Situations bombards us with increased violence, financial strain, and division. These circumstances can only be met head on with a faith that remains unwavering and unhindered. How do we do this? How do we not allow worldly events to stop us from living out our purpose?

Three words come to mind−identity, hope, and partnership; and they build on one another.

First, we must know who we are in Christ. Nothing can steal our faith or identity if it is built on the solid foundation of the Word of God. But what if you just became a Christian or have a difficult past that prevents you from moving forward? Then allow the Lord to heal all emotional wounds and meditate on scriptures that speak of identity such as Psalm 139. When we do not know who we are in Christ, it becomes difficult to walk out our purpose. Voices from the past, or even our own voice, can silence the still small whisper of the Holy Spirit. You ARE who Jesus says you are.

Next, we must allow hope to rise to the occasion. Earth is not our home. Hope deferred makes the heart sick (Proverbs 13:12). We must keep our eyes on Jesus and that what God has called us to do will never change. His call is irrevocable. He has anointed each person to accomplish something. Each person is given a gift to utilize to encourage, mature, and strengthen the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:1-16). Hope empowers us to remain obedient. Hope embraced strengthens a weary soul.

Lastly, when we allow others to walk with us, then our purpose is multiplied. God does not create us to be in isolation, but for community. The word tribe has been referenced for several years now, but partnership brings on a whole new meaning. When we partner with others, then both people benefit. One is encouraged and the other utilizing his or her spiritual gifts. Both feel the presence of the Lord and it becomes a win-win. Partnership also exemplifies synergy. When two come together, they have an enhanced result.

How do these ideas build on one another? When we become more confident in who we are, then we are more likely to have hope and willing to partner with others. When confidence is limited, hope is decreased, and insecurities prevent us from linking arms with others because comparison transpires. When one piece is missing, it becomes nearly impossible to do all that the Lord has created, called, and anointed us to accomplish.

We complete our God-given purpose when we know who we are in Christ, hold on to hope, and partner with others.  We complete our God-given purpose when we know who we are in Christ, hold on to hope, and partner with others.
