My ‘Rabbi Jesus’ Post: The Surprising Response

To my surprise, while the post received 1,100 likes on Facebook, where I have 587,000 followers, it received 2,800 likes on X, where I have only 61,000 followers. Why so much interest in this simple, matter-of-fact post?

Prophetic Plotlines Unfolding: War in Israel

It has been 10 months since the brutal massacres and horrifying videos of what Hamas did to Jewish families in Israel on Oct. 7. Unfortunately, much of the world has already moved on. Many have all but forgotten the graphic scenes that dominated world headlines for the month of October 2023. Perhaps more shocking is how world opinion has turned against the people of Israel in their response to defending their nation from further massacres that have been promised by Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran and other Islamic terrorist organizations.

The question that many rational people are asking is, How is the world obsessed with Israel, which makes up less than 1% of the world’s population, waging an unwanted defensive war, while ignoring openly evil regimes slaughtering and enslaving millions?

Furthermore, how has this led to a stunning worldwide rise in antisemitism and outright Jew hatred, the levels of which have already exceeded what they were in World War II, while international protests openly call for more massacres of the Jewish people?

Morning Rundown: 3 New Very Frightening Diseases

Here’s a quick rundown of the top stories on :

3 New Very Frightening Diseases

Why are there suddenly so many stories about deadly diseases in the news?  We are just a little over two months away from November, and so this is a perfect time to deeply alarm the general public about a coming health crisis, right?  But this time around it isn’t just one major disease that is making news.

As you will see below, people are freaking out about three different very frightening diseases.  Of course when people are afraid that they might die from some extremely deadly outbreak, they are far more likely to accept measures that they would usually not even consider during normal times.

In the Northeast, there is a tremendous amount of concern about the Eastern Equine Encephalitis virus right now.  People in Massachusetts have been instructed to “limit their time outdoors” due to a confirmed case in that state, and now confirmed cases have appeared in Vermont and New Hampshire …

Encouraging Prophetic Engagement

This is part three of a three-part article. Find part one at this link and part two at this one.

Prophetic individuals are uniquely positioned to influence political and social spheres profoundly. They carry a vision of God’s justice and righteousness that can challenge the status quo and inspire transformative change. Here are key areas where prophetic voices can make a significant impact, particularly in combating woke extremism and liberal ideology:

1. Advocating for the marginalized. Prophetic voices must speak out for those who are oppressed and marginalized. Just as Moses stood before Pharaoh to demand freedom for the Israelites, modern prophets must confront unjust systems and advocate for the vulnerable in society. This includes standing against policies that harm the unborn, the elderly and the disabled.

2. Promoting traditional family values. Prophetic voices should champion the biblical definition of family and marriage. This involves opposing ideologies that seek to undermine these sacred institutions and advocating for policies that support family stability, parental rights and the sanctity of marriage.

3. Defending free speech and religious liberty. In a culture where cancel culture and censorship threaten free expression, prophetic individuals must defend the right to speak truth and practice faith without fear of retribution. This includes opposing policies and movements that seek to silence dissenting voices and restrict religious freedoms.

4. Championing justice and mercy. While promoting justice, prophetic voices should also emphasize the importance of mercy, forgiveness and redemption. This involves opposing punitive measures that lack compassion and advocating for restorative justice practices that align with biblical principles.

5. Influencing national affairs. Prophetic individuals should engage with national issues that impact righteousness and justice. This includes participating in political processes, supporting legislation that aligns with divine principles and holding leaders accountable to ethical standards. It also means opposing policies that promote moral relativism, gender confusion and other forms of ideological extremism.

6. Fostering community transformation. Prophetic ministry is not limited to grand political movements; it also involves grassroots efforts to transform local communities. This can include initiatives to combat poverty, support education and promote reconciliation among diverse groups. Prophetic voices should work to build communities where biblical values are lived out in practical ways.

7. Educating and mobilizing others. Prophetic voices have a responsibility to educate and mobilize others. By raising awareness about social and political issues, they can inspire collective action and empower communities to work towards justice and righteousness. This includes providing biblical perspectives on contemporary issues and equipping believers to engage thoughtfully and effectively in public discourse.

