Isaiah Saldivar Shares Remarkable Testimony of Ex-Gay Man

In a recent livestream, Isaiah Saldivar spoke with Richard Matthews and heard his powerful testimony of leaving the LGBTQ+ community and coming to Christ.

Matthews shares how growing up, he didn’t have his father present in his life, which led him to feel abandoned and alone. Living in a single-parent household, he says he grew up fairly quickly, having to be independent as much as possible. He got into performing arts, which he says was one way of being able to mask and hide the deep-seated rejection lying within him.

Eventually, pornography was the door that led Matthews down a deep, treacherous path.

“…the reason why I got into pornography [was] because those years of bullying I was called gay and it was like, ‘Well, what does this word “gay” mean?'” Matthews says.

Matthews also says that at the time, church had not been helpful for explaining to him what biblical sexuality looks like. He notes that the consequences and the seed of sin had not been explained in an impactful way.

“My pastor ended up having sexual misconduct and just allegations against young boys at my church, and the whole church imploded and fell,” he says. “We stopped going to church; my mom stopped going to church. It was a really big scar for us.”

After dealing for years with sexual immorality, anxiety, nightmares and depression, Matthews finally started going back to church, where he heard the message about the woman who dealt with the issue of blood and her desperation to be healed.

“I was desperate, like nothing was working,” he explains. “There’s this desperation, you’re hitting a wall, there’s this obstacle that you’re trying to get around that you have to go through, and the only way for you to go through it and face your obstacles and trials and traumas and triggers is through Jesus Christ.”

While Matthews still dealt with wanting to be both gay and Christian, he finally came to a place where he honestly told God he wanted to come to Him but was afraid to do so. He knew he needed transformation.

“I opened up my heart in repentance to the Lord to come and do the work and clean my temple,” Matthews says. “I heard the Lord say, ‘Just come to Me. We’ll worry about the other stuff later.’ And this is very vital because I didn’t come to Jesus to be straight. … I came to the Lord for Jesus. And in the process of coming of coming to the Lord, the Lord has sanctified and transformed me in ways that I couldn’t even imagine from the inside out.”

Chris Reed Provides Update Following MorningStar Resignation

Chris Reed released a statement in a newly uploaded video to YouTube about his resignation with MorningStar Ministries.

“Hello friends, family, just come to you tonight in response to regards to a couple of things. No. 1, there seemed to have been some confusion over my departure from MorningStar,” Reed says.

He continues: “My departure from MorningStar was what I said in the letter to the department heads and to the staff and volunteers, which was this: I said I did not want to be leading the ministry that would be in a case against four victims who were abused as children by a former volunteer of the ministry, who is a policeman as well.”

Reed reiterates that this occurrence happened prior to his coming to MorningStar Ministries. He says he did not want to be caught in the middle of the lawsuit between MorningStar and the youth who were affected by abuse from a former ministry volunteer.

“I could not because I know the victims, many of them, we’ve gotten to know them,” Reed says. “I made a tough, painful, painful choice and I just didn’t care, you know, if I lost everything … if I defended the ministry, then it was like I’m having to go against the victims. If I defend the victims, then where does the ministry stand?”

“It happened all before we came here, and that was why I left,” he explains. “There was absolutely no other reason why I left.”

Reed also addresses something that was previously reported on regarding a woman who was connected to MorningStar a few years ago. Reed acknowledges that his relationship with her was wrong, but says this situation was not part of his decision to leave MorningStar. Further, he apologizes for what happened.

“The two were separate completely,” he says. “I want to just make that abundantly clear. And I also want to just say tonight as well, that I am very sorry. Sorry to my wife, sorry to the body of Christ, to my friends, to my family.

“In this time, this season, I am dedicating to spending, before the Lord, with my family, making sure my heart is clean and right,” Reed says. “I just want to say this is so unbecoming of a Christian; it was so unbecoming of a minister; it was so am deeply sorry.”

Reed says everything was properly dealt with and that he was restored after both parties presented their evidence. He says his ascension to replace Rick Joyner at MorningStar was placed on hold for 15 months following the situation. In the video, he also takes full responsibility for the relationship, which lasted approximately one month.

During this time, pray for Chris Reed and his family and all those who have been affected by this sudden shake-up at MorningStar Ministries.

