‘Fiddler on the Roof’ Star Chaim Topol has Died at 87

Chaim Topol, the star of the 1971 movie “Fiddler on the Roof,” passed away on Wednesday at age 87.

Topol also performed his role as the poor Jewish milkman, Tevye, live on stage over 3,500 times.

Born in Tel Aviv, Topol served in the acting troupe in the Israel Defense Forces. He first gained critical attention for his role as Sallah Shabati in an Israeli film of the same name. In that movie, Topol played the role of a destitute Mizrahi (Middle Eastern) Jew living in a transit camp with his family.

While that film was a success in Israel, it was the role of Tevye that would win him international fame.

Topol had been playing the part of Tevye in Hebrew in the Israeli musical, but when he decided to audition for the British production of “Fiddler on the Roof,” he landed his role in the film adaptation.

Film director Norman Jewison went to London to watch Topol and was so smitten with his performance that he hired him for film. The success of the Fiddler on the Roof musical led to Topol being one of the first Israeli actors to win international recognition.

Many Israeli politicians mourned Topol’s passing.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted a farewell message” “My wife Sara and I, like all citizens of Israel, part with great sorrow today from our beloved Chaim Topol—a favorite of the audience who was one of Israel’s greatest artists. He was one of the great lovers of the Land of Israel, and the nation loved him back.”

President Isaac Herzog called him “a titan of Israeli culture.”

Opposition leader Yair Lapid also tweeted, “Chaim Topol, winner of the Israel Prize, man of spirit and culture. Tovia (using the Hebrew version of the name Tevye), Fiddler on the Roof and the legendary Sallah Shabati, who taught us love of culture and love of country, has passed away.” {eoa}

Australian Parliament Member Accuses Hillsong of Money Laundering, Tax Evasion

The scandals surrounding Hillsong Church in Australia continue to balloon, and to make a black mark on the body of Christ. Last year, founder Brian Houston resigned his position as lead pastor over legal problems over how the church handled a problem with pedophilia concerning his father in the late 1990s.

Then, Carl Lentz, the flamboyant pastor of Hillsong NYC was caught having an affair, forcing him to resign.

And now, Australian Parliament Member Andrew Wilke has invoked parliamentary privilege to level accusations of “money laundering and tax evasion,” which has produced what he claims are leaked documents from the megachurch that he says reveal it earned $80 million more than it publicly declared, The Guardian reported.

Wilkie says the leaked financial records and documents were provided to the Australian Taxation Office and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. The Guardian reported Wilkie was critical that those revelations had not been acted on.

“This is a failure of regulatory oversight every bit as alarming as Hillsong’s criminality,” Wilkie said in parliament on Thursday.

“Hillsong has disputed the allegations against officials of the church and claimed many of Wilkie’s representations were false or out of context and that the church was engaging with regulators as part of an ongoing legal case,” The Guardian reported.

“Hillsong Church has been open and transparent with our congregation about past governance failures, and over the past twelve months we have engaged independent, professional assistance to overhaul our governance and accountability procedures,” the church said in a statement.

Speaking in the Federation Chamber, Wilkie claimed a whistleblower provided him with financial records and board papers related to Hillsong last year. Wilkie alleged the papers showed evidence of fraud, money laundering and tax evasion at the church.

“Laying two large stacks of folders willed with papers, and in those papers were claims that four members of the Houston family spent $150,000 of church money on a luxury retreat in Cancun, Mexico,” according to The Guardian. Other allegations against Hillsong claimed lavish spending on luxury watches, luggage sets, designer clothes, skateboards and cash gifts to board members for birthdays and anniversaries.

March CM CoverWillkie also claimed that Brian Houston used “private jets like Ubers,” and alleged that the church founder undertook trips costing $55,000, $52,000, $30,000, $22,000 and $20,000 in one three-month period.

The documents also alleged that “Phil Dooley, who took over leadership of the church after Houston, had spent tens of thousands on business class flights for himself and his daughter.”

“Hillsong followers believe the money they put in the poor box goes to the poor, but these documents show how that money is actually used to do the kind of shopping that would embarrass a Kardashian,” Wilkie said.

