US Warns Americans to Reconsider Israel Travel Amid Terrorism Threats
Americans planning to visit Israel are being urged to reconsider their travel as terrorism, armed conflict and regional unrest continue to threaten parts of the country.
The U.S. State Department recently reissued its Level 3 “Reconsider Travel” advisory for Israel, according to Fox News. Officials said the overall advisory level did not change but warned that Israel’s security environment remains complex and can shift rapidly.
“Violence can occur without warning,” the advisory states.
Heightened regional tensions could also force airlines to cancel or limit flights into and out of Israel, potentially leaving travelers with fewer options to depart the country.
Several areas remain under the State Department’s highest Level 4 “Do Not Travel” advisory because of armed conflict. Americans should avoid traveling within seven miles of the Gaza Strip and within 1.5 miles of the Israel-Egypt border, except near the Taba border crossing.

The Level 4 advisory also applies to designated areas of northern Israel, including territory north of Route 85 to Route 90 and south to Route 87.
U.S. government employees working in Israel are prohibited from entering those areas. Additional movement restrictions could be imposed “with little to no notice” if security concerns or threats intensify, the advisory states.
Americans who decide to visit Israel are advised to remain alert, avoid demonstrations and crowds, and follow instructions from Israeli security and emergency officials. Travelers should also locate the nearest bomb shelter or hardened shelter and prepare an emergency departure plan that does not depend on assistance from the U.S. government.
Officials also recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers medical treatment, evacuation assistance and trip cancellations.
As Israel continues confronting terrorism and threats from its enemies, our response cannot end with a travel warning. We must continue standing with Israel and interceding for its people.
Psalm 122:6 commands us, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you.’” Let us pray for Jerusalem’s peace, Israel’s protection and the defeat of those who seek its destruction.
