US Launches New Round of Strikes in Response to ‘Aggressive Iranian Actions’

Missiles and aircraft roared through Middle Eastern skies over the weekend as renewed combat flared between the United States and Iran.

In a post on X, U.S. Central Command said it “conducted self-defense strikes on Iranian radar and command and control sites for drones in Goruk, Iran and Qeshm Island this weekend.”

“The measured and deliberate strikes occurred on Saturday and Sunday in response to aggressive Iranian actions that included the shootdown of a U.S. MQ-1 drone that was operating over international waters,” CENTCOM posted.

“U.S. fighter aircraft swiftly responded by eliminating Iranian air defenses, a ground control station, and two one-way attack drones that posed clear threats to ships transiting regional waters.”

“No American service members were harmed. CENTCOM will continue to protect U.S. assets and interests in response to unwarranted Iranian aggression during the ongoing ceasefire,” the post continued.

Order Jonathan Cahn’s New Book, “The Altar of Pergamon” on !

On Monday, Kuwait noted on X that it was under attack.

“The Kuwaiti air defenses are currently confronting hostile missile and drone attacks. The General Staff of the Army notes that if explosion sounds are heard, they result from the air defense systems intercepting the hostile attacks,” its post said.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said Monday that it had targeted the source of a U.S. attack on a telecommunications facility, according to NBC News.

The IRGC said that if the U.S. continues to prick its defenses, the next response would be “completely different” and the U.S. would shoulder the blame.

The latest round of attacks follows a similar pattern to those that took place last week, in which Iran fired on a Kuwait-based air facility after the U.S. fired on boats and land-based operations that could interfere with shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned on X Monday that Iran considers a state of war to exist as long as Israel grinds on in its battle against Hezbollah, its terrorist proxy in Lebanon.

“The ceasefire between Iran and the US is unequivocally a ceasefire on all fronts, including in Lebanon. Its violation on one front is a violation of the ceasefire on all fronts. The US and Israel are responsible for the consequences of any violation,” he posted.

After dropping for the month of May, oil prices jerked upward Monday in response to the attacks. Oil prices were up more than 3 percent early Monday.

During May, Brent futures dropped 19 percent.

BREAKING: Israel Sends Airstrikes Against Iran

Israel launched an airstrike attack against Iran in the early morning of Friday, June 13, 2025. According to CNN, the target of the strike was the nuclear and long-range missile program of Iran, with an Israeli official stating, that this is “not a one-day attack.”

There were dozens of strikes from Israel to Iran which were deemed to be “preemptive, precise, combined offensive.” U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that the United States was not involved. He stated, “Tonight, Israel took unilateral action against Iran. We are not involved in strikes against Iran and our top priority is protecting American forces in the region.”

In a statement video on the event, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the launch against Iran as “Operation Rising Lion.”

“Moments ago, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a targeted military operation to roll back Iranian threat to Israel’s very survival,” says Netanyahu. “This operation will continue for as many days as it takes to remove this threat. For decades, the tyrants of Tehran have brazenly, openly called for Israel’s destruction. They’ve backed up their genocidal rhetoric with a program to develop nuclear weapons. In recent years, Iran has produced enough highly enriched uranium for nine atom bombs.”

Netanyahu states that recently Iran has further sought ways to weaponize this uranium. He says that, “If not stopped, Iran could produce a nuclear weapon in a very short time.”

Fighting rages across northern Syria with Turkish-backed forces clashing with Kurdish units at the Euphrates River while sectarian battles erupt in the south. All this comes as the new regime led by a former al-Qaeda commander struggles to unify the country.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “It is our assessment that, frankly, the transitional authorities, given the challenges they’re facing, are maybe weeks, not many months, away from potential collapse and a full-scale civil war of epic proportions.”

CBN News recently visited the Tishreen Dam which has been in the news as the scene of some heavy fighting between the Turkish-backed forces and HTS and the Kurds. Now the Kurds hold the dam, and there’s a ceasefire that just recently came into effect, which they’re hoping will hold. The only problem is the Turks aren’t abiding by the ceasefire, so drone strikes and artillery shelling are still happening on a daily basis out here.