Pro-Life Conservative Destroys Lawyer’s Dream of Preserving Roe v. Wade Memorabilia

There are occurrences in life that fall into place so perfectly that they seem to be guided by the hand of God Himself.

Such is the case when the lawyer who first embarked on the Roe v. Wade case, 80-year-old Linda Coffee, put a large collection of memorabilia from the case up for auction. Her hopes were to pass on some 150 documents related to the landmark decision to the next generation of abortion activists and continue the push to keep abortion legal.

To her and every pro-abortion acolyte’s dismay, these historical documents instead wound up in the hands of the pro-life conservative talk show host and co-founder of Blaze Media, Glenn Beck.

As reported by The Blaze:

“According to the Los Angeles auction house Nate D. Sanders Auctions, Coffee’s collection ‘documents the entire journey—from the letter Coffee wrote to Sarah Weddington proposing that the two women work together “to challenge the Texas Abortion Statute,” to the receipt for $ given to Coffee after filing the case in Texas, to the original affidavit signed by Norma McCorvey (Jane Roe), to the Supreme Court quill pens given to Coffee by the Court after successfully arguing the case.’

“The auction house noted further that ‘the archive contains nearly 150 pages of documents and letters related to the case, plus personal effects such as Coffee’s law license, bestowed upon her in 1968 only two years before she would file Roe v. Wade.'”

It is hard to measure the level of irony seen within the transaction, as Coffee and her lesbian partner Rebecca Hartt said to D Magazine in an interview:

“We don’t know who’s going to end up acquiring it, but hopefully it will motivate some of the people to get into law or politics or whatever, because it needs to be challenged,” Hartt said.

It motivated people alright.

With an opening bid of $50,000, Beck ended up taking the entire collection home with him for a staggering $615,632 (including a 25% buyer’s premium).

For Beck and his wife however, “the real price of these documents were the lives of at least 60 million children.”

Winning the documents in fact came as a surprise to Beck, who thought he would lose “to someone like Bill or Melinda Gates who are very much interested in those things that Dickens’ Scrooge would describe as policies that ‘decrease the surplus population.'”

Instead of rallying future generations to the cause of slaughtering millions more children upon the altar of abortion, Beck has different plans for the documents.

“If we can use this to help expose this culture of death and Moloch worship, any monetary price we could personally pay would be worth it,” Beck says.

“I think this case joined with the testimony of those who have now had abortions who are forever scarred will be a powerful presentation,” he added. “It is not just the life of the baby we all should be concerned about, but also that of the mother. The killing of one’s unborn child can hold a mother in suffering for the rest of her life.”

Beck however does not want his acquiring of these historic documents to be a point of division. Instead, he wants to use it as an educational talking point to highlight the dark history behind abortion and contemplate “the darkest and most important issues that have been asked and answered differently throughout human history.”

How much of a God-thing is to take what the enemy has used for evil for decades and place it in the hands of a pro-life American who has a massive platform?

As the Word of God says in Genesis 50:20 and in Romans 8:28, God can take anything that the enemy is weaponizing for his own nefarious schemes and turn it around into something good.

Beck’s acquisition and planned use of these documents that led to the murder of tens of millions of human babies is yet one more example of God’s amazing and redemptive power. {eoa}

Impoverished Elderly American: The Government Is ‘Going to Starve Us Out’

Recently, 63-year-old Danny Blair waited in a mile-long line in the Appalachian foothills for free food. Days before, he had received a letter announcing his pandemic-era benefits to help buy groceries would be drastically slashed.

In his own state, lawmakers voted to end the state’s health emergency last spring, cutting food stamp benefits created to help vulnerable Americas like Blair weather the worst of COVID. Blair had been receiving $200 a month, but the government reduced his allotment to just $30.

“I thought, ‘Wow, the government is trying to kill us now,” Blair, who survives on his Social Security disability check and lives in a mobile home with his wife, told . “They are going to starve us out.”

This is the normal for many Americans says, End Times expert Michael Snyder. And the Biden Administration says the American economy is good right now? Not a chance.

