Prophetic Word: God Is for You

I’ve repeatedly been hearing in the Spirit this week that “God is for you.” In my quiet time, as I’m preaching and during worship, the Spirit of the Lord keeps speaking, “God is for you.”

This is a now word for the body of Christ. God wants you to know He is for you. God is for you despite your circumstances, your sin, your abuse, what you are going through or how you are feeling.

You are made in the image of God (James 3:9). Being made in the image of God means perfect, complete and whole. Now I know some of you are thinking, But I am not perfect, complete and whole, and although we may not be in the natural, as we are still a work in progress, we are made perfect, complete and whole in His image.

There is no sin He cannot forgive. We no longer need to hold onto shame, blame, guilt, condemnation and regret. We are made perfect and complete in Him and through Him. He wants you to know He is for you! Are you for you? Often our greatest enemy is ourselves.

We can obtain a mind renewal and gain faith by speaking out, “God is for me!” Sometimes, we need to be our own cheerleaders and speak out positive proclamations over ourselves. God is for you. He is not against you (Rom. 8:31). He is not mad at you. He loves you!

The Bible says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10:17). I believe we can gain faith by speaking out and declaring, “God is for me!” I remember years ago, I was coming to the realization that God loved me. I remember the song “I know I’m loved” playing. I was worshiping in my living room, and I belted out, “I know I’m loved,” and the next line is, “I know I’m wanted.” There was so much freedom released that day as I declared out, “I know I’m loved. I know I’m wanted.”

As I’ve been hearing in the spiritual realm for several days now that God is for you, I know you too can have that same freedom when you repeatedly declare, believe and receive, “God is for me!”

God is for you! Grab hold of that reality and allow it to sink deep within your soul and receive the freedom He longs for you to have. {eoa}

Exclusive Interview: Implementing Culture Change Can Have Eternal Impact

The host of The Liz Wheeler Podcast believes Christians crave bold leadership, and she wants to bring those voices to the mic. That’s why Liz Wheeler started her podcast, and it’s why she prays it will spur faith-filled politicians and conservative thought leaders to action, rising to fill that need.

“Liz is a rising star and a champion of Christian and conservative values,” Charisma News content director Jeff Struss says of the former One America News host.

Christians don’t have to wait for an election to see tangible culture change happen, Wheeler says. The podcast will encourage them to raise their voices “on a daily basis.”

Wheeler knows that her faith gives her the “courage to weigh in on this battlefield,” echoing the words of Gov. Ron DeSantis in their joint effort to “put on the full armor of God,” and fight for freedoms and liberties we deserve. Strong faith is essential to not only representing Christ well in an increasingly godless society but holds eternal impact as well.

“Because ultimately, it’s not about things that happen in this world,” Wheeler states. “It’s about what’s going to happen to our souls and the souls of our brothers and sisters.”

Watch this exclusive interview to find out why Wheeler believes Christians need to take more of an offensive approach to standing up for biblical values and how to practically implement that.

The Prophetic Meaning of America’s First Missionary

What does it mean to be a pioneer?

Webster’s Dictionary defines a pioneer as: “1. a person who is among those who first enter or settle a region, thus opening it for occupation and development by others; 2. one who is first or among the earliest in any field of inquiry, enterprise, or progress.”

Truly, the life of George Liele embodies that of a pioneer.

He is the first of many African American missionaries who will go to a nation not their own to those who know nothing of the Son of God. They will go because, like George, they too “hold to live nigh the scriptures as much as [they] can.” The reality of George Liele being the first missionary sent out of America speaks volumes about the prophetic future of missions from the shores of America. This history of African Americans pioneering in missions from America prophesies the destiny of Black missions. Currently, the reality does not represent this history or destiny! This can only mean that the greatest mobilization effort for global missions is ahead of us, and it will be full of African American praying, preaching and singing.

