Pray: Pastor’s Young Daughter Loses Eye Following Bizarre Accident
One young girl is in need of prayer from God’s people.
According to a report by ChurchLeaders, Mallie Williams, the 6-year-old daughter of pastor Jared Williams, was struck in the head during a freak lawn mower incident. Jared was cutting the grass when a projectile flew out at Mallie. In a Facebook post, Shelly Hamilton shared details of the gruesome incident.
Our hearts go out to the Mallie Williams family
Jared and Angela Williams have a six-year-old daughter, Mallie. Jared is a pastor in Tipton, Indiana.
This past Thursday, August 27, Jared was out mowing his lawn while Mallie played in a far corner away from the mower. Something flew out from under the mower and hit Mallie on the left side of her face. It sliced from her nose up. They took her to emergency for what they thought was just stitches.
A CT-scan showed the eye was also sliced with pieces of it missing. A piece of her brow bone broke off and pierced her brain. Mallie has undergone multiple surgeries. The doctors tried to save her left eye but couldn’t. Yesterday, they were able to take the tube out from her being intubated and placed her in a hospital room, out of ICU.
Please pray for Mallie and the Williams family in this sudden devastating tragedy. They are trusting God for the outcome. As I see updates, I will try to share.
Have a blessed day on purpose.
Hamilton has continued to share updates on the situation, including the most recent one, where Jared Williams asked for prayer as they are hoping to be discharged from the hospital soon.

God’s hand has been evident in every step and detail. We have not been able to address the eye options as of yet. Our focus has been on the orbital/skull fracture and damage to brain and impact site. The neuro-team with the ophthalmologists came to agree that the only next step was brain surgery. They performed the surgery and were able to get the bone and fragment removed as well as reconstruct the orbital roof and reinforce with titanium plates. The surgeon said it went as good as hoped.
We are in icu for today but planning on moving to main floor tomorrow. The hope is to discharge this weekend. Mallie still has a long road as she heals and recovers from the surgeries she has already had.
We are now praying for the eye tissue to shrink back into the socket. Next big step is working with the ophthalmologists to discuss the options in regards to either removing all of the eye tissue or hoping that tissue will heal enough to fill the void as well as prosthetic options. I couldn’t sleep hardly at all last night because of what God has done. There are many details that came together that almost did not. She is communicating through squeezes, nods, and some words. She ate a couple of bites of scrambled eggs this am. God is so good and I’m so grateful for the saints that joined together with us. Thank you!!!!
Now is the time for the body of Christ to continue standing in the gap for this precious 6-year-old. Pray for complete healing over Mallie’s brain, protection from complications and wisdom for the doctors as they determine the next steps concerning her eye. Pray for supernatural strength, peace and endurance for Jared, Angela and their entire family.
As Mallie continues down the road of recovery, let’s pray that Christians surround this family with hope, joy and love, believing that the same God who has sustained her this far will remain with her through every step still to come.