Prophetic Engagement in National Affairs

Prophetic individuals have a crucial role in shaping the moral and spiritual direction of the nation. This involves:

1. Holding leaders accountable. Ensuring that political leaders adhere to ethical standards and biblical principles, and speaking out against corruption and injustice.

2. Influencing policy. Engaging with policymakers to advocate for legislation that aligns with divine principles and opposing policies that promote moral relativism and ideological extremism.

3. Building coalitions. Collaborating with like-minded individuals and organizations to amplify the impact of prophetic advocacy and create a united front for righteousness and justice.

Fostering Community Transformation

Prophetic ministry extends beyond national politics to grassroots efforts that transform local communities. This includes:

1. Combating poverty. Initiating programs that address economic inequalities and provide support for those in need, in alignment with biblical teachings on justice and compassion.

2. Supporting education. Advocating for educational systems that uphold moral integrity and provide holistic development for children and youth.

3. Promoting reconciliation. Working toward healing and unity among diverse groups, fostering communities where biblical values are lived out in practical ways.

Educating and Mobilizing Others

Prophetic voices have a responsibility to educate and mobilize others, inspiring collective action towards justice and righteousness. This involves:

1. Raising awareness. Informing communities about social and political issues from a biblical perspective and highlighting the importance of aligning actions with divine principles.

2. Equipping believers. Providing resources and training to help believers engage thoughtfully and effectively in public discourse and political processes.

3. Inspiring collective action. Encouraging communities to take unified action in support of biblical values, promoting a culture of righteousness and justice.

The call to prophetic engagement is a call to action. It is a call to rise above complacency, to speak truth to power and to work tirelessly for a society that honors the divine vision of justice, compassion and freedom. In this critical time, prophetic individuals must courageously confront the ideologies and policies that undermine biblical values, and also lead the nation back to its righteous foundations.

Let us embrace this sacred responsibility, knowing our efforts are not in vain. As we stand for truth and righteousness, we participate in the divine work of transforming societies and bringing about a world that reflects the justice, compassion and freedom of God.

Defeating Procrastination

It’s been said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.”

The biggest thief of our dreams is procrastination. We can think about doing the right thing, plan to do it and talk about doing it, but nothing changes at all until we start consistently doing what we need to do!

Perhaps you are struggling with bad habits that are holding you back. You’d like to change, but you’re not sure you want to change. Someone once said said bad habits are like a comfortable bed; they’re easy to get into, but hard to get out of.

But think of it this way: Are you willing to sacrifice and do the more challenging thing now so you can enjoy a life of freedom later on?

Hebrews 12:11 (NIV) tells us, “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”

The irony is that we are often unwilling to suffer even for a short while just to do what needs to be done. Then we end up with lingering misery, dread, guilt and the penalties of having put off something that would have taken a few minutes or a few hours to do.

By putting off the pain of doing something hard, we often spend much more time avoiding it than it would take to just do it.

Nothing feels better to me than knowing I am doing my best, making the best choices I can make and consistently making progress toward the best life God has for me.

If you try to rationalize this somehow, it makes no sense. If you read and believe the Bible, world events are becoming quite clear. The problem is that the answers to these questions are not logical ones, but those that have spiritual roots and biblical promises foretold by the prophets.

What Exactly Did Biblical Prophets Foretell?

Let’s put aside the twisted media reports, biased social media influencers and cunningly edited Instagram reels. What specifically does God promise in Scripture?

God has made an everlasting covenant between Himself, the Jewish people and a certain piece of land. Forever. That includes today (Gen. 15:17).

One of the most repeated promises in Scripture is that God will return His people back to this land. It is repeated by almost every prophet in the Bible, most notably in Jeremiah 31. It’s happening right now and has no equal in human history between an ancient people group and its historical homeland.

When the Jewish people return, Israel will no longer be two kingdoms but one nation (Ezek. 37). No other sovereign nation today is called by the same name, resides on the same land and is speaking the same language as it was 3,000 years ago.

Joni Lamb: Taking God’s Hand Amid Life’s Storms

The man was now certain he was drowning, going under forever. And to think, mere moments ago he was full of courage, stepping out in faith and obeying his master’s call to come. A miracle was taking place before his very eyes. Not only was his master walking on the water, but he was too!