Jesus Warned Us: In the Last Days, People Will Ignore Prophetic Warnings

What a violent culture we live in today. Violent crime is sweeping the country. We’re afraid to go out on the streets at night. Jesus said that things would be increasingly wicked in the last days, and the climate of the time prior to His return would be similar to the climate of the time during Noah’s life. So what was it like in Noah’s time? Are there any distinguishing characteristics that parallel our own?

In Noah’s day two sins predominated: excessive violence and sexual perversion. Genesis 6:5, speaking of Noah’s time, says, “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”

There were other characteristics of Noah’s day as well. Jesus said, “For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be,” (Matt. 24:38–39).

The King’s End-Times Army: Are You Ready for Battle?

In 2018, I’d only been to two nations (one being the U.S.). The Lord told me that in 10 years Jesus at the Door would go global, and the nations would come knocking. This felt impossible. Then in 2020, evangelist Daniel Kolenda invited me to come and record a podcast about my new book, for which he graciously provided the Foreword. Afterward, he told me he wanted me to bring our ministry to Orlando to be a partner with Christ for All Nations. When I went home and prayed, the Holy Spirit said, “I told you the nations would come knocking.” The nations have been opening to us in many unique ways. Our Jesus at the Door app now has users in 170 nations. We know His Word does not return void.

King’s Army

In 2021, I began to feel the Spirit hovering over the waters of my heart. Just as we read in Genesis 1:2, I could feel the Spirit, but the vision was formless. In this brooding season I felt the Lord wanted to do again what He once did in the early years of the Salvation Army well over 100 years earlier. They reminded the body of Christ that the Great Commission (which wasn’t given to evangelists, but to disciples) wasn’t a deployment to the playground but to the battleground!

Jamie Buckingham on Media Madness

The morning after a recent ministry scandal broke, I woke to the internal words, “Beware of the tumblebugs.” It’s been a long time since I thought of tumblebugs. Lying in bed, I remembered kneeling as a child in our barnyard watching those tiny beetles at work.

A tumblebug finds a pile of manure. With its front claws it pulls out a small amount, mixes it liberally with its spit, works it into a ball, then rolls it across the barnyard, pushing the bundle with its nose.

As I look out over the kingdom, I realize God has given His church a gigantic dose of laxative. The secular media—the tumblebugs of society—smelling the results of God’s purgative, have rushed out from under their rocks. They’re not looking for the hand of God, much less His face. They’re not even interested in the type of purgative the Holy Spirit administers to cleanse and purify His church. All they are nosing for is expelled waste. Once found—and God’s people never have excelled at digging latrines—they roll it into a neat little TV spot, serving it up on the 6 o’clock news.

No one is a stronger proponent of freedom of the press than I. But it is truth that sets us free, not twisted, slanted, one-sided, incomplete facts. Such stories land us in more bondage than any journalistic censorship imposed by government regulations. A free press in the hands of irresponsible journalists is as dangerous as a vindictive man who shouts “Fire!” in a public theater. The journalists whose primary intent is to catch people in wrongdoing (or who edit film to create the impression of such) are instruments of their father, the devil.

Why does the press continually ask questions of prominent pastors that attempt to set them up to look like buffoons? Remember what the news reporting media did to former Secretary of Interior James Watt? Once the newspapers discovered he believed in the return of Christ, they warped his words to sound like Watt felt it was OK to destroy our natural resources since the world would be burned up when Jesus returned—the exact opposite of what he believed.

Following my brief foray into the world of the secular media during the PTL scandal, I quickly realized no good can come from Christians being interviewed on programs such as “Larry King Live,” “Nightline” or “60 Minutes.” But following the most recent scandal, I saw publicity-hunting preachers by the score drooling to have their pious faces making nonsensical statements on the tube.

“I do not believe in the flat earth, the earth is a globe,” Marzulli says.

“I am not a flat earther. I made that really clear. And if you want to believe in a flat earth, I’m not going to mock you. I’m not going to disparage you on this show,” he continues.

Marzulli says that according to his research in photos of the planets, and speaking with the man who received the moon landing photos as they were transmitted, it is clear to him from this evidence that the earth is not flat.

“The earth is not flat, it is a globe. The earth was spinning. Ask any pilot. A pilot that goes from point A to point B has to account for the curvature of the earth,” says Marzulli.

Marzulli also points out how the Stonehenge in America lines up perfectly with the Stonehenge in England when the earth’s curvature is accounted for.