Liele was born around 1750 into slavery. As a child, he was separated and sold off from his parents when he was very young. Liele had no memories of his mother and father outside of what he heard from other slaves. Liele went from plantation to plantation up and down the east coast of America until he landed on a plantation owned by a man named Henry Sharp. At this point, George Liele was called George Sharp. Later, when he was freed, he chose the last name Liele, which was his father’s first name.

Liele’s life would take a dramatic turn on Henry Sharp’s plantation when he heard the gospel for the first time. He realized he was not walking in the way of Christ and surrendered His life to Jesus at the age of 23. Liele’s conversion would impact not only him but slaves and slave owners alike. On the plantation, he began to preach to fellow slaves, and his preaching caught the attention of Henry Sharp’s pastor, Matthew Moore. Matthew Moore baptized and ordained Liele on May 20, 1775, making him the first African American Baptist pastor in America. Shortly after, Sharp granted Liele his freedom so that he would be able to preach unhindered and pursue the ministry. Liele not only preached to slaves but also at the quarterly meetings with Matthew Moore’s white congregation. Liele preached, baptized slaves and raised up leaders to preach on the various plantations he would visit. In a time where slavery was the law of the land and the Revolutionary War was at its conception, Liele made the gospel message his priority. He may have been born into slavery, but it didn’t stop him from serving God and bringing the gospel to those in need. Liele would go on to found First African Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia. His preaching and ministry were so dynamic that the meetings would be packed with both Black and white people. This went on for a few years. During this time, Liele’s heart began to turn toward slave populations beyond the shores of America.

When the Revolutionary War began, Henry Sharp was killed in battle, and his children tried to reenslave Liele. Liele was able to provide his manumission papers, but he saw the future did not look bright for him in America. Liele and his family decided to leave with Colonel Kirkland to Kingston, Jamaica. Liele’s life as a pioneer was only just beginning.

God Does Impossible Math for Dallas Jenkins and ‘The Chosen’

The Chosen has become a global phenomenon. The first-ever multi-season show about Jesus and His disciples has been watched over 150 million times and translated into over 50 languages. Dallas Jenkins, son of Left Behind author Jerry Jenkins, is now directing and producing the largest crowd-funded media project of all-time—The Chosen. Yet this project began after Dallas’ own career failure and disappointment.

“When we were at our lowest point, after I had experienced my biggest career failure, I didn’t know if I had a future in this business. God met us. He laid on my wife Amanda’s heart this phrase, ‘I do impossible math.'”

They weren’t sure what the phrase “impossible math” meant until a year later when they shattered the all-time high of crowdfunding and raised $10 million. God spoke to Amanda again, “That’s what I meant when I said ‘I do impossible math.'”

The Chosen celebrates the authentic and intimate relationships built between Jesus and His disciples. The camera work and the music focuses on the one-on-one relationships Jesus built with people. The miraculous is experienced personally as individuals’ lives are changed forever. Jenkins reflects, “Jesus was finding that persons’ heart-cry and focusing on that.”

Filming the series with a playful, and at times disruptive, outlook on the events surrounding Jesus’ life, Jenkins captures supernatural transformation on film. Jenkins states, “If we can see Jesus through the eyes of those who actually met Him, we can be changed and met in the same way.”

The second season of The Chosen is streaming now on The Chosen website and app.

Prophecy: Who Is Sufficient for These Things?

I was recently awakened in the middle of the night with a burning question in my heart: What would the apostle Paul and the disciples do in the situations believers are now faced with in Canada, the United States and other parts of the world? How would they live, walk and comport themselves?

In my mind, I was seeing these apostles as bigger than life and present in our world. I sought God for the answers to these questions but received none.

The following morning, as I was reading a devotional, God provided the answer. The devotional discussed the early Christians and the situations they were facing; I saw that they were similar to the things we are now beginning to encounter in Canada. The disciples were being restricted in what they could speak about or teach; they were being disparaged by some of the religious leaders who feared man rather than God. There was a rising level of persecution against Christianity, and Christians were being threatened daily.

