church,” Rodriguez reveals. “He’s purifying His church. He’s exposing some things that have been hidden for His name’s sake and for His glory. There’s going to be this great, let’s just say, ‘differential.’ We’re going to differentiate, we’re going to distinguish, between the holy remnant and the complacent church.”

Renewing Ourselves with Fresh Spiritual Oil

As we approach 2024, it is vital to renew ourselves with fresh spiritual oil. The Bible offers guidance on how to do this:

— Seek God’s presence: Psalm 16:11 tells us that in God’s presence, there is fullness of joy. Spend time in prayer, worship and reading the Word to renew your spiritual oil.

Embrace humility: James 4:10 says that if we humble ourselves before the Lord, He will lift us up. Be open to God’s refining fire and allow Him to transform your life.

Walk in obedience: 1 John 2:3-6 emphasizes the importance of obeying God’s commands. As we walk in obedience, we will experience the fullness of His love and fresh oil in our lives.

The prophetic word for 2024 from Pastor Samuel Rodriguez is a powerful reminder of the importance of fresh oil, holy fire and new wind in our lives. As we renew ourselves with fresh spiritual oil, we will be better equipped to serve God and advance His kingdom in the coming years.
