Hell is real, and so are its horrors.
In a jaw-dropping interview, Steve Kang told his story to Isaiah Saldivar of the horrifying experience in hell after slitting his own throat. What he has to say will completely shock you.
After growing up in a Buddhist household and receiving training to become a monk in the religion, Kang still wondered why there was so much suffering in the world.
“They told me my status and my current life is a summation of all my past lives,” Kang says. “I asked the monks, ‘How long does it take for me to reach nirvana?’ And they said ‘At least a million years.'”
After struggling for years with depression and getting into drugs, Kang had a demonic encounter that was dressed as an angel of light in the form of a grandfather figure who told him to kill himself.

“Thinking it was God, I cut my neck open, and the blood came out, and then I went for the stomach,” Kang says.
What happened next was terrifying as Kang saw hell itself.
“You see big demons, and they’re not little ones,” he says, “…with capes on torturing the people.”
Kang describes how the complete absence of God in hell makes it totally miserable and unbearable.
“I remember supernaturally knowing for the first time in my life that I was a sinner,” Kang says.
While Kang was in the emergency room, his mother called her only Christian friend and prayer warriors from the woman’s church came to the hospital, praying that he would live. Kang finally opened his eyes and heard the still small voice of the Lord tell him to give up drugs and Buddhism, and that he was loved by the living God. Kang compares his experience in hell with Bill Wiese’s because of the similar things that he saw during his time there as Wiese describes in his best-selling book, “23 Minutes in Hell.”
Kang’s story of despair, demonic deception and ultimate salvation underscores the reality of both hell and God’s mercy. It’s a powerful reminder to turn away from sin and embrace the saving grace of Jesus.