Awakening Versus ‘Awokening’

The present “woke” culture being pushed on humanity is a demonic crafting of a new reality founded on satanic, anti-Christ principles. Becoming “woke” is the “awokening” of the masses to the demonic principles of division, immorality and hedonistic lifestyles being espoused through so-called equity. The road to truth leads us not to equity or even equality but rather to crucifixion—to the cross, to a life laid down in full surrender and obedience to God, to the one who said,I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6a).

I do realize that it is somewhat different to be born into a situation of persecution as the disciples were than it is to watch the freedom that you have known all your life begin to be taken from you incrementally and systematically. So again, I wondered, What would the saints do?

What did the saints do? The disciples continued to press forward and do exactly what they were called to do. They prayed! They asked God for courage and boldness to speak. They asked God to strengthen them in the situations that they faced. As they were obedient, there was a great awakening to the knowledge of truth. Acts 4 reveals the persecution they were experiencing, however, verse 33b says that “great grace was on them all.”

Great Grace

The answer leaped off the page into my spirit, and I saw it. The answer was God’s grace. I suddenly saw that grace brings whatever is needed. Grace is favor, power and all the goodness of God wrapped into one. The disciples asked God to increase the power, and He turned up the grace and gave them “great grace.” At one point, when Paul complained to God about the attacks on his life, God said to him: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor. 12:9a).

What Is Grace?

Grace is the divine substance that releases the ability to walk supernaturally through any situation without fear. Grace undergirds and empowers the believer in Christ; the one who lives and moves and has his being in Christ, thereby tapping into His life substance.

The word grace in the Greek is charis and means graciousness, especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life, benefit, favor, gift, joy liberality, pleasure. In Hebrew, grace is the word chên and means graciousness, kindness, favor, precious, well-favored.

We can therefore expect that when God’s graciousness is upon us, His divine influence works on our hearts and becomes reflected in our lives. We then experience His benefits, His favor, His joy, His liberality and pleasure over us as He works all things for our good.

Jesus is God! His life force is spiritual substance that is supernatural, creative, imbued with wisdom, insight and understanding. Grace allows us to tap into the treasures of Christ, a place where there is no fear and where every possibility exists. In grace, the substance of God’s life force moves in to take charge of any situation we may encounter. As believers in Christ, we draw from Him and receive His grace—His unmerited favor. Grace is embedded with potential to transform our circumstances and our demeanor from weakness and fear to power and strength.

Grace Is Power

Grace brings an atmospheric change, adjusts our perspective and produces an uncanny sense that all is well. It impregnates the current issue with His divine possibilities … continue reading {eoa}

Here’s How Our Churches Can Burn in Holy Spirit Fire

Even though it saddens me that many church leaders and pastors continue to be passive and indifferent toward the wisdom and counsel of God for their churches in this hour, I’m thankful for the hunger and excitement I see from the remnant saints.

Although I honor true church leaders and pastors, and Ephesians 4:11 ministry gifts, there are still far too many across our nation who wouldn’t recognize the cruciform wisdom of God if it were written on a neon sign lit up in front of them. Furthermore, too many wouldn’t recognize the Holy Ghost if He walked into their church wearing red shoes, a red suit and a red hat. They are ignorant of His ways. We long to help them, but due to their pride, many are unteachable and won’t listen.

The Best Thing Pastors and Church Leaders Can Do

Pastors and church leaders, the greatest thing you can do is get out of the way of what the Lord wants to do in your churches. Let go and let God. Let the Holy Ghost move and manifest Himself! Not only are there to be times of refreshing in the presence of the Lord as His coming draws near, but a restoration must happen before He returns. There must be a restoration of character, power and authority.

We Are Headed for Reformation

Just as it was before Jesus died when He cleansed the temple in preparation for the establishment of the New Covenant, even so it is now for the preparation of the coming reformation. Let’s face it, the church needs radical cleansing and radical change in how it’s led and how it’s run.

Provocative questions: How did 3,000 new converts move from Acts 2:41 to 42?

From being saved and baptized to continuing steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers?