Snyder says that several factors are coming to push millions of Americans into a state of “food insecurity.”

“We haven’t seen anything like this in a long time,” Snyder said on his blog . “Food prices have been rising aggressively throughout the past year, and so our money does not go nearly as far as it once did.

“Meanwhile, food stamp benefits are being slashed. The federal government had greatly enhanced food stamp benefits for many Americans during the COVID pandemic, but now, that emergency program is coming to and end. What this means is that many Americans are going to have very little money to spend on food at a time when economic conditions are starting to get really tough.”

Check out James Lasher’s interview with LA Dream Center’s Matthew Barnett, who talks about food insecurity and emergency ministries in this dire time of need for American families:

Most Americans, Snyder says, understand that something has seriously gone wrong, and this is pushing consumer confidence lower.

Food insecurity, as defined by , is when you don’t have enough money to buy the healthy foods you need, or if you have to skip meals because you don’t have enough money to buy food.

In fact, the website says, if you counted the number of healthy meals missing from food insecure households last year in New York City alone, they would add up to a whopping 242 millions. The statistics for the entire country are staggering. In 2016, 41.2 million people lived in food-insecure households.

And there is no single demographic that food insecurity hits most. It affects people of all ages, and man fall in and out of being food insecure, depending upon their situation.”

states that over 34 million Americans face hunger each and every day, including one in eight children. Food banks, shelters and soup kitchens may seem like the answer to hungry in America. But many of these are a short-term response.

Today, there are more than 400 emergency food programs, which serve 63,000 affiliated pantries and shelters. Feeding Children Everywhere is but one program that reaches out to the impoverished and destitute.

Somebody Cares International is another, as well as Convoy of Hope. Many churches throughout the country serve the hungry with outreach programs, including New Life Church, under Senior Pastor Choco DeJesus, in the Chicago area.

But these noble programs simply aren’t enough,” Snyder says.

“This is the country we live in now,” Snyder says. “Once upon a time we had the largest and most prosperous middle class in the history of the world, but now the middle class is being systematically destroyed. The cost of living is increasing faster than our paychecks are, and that means that our standard of living is going down.

The Atlanta Fed’s Housing Affordability Monitor reports that housing is more unaffordable right now than it was at any time during the last housing crash.

Auto loans have become extremely oppressive, and now that the economy is going downhill, the number of Americans getting behind on their payments is rapidly increasing.

March CM CoverUnfortunately, Snyder says, this is just the beginning. “We are in the early chapters of a major economic downturn, and the tsunami of layoffs that we have been witnessing is going to get a lot worse.”

And, Snyder says, when “people don’t have enough food to eat, they tend to get really angry,” he says. “And at tis moment, hunger is spreading like wildfire all across America.

“In the meantime, Blair and his wife will continue to arise at 4a.m. so that they can be the first in line to receive handouts. It’s what Blair and his wife believe they must do in order to survive.”

Morning Rundown: Demonic Ritual Sends Dozens of Young Women to Hospital

Here’s a quick summary of the top stories on :

Demonic Ritual Sends Dozens of Young Women to Hospital

Satan is trying to take control of young people’s lives, and preys on the world’s lack of knowledge regarding warfare in the spiritual realm.

By convincing people that demonic activities and rituals are harmless and no big deal, they in turn open themselves up to spiritual attacks that can have physical manifestations.

This is what many parents are fearing when 28 young women were hospitalized after collapsing while playing with Ouija boards at a school in Colombia.

The director of the school and several teachers took the young women to a local hospital for medical care and evaluation.

As reported by the Daily Mail, “Hugo Torres, head of the Galeras Educational Institution in Pasto, southern Colombia, said: ‘There were 28 possible cases of anxiety in school students.’

“‘Given the reported cases, a series of comments were unleashed on the community that, rather than helping to resolve the situation, led to confusion and an adverse environment for our work.’

“‘For this reason, INEGA is allowed to report that the students were referred to the local municipal hospital according to protocols in place.’

“‘Directors and teachers accompanied the students during the evaluation process.’

‘The respective parents and/or guardians were informed of the situation at the time.'”

