A Season of Restoration

As a child, I received one of the greatest gifts parents can ever give: being raised in a home with parents who fully embraced their Christian faith. This has had a lasting impact on my life and played a great part in my role for the past several years as founder of , helping renew the blessings of freedom for the current generation.

My grandfather was also a man of great faith. In May of 1936, he set sail for Indonesia as a missionary and spent four years on the mission field. My father, the oldest of his five children, was raised in church.

He met my mom at Sunday school, they were married in 1959, and I was born in 1961. I accepted Christ as Lord and Savior in 1968 at the age of 7 in my grandfather’s dining room. I prayed the sinner’s prayer on my knees.

It is a blessing to come from a family that serves Christ across the generations. My parents serve Jesus, I serve Jesus, my three children serve Jesus and now my grandchildren are being blessed by growing up in a Christian home.

As I look back, I thank God that for the first 18 years of my life, whenever the church doors opened, my entire family was there. This has accumulated and accrued in me as a tremendous blessing.

But life isn’t a fairytale; it’s a journey. It is only when I look back that I see with clarity that God has directed my paths and given me unbelievable opportunities to fulfill His purpose for my life.