What part did apostolic leadership play in this transition? How did they lead? How did they run the church in Jerusalem? Without buildings, without budgets, without paid staff and without a head pastor, how was the early church able to function and disciple a harvest of 3,000 new people, and then two chapters later another 5,000?

I share these things in my latest Heartburn video on our Holy Fire Ministries YouTube channel.

The Coming Crisis

Here, I have more thought-provoking questions.

What if churches today lost their buildings? Could they still function as churches? If there were war, or a great crisis or severe persecution against the church, as there very well could be in the near future in America, could they still function as churches?

Could churches continue to gather as a body and family in fellowship, teaching and in caring for one another without a large facility? Would the saints throughout a city or region stay connected? Are our connections based on a physical facility or simply on relationship with the Lord and one another? Or would the loss of a building mean the essential loss of the church?

Do You See Why We Need a Reformation?

More questions.

What if a large church lost its budget, or paid staff or senior pastor? Would there still be shepherds to care for the sheep? Or would there be hirelings looking for professional “ministry” elsewhere?

What if a church lost its denominational affiliation? Would it cease to exist? What if a nondenominational church dropped its seeker-friendly philosophy, in-vogue style of “doing church,” or its various programs that attract people, would it still exist as a church? How much dependence have we placed on these things?

I am not saying all of these various amenities are not helpful and useful, but can the church exist without them? If not, then we may have an inflexible wineskin that cannot contain the potent new wine of the Spirit, especially in light of a national crisis.

Thank you for allowing me to think out loud here. There is a lot to consider in these unsettled times in which we live today. {eoa}

How I Saw Foreshadowing of Cancel Culture in the 1980s

In the 1980s, when I was in my 30s, I was heavily involved in building bridges between Blacks and whites—mainly within Pentecostal and charismatic circles. Charisma magazine has had dozens of cover stories on Black leaders over the years. And I have attended many meetings on reconciliation and even hosted a few in our offices. In that era, few other Christian magazines even covered the Black church, let alone champion it or its leaders.

I had been doing my part for racial reconciliation since I was in high school in the days when the South was just integrating its schools. I wrote editorials about racial reconciliation in 1969 when I was on the student newspaper at Lakeland High School. I framed one of them in my office because I am proud of it.

I have been an advocate for racial reconciliation for almost my entire adult life. So, I was surprised—nay, shocked—when one of our writers called me a racist back in the late 1980s and said he would get the Christian Black community to boycott Charisma. Allow me to give you the backstory which I told in a recent podcast.

In the late 1980s, Jamie Buckingham, my late mentor, officially took on the editorship of Ministry Today, our magazine for pastors. He picked leaders to write columns on various topics affecting ministry. Buckingham had a friend, an African American professor (someone I did not know at the time), whom he asked to write a column called “The Black Experience” because he believed (as I did) that it was an important subject and that it should be written by someone of color. It ran in the magazine for several years.

Later Jamie decided to rotate columnists and ended several, including this one. Apparently writing the column gave this professor prestige in his circle of influence, and he was not happy, even angry, at the decision to end it. He seemed to feel it was his column, and we did not have the right to end it. The only possible reason we did so (in his opinion) was because we were racists, not considering that racists would have never asked him to write a regular column to start with.

I was shocked. Even though he also called Jamie a racist, no one had ever called me that, and I took it personally. I was upset and didn’t know what to do. Because I knew some nationally known African American leaders, I visited two very high profile leaders in their offices to seek their advice after explaining the situation in person.

What I discovered surprised me. Both leaders independently told me not to worry. They didn’t consider this man to be that influential. And they knew neither I nor those who worked with me on Charisma or Ministries Today were racist. (You’d recognize the names of each national leader, and I’m still friends with them all these decades later.)

Nothing ever came of the threats of a boycott. The tiny controversy blew over. A couple of years later the professor who wrote the column approached me at a racial reconciliation meeting and wanted to be sure things were fine between us. I hugged his neck and assured him I forgave him. I’ve not heard from the man since.