One concerned mother who works at the hospital called on parents to be more proactive about the activities their children are involved in.

“Parents, you have to move, investigate what’s happening at school, because our children cannot continue in this situation.

“Our children always have a good breakfast, and it cannot be said that what’s happening is due to lack of food.”

This is not some isolated incident, either, that can just be brushed off as a mass coincidence.

In Nov. 2022, 11 teenagers were found at another school in Columbia having passed out while playing with a Ouija board as well.

In an exclusive Charisma magazine article, Evangelist John Ramirez shined light on the practices of the devil and his minions after growing up in spiritual darkness for years.

“I learned in my time as a devil-worshipper that demons, principalities, territorial spirits and familiar spirits love culture. They love humanity, but they also are fixated on controlling regions, territories and atmospheres. Some atmospheres and regions have poverty, some areas experience deep addiction and substance abuse, some have prostitution, and some areas are known for suicide. Even the more prosperous areas of the world are controlled by money, power and greed. Demons live there, too.”

So, when the door is opened for demonic spirits to attach themselves to human victims, they take it.

This is why it is so dangerous for these young women and others like them all over the world to engage in rituals like Ouija even in jest. It opens the door to demonic attack and without the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, there is nothing they can do to fight against it.

It is through the spreading of the gospel and saving knowledge of Jesus Christ that one can become equipped with the full armor of God to combat the enemy and his forces that wreak havoc on earth, just as they’ve done in the lives of these young women. {eoa}

Satan Is Losing the War as Gospel Spreads in Pakistan

Evangelist Chris Mikkelson always beams with joy when he and his team head to Pakistan for kingdom crusades.

Much like his mentors, Reinhold Bonnke and Daniel Kolenda who evangelized the entire continent of Africa and saw millions of lives saved by Jesus, Mikkelson has poured out his heart and soul to see all people in the predominantly Muslim country of Pakistan come to Christ. And he is succeeding despite many obstacles from the enemy—Satan—and the Pakistani government. Mikkelson has conducted more than 17 crusades in Pakistan in recent years and has seen more than 1 million individuals accept Jesus as their savior.

This week, Mikkelson and his team are back in Pakistan to share the gospel with the lost souls of that country. On Wednesday, his ministry held a pastor’s conference and, on Friday, a gospel festival will be held.

“It’s going to be an epic week!” Mikkelson said on Instagram.

“We are going to have an amazing week ministering to our pastors and leaders and at our gospel festival for local churches,” Mikkelson says. “Please pray for a multitude of souls to be saved, healed and delivered. Also please pray for our protection and favor along the way.”

Despite being given permission to hold his crusades, there is always a danger from outside elements who wish the halt the spreading of the gospel of the Christ in an Islamic country. Mikkelson says there is a hunger in the Pakistani people for more in their lives, and that “more element” is Jesus.

March CM Cover“I truly believe we’re in the middle of the greatest harvest this world has ever seen,” he says. “Church attendance may be down in some countries, but the churches are being filled and planted by the masses in Pakistan.”

Mikkelson’s social media followers responded positively to his return to their country.

“With your message, God will open the bonds of people, the sick will be healed, the lame will walk, the deaf will hear, the sick will be healed from illness and God’s name will be more honored and glorified in this place,” a user named Yavve wrote. “We will all fast from tomorrow and let’s pray together every day that God will fill this program with His grace. I’m sending Pastor Waqas Gill and Evangelist Asif from Punjab area. They are honored to be a part of this gathering.” {eoa}

ER Prayer Brings Woman Back From the Dead

During the Coffeyville (Kan.) Revival a medical doctor testified of a woman rising from the dead in an Emergency Room when an Assembly of God pastor laid hands on her and prayed over her.

Landon D. Vinson, M.D., who works in the Emergency Department at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center (CRMC), has been witnessing to colleagues of the miracle he witnessed of God raising a woman from the dead in the Emergency Room. Now, he is telling it to churches.

Rev. Randy DePriest, pastor of the First Assembly of God of Coffeyville, Kansas, and a key leader in the Coffeyville Revival, witnessed the miracle when he was called upon by the medical staff to console the woman’s husband. DePriest invited Dr. Vinson to tell First Assembly of God of the miracle that they witnessed.