In urban combat, you don’t want to walk down the street because you’ll get shot. So the fighters break holes in the walls to go between buildings without exposing themselves on the street. Ceasefire Over: Israel Launches Major Strikes on Gaza Targets

The ceasefire between Hamas and Israel is over. Early Tuesday morning, Israeli warplanes bombarded Hamas targets inside Gaza. The renewed fighting comes after Hamas refused to extend the ceasefire deal and hostage/prisoner exchange.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced in a statement early Tuesday, “At this moment the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) is striking Hamas targets across the Gaza Strip to achieve the war’s objectives as set by the political leadership, including the release of all our hostages – both the living and the fallen.”

The prime minister said the decision – approved by the cabinet – came after Hamas repeatedly refused to release the hostages and rejected all proposals presented by President Donald Trump’s Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff and other mediators.

IDF International Spokesman Nadav Shoshani told CBN News, “What we have seen them do is prepare for a terror attack against our troops in Gaza but more importantly, against our civilians, in the communities outside of Gaza, in the western Negev.”

Shoshani continued, “What we did is we took a preemptive strike on those, terrorists, specifically those commanders. And on terror targets, removing those threats, and basically saying, we will not accept this.”

President Trump was informed of the plan beforehand.

A White House spokesman announced, “Israel consulted with the Trump administration and the White House in advance of the attacks on Gaza. As Trump has made clear, Hamas, the Houthis, Iran, and anyone who seeks to terrorize – not only Israel but also the United States – will pay a heavy price. The gates of hell will open.”

Israel’s new IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir oversaw the operations alongside the head of the Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, who Netanyahu indicated he plans to fire.

Tuesday’s attacks lit up the night sky over Gaza with dozens of explosions. Israel claims to have killed many Hamas leaders and Hamas acknowledged that hundreds of Gazans have been killed and wounded.

Red Sea Heats Up? Houthis Claim 2 Attacks on USS Truman, Vow to Strike American Vessels

The conflict in the Red Sea over Houthi attacks on maritime traffic through the waterway is heating up.

Following U.S. strikes on targets throughout Houthi territory in Yemen, the Iran-backed terror group has responded, targeting the USS Truman aircraft carrier in the Red Sea.

Claiming to be retaliating against “continued American aggression,” the Houthis say they have launched 18 missiles and a drone at the aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman and its accompanying warships.

In a statement on Telegram, the group claimed that its armed forces “targeted, for the second time in 24 hours, the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the northern Red Sea with a number of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones in an engagement that lasted for several hours.”

Houthi spokesman Yahya Sare’e vowed that the group “will continue to impose a naval blockade on the Israeli enemy and ban its ships in the declared zone of operations until aid and basic needs are delivered to the Gaza Strip.”

Meanwhile, the Houthis also claimed to have thwarted a planned strike allegedly being prepared from the USS Harry Truman.

The United States military has not specifically responded to either claim. However, CENTCOM released a video from around the same time as the attacks were alleged to have occurred, showing U.S. Navy aircraft taking off from the USS Truman.

The U.S. Naval Institute published an article stating that the Houthis attempted an attack on the USS Truman but said CENTCOM did not respond to its request for comment regarding the attacks.

An unidentified U.S. official told The Times of Israel that the Houthis did deploy drones and fired at least one missile in the attack on the vessel, which lasted over 12 hours. The official said the missile fell short and that all drones were intercepted by U.S. fighter aircraft.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said the campaign would continue until the Houthis relent.

“We will come after the Houthis until they stop shooting at our ships, and the Iranians better stay out of it,” Hegseth told Fox News after the U.S. strikes on Saturday night.

Military sources familiar with the Houthi rebels in Yemen told the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, which is associated with Hezbollah, that the Houthis are preparing for a much greater confrontation with the Americans.

The group, which is officially known as Ansar Allah, said the previous U.S. airstrikes also targeted a command tower on the cargo ship “Galaxy Leader,” which was captured by the group in November 2023.

Following a second round of U.S. airstrikes on Sunday, Ansar Allah also announced it would begin targeting U.S. vessels passing through the waters off the Yemeni coast.