But this experience made me aware that people who are angry would try to “cancel” me by telling people to boycott the magazines. (These were the days before the internet.) It was foreshadowing of what today we call “cancel culture,” which is such a problem I’ve written a new book called God and Cancel Culture (which releases Sept. 7).

It was also foreshadowing that angry people would call others racist merely if they disagreed with something you did. It has nothing to do with if you are actually racist. Today there are those on the Left who use the term for anyone they disagree with. The new critical race theory even says all whites are racist merely because they are white. How absurd.

One of my Black preacher friends explained to me later that this professor must have wanted to insult me (and Jamie). Instead of using some swear word, he used the worst term he could think of: racist.

As far as I can remember, no one has called me a racist since that experience, and you can tell I still feel passionately about racial reconciliation. It’s something I’ve covered as a journalist, and it’s something I’ve tried to live out.

I want to continue to build bridges with the platforms God has given me. Charisma Media will continue the champion the cause of reconciliation and to cover what some call the Black Church. Even our recent Charisma cover story on Gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard (June/July 2021 issue) is the latest example.

You can hear the rest of this story—and it’s one you will really want to listen to—on this podcast I just recorded, titled: Stephen Strang; When I was Called a Racist.

And I want to encourage you to pre-order my new book God and Cancel Culture. I’ve also started a new podcast called God and Cancel Culture that I think you’ll find very interesting and want to start downloading immediately.

As I look back, that experience helped prepare me for what we are experiencing in our culture today. I hope my experience helps you see that just because someone uses the word racist, it doesn’t mean it’s true. {eoa}

Joyce Meyer: Healing Your Wounded Soul

The most important message I can ever share with people is that God loves them and has good plans for them through life in Christ. We all need to have a revelation about God’s love for us, because until we do, we’ll struggle to have true, lasting love, joy and peace in our everyday lives.

The world is full of heartbroken people who have been mistreated or abused in some way. And they’re pretending to be OK, desperately hoping other people will think they’ve got it all together.

The truth is none of us are perfect, and we all go through hard times and get hurt by someone or something. It’s astounding the hurtful things people can do to others, but it has helped me to understand that hurting people hurt people. And many times, when people abuse others, they are acting out of their own pain, so it goes on from generation to generation.

But I have good news: If you’ve been hurt in the past, you don’t have to spend your life being miserable, angry, bitter, resentful or full of self-pity, hurting others. Through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you can receive complete healing in your soul—your mind, will and emotions. God can restore your life and make your life better than it was before you were wounded.

Going Through the Healing Process

I know what it’s like to hurt so much you don’t think you can stand it anymore, and you feel hopeless about the future. For most of my childhood, my father abused me, and I never knew growing up what it was like to feel safe, secure and loved. As a result, I became an angry, suspicious, critical, judgmental adult.

When I left home at 18, I thought I was leaving my problems behind me, but I came to realize there were many problems in my soul because of the abuse I had endured. I desperately needed the healing love of God to restore my life!

Isaiah 61:1-3 (NKJV) says Jesus came “to preach good tidings to the poor … to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn … to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.”

Thank God for His promise to heal the brokenhearted, comfort those who mourn and set the captives free! Now, I’m not going to tell you it’s easy to go through the healing process; it takes time, diligence in studying the Word and lots of prayer to walk out the healing that is yours by virtue of the blood of Christ. But as believers in Jesus, we have the authority of His name to overcome sin and access the power of God in our lives, so we can experience the promises in His Word.

And the promises of God belong to anyone who is born again!

Making the Divine Exchange

When we come into a relationship with Christ, a divine exchange happens. He takes our sin and the messes in our lives and gives us His righteousness, peace and joy (see Rom. 14:17). He gives us joy for mourning, beauty for ashes, praise instead of depression, forgiveness instead of blame, righteousness instead of guilt, hope instead of despair and so on. All we have to do is give up our ashes and receive God’s beauty.