But then something else happened. His eyes shifted away from the one calling him and onto the storm raging all around. Wind whipped and waves hammered as pounding pellets of rain slapped his face. He was sinking fast and fought frantically to keep his head above the turbulence. Fear was engulfing him along with the sea. But surely he could trust his master? Surely He wouldn’t call him out of the boat only to let him drown. Surely?

With one final, desperate lunge before submerging into the depths, the man screamed, “Lord, save me!” If he could but cling to his master’s hand, he knew he would be safe at last. “Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him.” Jesus told the man, now safely in His grip, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matt. 14:30-31, MEV).

Stormy Weather

I’m sure most of you are familiar with this Bible story. The disciples were in their boat crossing the Sea of Galilee after Jesus had given them unmistakable instructions to go, and He would meet them on the other side. They were simply obeying His word when in the wee hours of the morning, a violent storm blew in, catching them off guard. With no satellites to predict the weather, this was common on the Middle Eastern seas. Wind and rain beat against the boat, tossing it back and forth. The sail was likely twisted, and the vessel taking on water.

Everything in the external pointed to them going down. But off in the distant darkness, they see a figure, perhaps glowing, walking toward them on the sea. A different kind of fear grips them as they assume it’s a ghost. And it wasn’t their imagination because they all saw it. However, as the ethereal form drew closer, it became clearer—Jesus.

Chris Reed Provides Update Following MorningStar Resignation

Chris Reed released a statement in a newly uploaded video to YouTube about his resignation with MorningStar Ministries.

“Hello friends, family, just come to you tonight in response to regards to a couple of things. No. 1, there seemed to have been some confusion over my departure from MorningStar,” Reed says.

He continues: “My departure from MorningStar was what I said in the letter to the department heads and to the staff and volunteers, which was this: I said I did not want to be leading the ministry that would be in a case against four victims who were abused as children by a former volunteer of the ministry, who is a policeman as well.”

50 Essential Items to Stockpile for Uncertain Times

Are you getting prepared? Right now, millions of Americans are stockpiling food and supplies in anticipation of what they believe is coming. People are on edge due to the approaching election, the rapidly escalating war in the Middle East, the alarming natural disasters that we have been witnessing all around the world, and the potential for another great global pandemic.

In all my years, I have never seen more concern about the next 12 months as I am seeing at this moment. There is a growing consensus that major history changing events are about to happen, and there are lots and lots of people that want to be well prepared. In fact, Newsweek has reported that “doomsday prepping” has become a $ billion industry.

These days, many local supermarkets carry emergency food right on their store shelves, and I think that is a great thing.

10 Reasons Our Pulpits Are Polluted

I was recently with a friend (whom I will leave nameless) who said his city is in such a mess because “the pulpits are polluted!” When he said this, I immediately began to think and pray about the implications and reasons for this strong statement. Upon reflection, I found his statement to be true based on conversations I have had with numerous leaders across the globe.

The following are 10 reasons there is pollution in some pulpits today:

1. The pastor has an unholy union with politicians. In Scripture, we have numerous examples of how religious leaders compromised their faith and obedience to God for the sake of political favor and access. In Amos 7:12-13, Amaziah, the priest, commanded the prophet Amos to stop prophesying at Bethel because it was the king’s sanctuary and a temple of the kingdom. In 1 Kings 22, we see how all the prophets only prophesied what King Ahab wanted to hear, except Micaiah, the prophet. Also, all the chief priests conspired to put Jesus to death when they said that they had no king but Caesar, thus aligning themselves with the Roman emperor over the Lord of the universe (John 19:15).

5 Ways the Bible Instructs Us to Embrace Rest

While Labor Day may appear to just be another holiday on the calendar for many of us, the concept of rest is something few of us resonate with well. However, the Bible makes it clear: Rest is necessary in order for us to keep running the race of faith well. Here are five biblical principles about rest that Christians should consider as we walk out this journey with Christ.

God is our perfect example of rest.

If the Creator of heaven and earth Himself rested, then we should follow His example.

“Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it He had rested from all His work which He had created and made” (Gen. 2:3).

God rested after creating everything that exists, and it was this seventh day that He considered holy. That’s no coincidence. Like our heavenly Father, we must take the time to rest. It is in this rest where we can most clearly seek His presence and holiness.

Breaking News. Spirit-Filled Stories. Subscribe to Charisma on YouTube now!

Without rest, you will not have the capacity to do all that God has in store for your destiny.