“Here’s another thing; when you take America’s Stonehenge and you go out to the summer solstice standing you continue on that line on Google Earth, the line goes over the curvature of the earth and it winds up bisecting the two trilithons at Stonehenge in the U.K.,” he says. “In order to do that, you have to account for the curvature of the earth…”

While many will continue to debate the earth’s roundness, it’s important for us to remember how we must stay focused on our relationship with Jesus above all other things.

We might paraphrase this statement by saying it was business as usual. Noah was building a massive ark without a body of water nearby. There hadn’t even been rain on earth at that point. But Noah faithfully followed the directions God had given him. And as the years went by, he kept on with the job God called him to. No doubt people thought of Noah as some sort of crackpot.

Jesus was saying that in the last days, people also will ignore prophetic warnings. They’ll disregard the clear message of God to them. For the most part it will be business as usual. People will go on with their day-to-day activities.

What It All Means

However, the writing is on the wall for anyone who will pay attention.

And just as Noah was mocked, followers of Jesus will be mocked as well, because that, too, is a sign of the last days. People today laugh at the concept of Bible prophecy and the return of Christ, but one day their mockery will cease and their laughter will stop when Jesus fulfills His words. He is coming back.

The apostle Paul, writing about the first arrival of Jesus Christ to this Earth, said, “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons,” (Gal. 4:4–5).

And again when the time comes, Christ will return. Peter wrote: “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance,” (2 Pet. 3:8–9).

According to Scripture, there is a generation that will not see death. Instead they will be removed from the face of the earth in what is known as the rapture of the church. This is what Jesus was referring to when He said: “Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left,” (Matt. 24:40–41).

Instantaneously millions of believers from around the globe will be caught up into God’s presence. This is spoken of elsewhere in the Bible as well. Paul wrote: “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed,” (1 Cor. 15:51–52).

And John wrote: “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is,” (1 John 3:2).

A Happy Anticipation

Christ is coming for His church, and He said: “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also,” (John 14:2–3).

In the original language, the phrase “come and get you” implies seizing by force. That is exactly what Jesus will do. He will return and take His people into His presence.

Are you ready for His return? Are you looking for it? It means being ready to meet Him. It means living in anticipation of the return of Christ.

To put it another way, it means that you shouldn’t be doing things that would hinder your spiritual life. The teaching of the return of Christ should serve as a motivator, as a comfort to you. As John said, “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure,” (1 John 3:3).

A. B. Simpson pointed out: “There are two ways of looking at the Lord’s coming: a looking for it and looking at it. It is possible to look at it with keen intellect and a profound interest, and yet have it mean nothing to us personally. It is also possible to know but little of the theology of the subject, and yet have a deep and holy longing for the Lord to appear. May this theme be not only our study but also our personal hope.”

It isn’t just intellectually saying, “I know Christ will come again.” Rather, it’s looking for and welcoming His return. And if there’s anything in our lives that should be changed, anything that is not right with God, we should deal with it now.

Billy Graham and Charles Spurgeon: Examples for Election Engagement

“Larry, I’m a pastor and I want to be like Billy Graham—preach the gospel! I don’t want to get involved in politics.”

Graham did preach the gospel and lots more. He told me personally (pointing to his Bible), “Stay in the book!”

Remember: Graham was an evangelist, not a pastor whose primary responsibility is to feed the flock, preach “the whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27b, NKJV) and equip the saints for works of service (Eph. 4:12) so we fulfill our mandate to be “salting” society, holding back decay and not simply trying to avoid controversy.

He did both as God’s ambassador, announcing the gospel plus addressing the evils of his day: atheistic communism; segregation and racism (front-page headline in South Africa: “Billy Graham Calls Apartheid Sin!”); same-sex “marriage” and sexual immorality. He and his son Franklin placed a full-page statement in the Charlotte Observer exposing gay marriage and upholding biblical marriage between a man and a woman.

Charles Spurgeon

In the mid-1800s, Charles Spurgeon, prince of preachers, was a master Bible teacher, believing in the sufficiency of Scripture to address all issues as he emphasized the sovereignty of God and called for repentance. I love his famous quote: “Bold-hearted men are always called mean-spirited by cowards!”

He spoke out boldly against slavery, causing his sermons to be burned in America. He said,

I often hear it said, “Do not bring religion into politics.” This is precisely where it ought to be brought. … The Cabinet and Parliament do the work of the nation as before the Lord … We have had enough of clever men without conscience, let us now see what honest, God-fearing men will do. … Let the policies which are founded on wrong be cast like idols to the moles and to the bats.  Whether we are kings, or queens, or prime ministers, or members of parliament, or crossing sweepers, this is our rule if we are Christians.