A good place to start is admitting you need God’s help. It’s okay to not be okay—God helps the humble! (See 1 Pet. 5:5-7.) We need to pray, “I love You, Lord, and I appreciate my salvation, but I am a mess! I want the truth in Your Word to set me free from deception, the bondage of sin and pain in my soul. Please help me open my eyes in any area where I am deceived and teach me Your truth.”

Then we need to commit ourselves to study the Word and grow in our faith in Christ. As we renew our minds according to the Word, we will trust God more completely and believe what He says more than what others say to us, more than our feelings and more than our circumstances. That’s when we live in His beauty … filled with His love, free from the prison of our past and healed in our soul.

I want to encourage you today to humble yourself before God and take Him at His Word. He loves you more than you can comprehend, and He wants you to be free to walk in His good plans for your life.

Take time every day to study His Word, pray and cast your cares on Him because He cares about you and wants what is best for you. When you do, you’ll find that life becomes a beautiful, wonderful, amazing journey! {eoa}

Cindy Jacobs’ Prophetic Vision: Break the Spirit of Harassment

As I was praying about this word of encouragement, I had a vision. In this vision, I saw all these demonic powers coming to tear you down emotionally.

Sometimes in our lives, we have true things that happen to us that can cause our emotions to go down. But this time, I am seeing an attack. Let me explain some of the ways that the attacks are happening.

One of the attacks is harassment. You’re losing many things. Things seem to be breaking around your house. You try to get something done or you go to a store and you buy a part, and when you get home, you find out you got the wrong part. Well, all of these situations could just be considered a part of life, but when they pile up, I have found that it is actually a harassing spirit.

I want to pray for you about that because, normally, if you drop something, you say, “Well, no big deal.” But with these powers of darkness working against you, and maybe just other stressors in life—we have a funny saying here in the U.S.: “The straw that broke the camel’s back.” I think it’s a British saying, but it means “that’s the last thing that you can handle,” and you just emotionally can’t handle anything else.

I want to pray to break apart this harassing spirit, the feeling of anxiety and that you’re just at the end of things because this is not God’s will for your life. The Word of the Lord is clear: He has called you to have an abundant life. He has called you to be in peace. He has called you to be prosperous. He has called you to live a joyful life.

I just want to say to you that when the accuser of the brethren comes after you and says, “You’re not going to make it. You’re not going to pay those bills. Your family isn’t going to be okay,” you’ve got to rise up in your soul and do what the Bible says: Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. In Greek, this literally means, “And he will run in terror from you.” So, I want to say that your life should be one that is such a blessing that the devil doesn’t want to get too near to you. He shouldn’t want to be around you. Every time he comes near you, he just gets beat up.

I remember one time where I was sitting on a kitchen stool when my kids were little, and a good friend came in and said, “What is the matter with you, Cindy? You just look so tired and everything.”

And I rose up and I said, “You think I look bad. You should see what the devil looks like. He has been trying to come against me today, and I’ve just been beating up on him all day long. He’s not coming into my house tomorrow. Tomorrow will be a better day, and he’s not going to do this again.”

So I break the power of the harassing spirit! I’m just feeling some powers that aren’t quite right; the harassment that is in your home, around your family, around your finances—I bind that accusatory spirit. Satan is accusing you, speaking into your mind and telling you that you don’t have the mind of Christ anymore. You just have all these junk thoughts Satan is trying to put into your mind.

I want to say to you, in the name of Jesus, rise up! In the name of Jesus, rise up, cast down those imaginations, learn to recognize when it is the enemy of your soul and take authority over it! You’re a winner, and you will win! God bless you! {eoa}

Watch: Disney+ to Host LGBTQ Pride Parade

First it was Nickelodeon. Then it was “Blues Clues.” Now it’s Disney+.

The popular streaming service is just the latest of many entertainment providers to host a June Gay Pride parade. While Disney has celebrated “Gay Days” at the parks around the world since the 1990’s, this move is seen by many as a push to force children to question their sexuality and gender from an increasingly younger age.

Watch this video to learn how the church must arise to protect the innocence of children.