On a recent Sunday morning, Dr. Vinson accepted the invitation to speak.

“I’ve seen hundreds of people at the end of their lives,” Dr. Vinson said. “I am confident of being able to determine if someone was about to die or when they were ‘gone.’ That’s part of the job description.”

During the height of the COVID pandemic, a woman was “down” and was taken to the emergency room in Coffeyville. She was receiving CPR when she was brought into the emergency room and was given CPR for an entire hour after arriving. Her heart stopped beating.

“We did get her heart beating again, but essentially the only thing keeping her heart going was shots of adrenalin in her bloodstream and putting her on a ventilator,” Dr. Vinson said, “From a medical standpoint, she wasn’t alive. She was what we call ‘brain dead.'”

He described to the congregation the numerous ways medical officials determine a person has died. In this instance, they found no signs of life. The woman’s eyes were fixed and dilated; she showed no gag reflex and her limbs showed signs of mottling, all which precede the onset of rigor mortis. Dr. Vinson, his staff and the husband decided to remove her from life support.

Feeling hopeless, as the husband’s last resort he did the only thing he knew to do. He asked for someone to call Pastor Randy DePriest to come and pray.

Dr. Vinson said, “Sure. We’ll wait for the pastor to get here.” Dr. Vinson thought that he and the nurses would simply wait for the pastor out of respect for the woman and her husband. Once Pastor DePriest arrived, he began to pray. During Dr. Vinson’s meeting with the congregation, he said, “We began to pray over her. My head was bowed. There was a nurse in the room. Maybe just a couple minutes into the prayer, a machine began sounding an alarm. I thought I would just turn it off so it would not be distracting. When I looked up, spontaneous breath began coming back. I saw a hand moving on this woman.”

As Pastor DePriest prayed over her, he began to ask her questions. She started nodding her head and responding. “This made no sense to me because she did not have any sign of life,” Dr. Vinson said. “We had taken her off all medications. We had given her four medications to keep her heart going. Those were all turned off. But now her blood pressure was strong. It was going through the roof. She was blinking her eyes. I leaned down and asked, ‘Can you hear me?’ She nodded her head ‘Yes.’ I asked, ‘Do you want us to keep going and fight?’ She aggressively shook her head ‘Yes.'”

Dr. Vinson said, “That was the first true miracle that I’ve ever seen. It was a very humbling moment. I kept hearing God saying, ‘That is My child. I decide who lives.'” It hit home for Dr. Vinson that medical doctors, and perhaps people in general, often think they are in control and call the shots. But Dr. Vinson told the congregation, “No! God will have the ultimate decision.”

Pastor Randy DePriest came to the stage stating, “I had the easy part. I didn’t spend three-and-a-half hours with the patient as Dr. Vinson did. When I walked into ER, I didn’t know that there was no sign of life. Sometimes because of what you might know, you limit God.”

When DePriest arrived, the staff asked him to console the husband since the wife was clinically dead, and they began removing all life support. But they did not inform DePriest of any of this. It was then that DePriest asked, “Before I see the husband, could I go see the patient so I could have an idea of who I’m talking about with the husband?” DePriest remembered, “The prayer of faith shall heal the sick and if they’ve committed any sin they shall be forgiven.”

The medical staff permitted him to do so; thus, he went in and laid his hand on her shoulder. He did not know her condition, or that she was clinically brain dead. He called her by name, and said, “This is Pastor Randy, and I’ve come to pray for you.” Her eyes opened, and he asked, “Can you hear me okay?” She nodded, “Yes.”

Then Pastor DePriest said, “Do you know Jesus Christ as your Savior?” Again, she nodded “Yes.” He continued, “That’s great news. Today we’re going to do what Scripture says. Where two or three agree, touching anything and believing in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, asking Him, it shall be done.

“So, I’m asking God to restore your health and to heal you. Does that sound alright?” Again, her reply was, “Yes.” One of the last things he told the congregation was, “As I prayed that prayer of faith, I didn’t know that in the other room, there were big changes in the monitor.”