Free Speech

Spurgeon speaks to us in America today. Multitudes have been misled regarding the “separation of church and state,” (which appears nowhere in our founding documents) and correctly interpreted means freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.

Many have been misled by the so-called Johnson Amendment (1954) used to intimidate and muzzle pastors afraid of losing tax exempt status, causing scores to refrain from any advocacy or opposition to political candidates or legislation. Truth be told, the IRS has never actually revoked the tax-exempt status of any church for violating this unconstitutional policy. The Alliance Defending Freedom is currently working to once and for all eliminate this measure (contact them for any caution or clarification).

Are you aware that prior to 1954, churches and ministries never had any problem speaking about political issues and political leaders? 

Spurgeon was not afraid to address controversial issues such as freedom of speech. He spoke on other political issues:  slavery, which he branded as the “foulest blot;” corruption in government (excoriating a “tyrant king”); using his monthly magazine “The Sword and the Trowel” to address societal events, which were mild compared to today. He refused to go woke as he spoke out about compromise and what he believed to be unscriptural practices, eventually departing his Baptist Union denomination and being “canceled” by colleagues and friends.

There is a cost to being a person of conviction. I know this firsthand, as I experienced the same thing along my ministry journey. After doing a biblical based video called “Is Gay OK?” the top leader of the church where I served said it was a “deal breaker”: “Just go and don’t come back.”

Applied Today

Do you really think Spurgeon, a man of strong convictions, would have been silent if a young girl in his congregation had teen boys come into her bathroom or changing room? Would he have been mute if leaders in London were endorsing and celebrating taxpayer-funded abortion up until the moment of birth and beyond? Would he have turned a deaf ear to English magistrates pushing surgical mutilation of young children in the name of “gender care,” pornography distributed in schools, calls for defunding police, and parades of homosexuals and undressed lesbians openly in the streets of London along with drag queen presentations in elementary schools?

Would Spurgeon simply look the other way if over 1 million unborn babies were slaughtered in the womb yearly? How about 100,000 dying yearly from drugs coming into the U.K. from “open borders?” Or 100,000 children declared missing, with scores ending up in sex trafficking, rape and horrible deaths? 

Is this “loving our neighbor” to allow this on our watch and support politicians who have this blood on their hands? Let’s be real: Is simply studying books of the Bible and avoiding hot-button issues getting the job done?

“So for one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin” (James 4:17, NASB).

1. Complacent. Sadly, there are many in the pulpit who have “left [their] first love” (Rev. 2:4b, NKJV) and are merely maintaining status quo religious services to make a living and wait out the clock until it’s time to recalibrate careers or comfortably retire.

2. Compromising. Tragically, some are caving to “woke” cultural pressures and betraying the call to “contend for the faith … once delivered” (Jude1:3) and choosing to yield to the fear of man and societal acceptance.

3. Cowardly. Those first cast in the lake of fire (see Rev. 21:8b) are those who submit to the fear of man, lacking biblical convictions in these “times that try men’s souls,” they’re afraid of losing members, tithers and maybe their salary and next mortgage payment.

4. Courageous. Billy Graham said, “Courage is contagious!” and the good news today is that many are awakening to bring both grace and truth, declaring the “whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27b) in one of the most serious moments in America’s history.

Billy Graham and Charles Spurgeon: Our Examples in Election Engagement

Remember: Graham was an evangelist, not a pastor whose primary responsibility is to feed the flock, preach “the whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27b, NKJV) and equip the saints for works of service (Eph. 4:12), enabling us to fulfill our mandate to be “salting” society, holding back decay and not merely trying to avoid controversy.

He did both as God’s ambassador, announcing the gospel in addition to addressing the evils of his day: atheistic communism; segregation and racism (front-page headline in South Africa: “Billy Graham Calls Apartheid Sin!”); same-sex “marriage” and sexual immorality. He and his son Franklin placed a full-page statement in the Charlotte Observer exposing gay marriage and upholding biblical marriage between a man and a woman.

Charles Spurgeon

In the mid-1800s, Charles Spurgeon, known as the prince of preachers, was a master Bible teacher, believing in the sufficiency of Scripture to address all issues as he emphasized God’s sovereignty and called for repentance. I love his famous quote: “Bold-hearted men are always called mean-spirited by cowards!”

He spoke out firmly against slavery, causing his sermons to be burned in America. He said,