All of us require rest at some point. If we do not rest, our level of excellence will decrease, and burnout is sure to knock at the door. Elijah is a great example of someone who had allowed fear to take over after seeing the Lord make Himself known to the people of Israel. He confronted the prophets of Baal, and the Lord showed up, but Elijah became fearful of Jezebel.

One of the things the Lord did to restore Elijah so he could continue with his purpose was quite simple: He sent an angel to feed Elijah so he could continue the race.

As he lay and slept under the juniper tree, an angel touched him and said to him, ‘Arise and eat.’ He looked and there was a cake baked on coals and a jar of water at his head. And he ate and drank and then lay down again.

The angel of the LORD came again a second time and touched him and said, ‘Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.’ He arose and ate and drank and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mountain of God (1 Kings 19: 5-8).

It wasn’t long after this when Elijah met Elisha, who would be his successor and have an even greater portion of anointing than Elijah.

Resting allows God to do the miraculous.

Resting in God by trusting that He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, allows Him to do what only He can do. Sometimes the greatest kind of obedience we can have is to be still and know that He is God (Ps. 46:10).

God does everything in His perfect timing and will. If we do not rest and leave our concerns in His hands, we will miss out on the greatness of His perfect plan.

Get your FREE CHARISMA NEWSLETTERS today! Stay up to date with current issues, Holy Spirit news, Christian teachings, Charisma videos & more!

Psalm 46:10 reminds not only to be still, but it reaffirms the glory that God deserves. “I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Psalm 37:7-8 tells us to “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of those who make wicked schemes. Let go of anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret—it surely leads to evil deeds.”

When we rest in the Lord, trusting that He has us in the palm of His hands, we can be assured that He will move on our behalf.

— The Sabbath was made for us.

We can easily become religious about taking the Sabbath like the Pharisees were. However, God didn’t create it to pigeonhole us; He made it for our benefit.

When the Pharisees became angry at Jesus for allowing the disciples to pluck the heads of grain, He reminded that God is still in charge even on the Sabbath, and religious striving is not what He is after.

“Then He said to them, ‘The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath’ (Mark 2:27-28).

— Rest is essential for going deeper in our relationship with Jesus.

If we want to grow in our relationship with Christ, we have no choice but to rest in Him and with Him. Sometimes rest includes doing less of the hustle and bustle and more time reading the Word, worshipping and praying. If we never unplug to the world, how can we ever expect God to speak more to us?

To pre-order Kenza Haddock’s new book, “The Three Enemies of Your Mental Health,” visit .

Jesus promised to be the living water that we need, the one who can sustain us through everything and is all-sufficient for us.

“Jesus answered her, ‘If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water” (John 4:10).

Will It Take a Crisis Like Ukraine in US to Call Our Nation Back to God?

Amid Europe’s bloodiest conflict since World War II, evangelical churches in Ukraine tell a story that boggles the mind.

In the nation’s war-ravaged occupied territories, more than 120 churches lie in ruins. Their pastors have either been killed or fled for their lives.

Elsewhere in Ukraine, though, new churches are springing up, filled with families and individuals asking, “Is there any real hope here?”

At a time when Americans’ interest in attending church is at an all-time low, Ukraine is experiencing a spiritual renewal born out of crisis and calamity.

In recent months, some 7,000 people have been baptized in Ukraine’s evangelical churches as hunger for the gospel spreads. Evangelical seminaries and Bible colleges are full, training 2,000 enthusiastic, young undergraduates. About 300 new Ukrainian pastors were ordained in the past year alone.

Contrast those numbers with what’s happening in America.

Breaking News. Spirit-Filled Stories. Subscribe to Charisma on YouTube now!

In the past 25 years, 40 million Americans have stopped going to church, and only 3 in 10 now regularly attend services, according to polls.

Ukrainians are attracted to church, while many Americans are heading out the church doors.

 Why?

As president of Illinois-based Slavic Gospel Association, I’ve observed how the war has exposed a God-sized hole in the lives of many Ukrainians.

Once skeptical of “empty” and ritualistic religion they considered pointless, Ukrainians are seeing faith in God through a different lens—seeing with their own eyes how their Christian neighbors who have lived through the horrors of war with them are enduring sorrow, suffering and even death with hope that defies all human reasoning.