“As long as the American enemy continues its aggression against our country, its ships, its aircraft carriers, and its entire naval fleet will be attacked with drones and missiles, and we will include it in the decision to ban shipping,” Houthi leader Muhammad Ali al Houthi announced.

In Israel, the Air Force has raised its alert status over the possibility of missile and drone attacks by the Houthis.

While the rebel group halted its attacks on Israel following the signing of the hostage-ceasefire agreement, it announced last week that it would resume strikes as long as Israel maintains a blockade on humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

End of Damascus? Israel’s Biggest Attack in Months Sparks Prophetic Speculation

The Middle East is once again heating up, and this time, Israel is making it clear that it won’t sit idly by while threats gather at its doorstep. In the most significant airstrikes in Syria in over two months, the Israel Defense Forces launched dozens of attacks on military targets linked to the regime of Syria’s interim president, Ahmad al-Sharaa.

The reason? Israel sees the new Syrian leadership as a growing danger, especially given its ties to radical groups like Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. If these terrorists gain a foothold near Israel’s northern border, it could lead to a surge in attacks against Israeli communities in the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee. And let’s not forget Turkey’s looming involvement—there’s real concern that it could start backing jihadist forces in Syria, further destabilizing the region.

It’s not just about preventing immediate attacks. This is about shaping the battlefield before the enemy gets too strong. Israel has long had a policy of preemptive strikes when it senses a credible threat. With abandoned Syrian military bases loaded with weapons and terrorists being released from prison, the writing is on the wall. Israel isn’t waiting for trouble to come knocking—it’s taking action now.

Is Damascus on the Brink?

For those who follow biblical prophecy, this escalating conflict is more than just geopolitics—it could be a preview of what’s to come. Isaiah 17:1 famously prophesies, “Behold, Damascus will cease to be a city and will become a heap of ruins.” Could the rising tensions in Syria be leading to this ultimate fulfillment?

While Damascus has been war-torn for years, Israel’s increasing military actions, the presence of jihadist forces, and the ongoing power struggle make the city more vulnerable than ever. If the chaos continues, it’s not hard to imagine a scenario where Damascus faces total destruction—whether through war, terrorism or internal collapse.

As we watch these events unfold, one thing is clear: the stage is being set for significant prophetic developments. Whether this is the final fulfillment or another step in that direction, we should be paying attention. The Bible’s predictions about the fate of nations have never missed the mark before—why would they start now?

Isaiah 17 and the Fate of Damascus: How Israel’s Strikes Fit the Prophecy

The latest Israeli airstrikes in Syria have once again ignited discussions on biblical prophecy, particularly concerning the foretold destruction of Damascus. As tensions rise between Israel and Syria, many are looking to Scripture for insight into the potential ramifications of these escalating hostilities.

Israel’s recent strikes come as part of what Defense Minister Israel Katz described as a “new policy” to prevent Syria from becoming another Lebanon. “We will not allow southern Syria to become southern Lebanon,” Katz stated, reinforcing Israel’s commitment to counter any hostile presence near its borders. He further declared that the Israeli Air Force is “now attacking strongly in southern Syria as part of the new policy we have defined of pacifying southern Syria.”

The prophetic significance of these events lies in the words of Isaiah 17:1, which states, “Behold, Damascus will cease to be a city and will become a heap of ruins.” While Damascus remains standing today, the increasing frequency of Israeli military action in and around the city raises questions about whether the ancient prophecy is inching toward fulfillment.

The airstrikes came after Syrian state media reported Israeli aircraft targeting areas near Damascus, further fueling speculation that the city’s destruction could be a matter of when, not if. Meanwhile, Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu has indicated that Israeli forces will maintain their presence in the buffer zone separating the Golan Heights from Syria, stating that Israel “will not allow Syria’s new army or the rebel group that toppled the Assad regime to enter the area south of Damascus.”

The geopolitical landscape in the Middle East continues to shift dramatically, and the biblical implications of these changes cannot be ignored. The call by Syria’s new government for the “immediate and unconditional withdrawal” of Israeli forces underscores the volatility of the region. Yet, as Katz affirmed, Israel remains resolute in ensuring its national security: “We will not endanger the security of our citizens.”