March CM CoverAs the woman began responding, Pastor DePriest described how two nurses quickly left the room to prepare her for sedation since she was becoming agitated from intense pain. DePriest noted when the medical professionals returned to transfer her from Coffeyville to another hospital for possible surgery, observation and recovery, that she was fighting to remove herself from the gurney they had placed her on.

As Dr. Vinson wrapped up his testimony at First Assembly of God, he described how he told a nurse, “This was a miracle.” As the nurse was drying her eyes, Vinson attempted to find reasons in his medical books for the occurrence, but God said, “This is My doing.” {eoa}

The words that come out of a person’s mouth have the power of life or death held within them. So, when an awards recipient stands up in front of an audience of millions and declares Jesus to be their Savior, they are speaking life over all who hear their words.

As Disney star Joshua Bassett of the hit show, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” took the stage to accept the award for “Favorite Male TV star,” he used the opportunity to speak life over every young person in the audience.

“I’d love to thank my Savior, Jesus Christ,” Bassett said. “I want to say something. There are a lot of people here who are burdened, broken-hearted, and have been beaten down by life.

“I’m here to tell you: for those of you who’ve lost hope, there’s a very real God who loves you more than you will ever possibly know,” Bassett continued. “His promise is peace, and my testimony is my healing.

“Remember: Forgive quickly, love freely and walk courageously,” Bassett concluded. “Love always wins in the end.”

This public confession comes on the heels of Bassett being baptized at Bethel Church and making waves in the pop culture community because of it.

As reported by The Daily Wire, “The Disney star has come under scrutiny recently when videos circulated of him getting baptized at Bethel Church, a non-denominational church in Redding, California. Because Bassett has previously declared himself a member of the LGBTQ community, followers expressed their confusion over his allegiance to this church.”

Bassett also gave a short testimony at Bethel detailing his struggles growing up a Christian, and the new hardships that came with leaving his faith behind as a young adult.

“My name is Joshua Bassett,” the actor said. “Long story short, I grew up Christian and I ran the other way, as far as I could go, in pursuit of the ‘truth.’

“That only ended in addiction, depression, suicidal ideation, eating disorders, et cetera,” he continued. “No other teacher gave me anywhere near the peace that Jesus Christ did.

“I’m here to publicly declare him as my Lord and savior,” Bassett concluded.

As a member of Gen Z and the same age group as students at Asbury University who just experienced an incredible outpouring of the Lord, Bassett is another example of how his generation is looking for spiritual answers. Their questions can only be answered with Jesus Christ.

Pray that young adults like Bassett can become plugged into a Spirit-filled church that sows into them both spiritually and practically. That they be discipled by mature, grounded Christians who help them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. {eoa}

Morning Rundown: Holy Spirit Moving Mightily at Secular Black Colleges

Here’s a quick summary of the top stories on :

Holy Spirit Moving Mightily at Secular Black Colleges

As Holy Spirit-led revival stirs students’ radical devotion to Jesus on campuses across the nation, historically Black colleges are experiencing powerful outpourings of salvation, repentance, worship and prayer.

A Spirit-filled pastor in Atlanta, Georgia believes student revival and Holy Spirit outpouring is manifesting on campuses near his church—a predominantly Black congregation in the city.

Pastor Arthur Breland highlights three Atlanta-area schools—recognized as historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs)—that show signs of God moving mightily among students.

SBC Removes Saddleback Church Affiliation over Female Pastor

The executive committee of the Southern Baptist Convention removed Saddleback Church from SBC affiliation on Feb. 21 over the church’s decision to hire a female pastor. Saddleback, which was started by Rick Warren and his wife, Kay, is one of the biggest churches in the convention with plants in California and internationally.

The decision concluded that the church was in violation of a core tenet of the SBC’s values. After Warren retired, Andy Wood and his wife, Stacie, took over with Andy as the lead pastor. However, because of Stacie’s role as a “teaching pastor,” the church was found to be “not in friendly cooperation” with the necessary credentials for ministry under the Southern Baptist Convention, according to Baptist Press.