Suffering through war is turning Ukrainians toward the living faith they see displayed in local believers’ acts of mercy every day—pastors and their congregations visiting the bereaved and praying with them, delivering free groceries and home-cooked meals to strangers, even willingly risking their own lives to comfort those living near the frontline and share the gospel with them.

These local churches are truly centers of hope and refuge for people who’ve lost everything and have nowhere to turn. Many of those attending the churches are there for one reason only—they’ve been touched by the love of Christ through the in-the-trenches compassion of believers. They know God’s love is real because they’ve experienced it personally.

My friend Pastor Igor and his church members go to bed every night to the sound of menacing drones and missile explosions, not knowing if they will wake up the next morning. Some will not live to see the sunrise. That’s their reality, and they must cling to God every single day.

Will it take a crisis like Ukraine in the U.S. to call our nation back to God?

One day, we in America and the West may well face the challenges our brothers and sisters in Ukraine endure now.

Will we face those times with the same zeal, courage and living faith that attracts others to Christ? Or will we run and hide?

What is happening in and through the local churches in Ukraine today is our example of what courageous and genuine Christ-followers do when the pressure is on and everything is thrown into turmoil.

It’s the full-throttle, living faith that speaks to people’s hearts and gives them the desire to be among believers who shine with hope’s light.

One thing is sure. Our Ukrainian brothers and sisters are cheering us on, leading us by their example of loving service—a love that is forever hope.

The Deception of Pride in Politics

In my last article about our political divide, I wrote, “Political views bring out the best and the worst in us. I know I’m a work in progress myself. Christians must repent of their pride and anger, and the church must unite in submission to God before our country faces devastating damages from which it may never recover.”

Most of us have heard this before: “The pride in others I can easily see, but praise God there’s none in me.”

We smile at this statement because we realize just how true it is. Pride is said to be the only disease that others can spot except the one who is contaminated by it.

Pride Has Slain Its Ten Thousands

Pride is an elevated view of self, abilities, possessions or political party. As a result of pride, we become cynical, arrogant and indifferent to the needs of others. We brag and boast about what we have or what we do.

In short, we think more highly of ourselves than we should. Pride has slain more prophets than persecution ever did.

Pride is deceptive as well as dangerous. Proverbs 16:18 warns us that “pride goes before destruction,” which means it causes ruin, pain and conflict.

Pride kills marriages, harms parenting, fractures relationships and mutes the voice of God. James 4:6 reminds us that God resists us when we are proud, and Obadiah 1:3 declares that pride deceives us. Not good.

Breaking News. Spirit-Filled Stories. Subscribe to Charisma on YouTube now!

Too Proud to Yield

Pride also causes stubbornness, which often leads to disaster. I’m reminded of a story that I read on a sermon illustration website that illustrates this perfectly.

In the summer of 1986, two ships collided in the Black Sea off the coast of Russia. Hundreds of passengers died as they were hurled into the icy waters.

News of the disaster was further darkened when an investigation revealed the cause of the accident. It wasn’t a technology problem like radar malfunction or even thick fog. The cause was human stubbornness. Each captain was aware of the other ship’s presence nearby.

Both could have steered clear, but according to news reports, neither captain wanted to give way to the other. Each was too proud to yield first.

This is what’s wrong with both political parties: They need to yield to the principles in God’s Word. The Republicans may have many good principles, but are they humble and gracious? Are they pursuing God and truly loving others? The Democrats talk about loving and helping their neighbors while at the same time pushing Planned Parenthood and Drag Queen Story Hours.

Pride Brings Shame

The book of Proverbs has much to say about this as well. Proverbs 29:23 (NKJV) says, “A man’s pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor.” Proverbs 11:2 declares, “When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom.” In Proverbs, wisdom and honor are related to humility, and shame and foolishness are related to pride.

Isaiah 57:15 says God dwells with him “who has a contrite and lowly spirit.” He revives the spirit of the lowly and the heart of the contrite. Do you want to know God and His will better? Then humble yourself today.

How to Break Free of Pride’s Deception

In “Brokenness: The Heart God Revives,” Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth gives a powerful example of the disease of pride when she quotes a woman named Gwyn:

I was known as a leader at my church. I was at the church every time the doors were open. It was important to me to have everyone notice me and what I was doing. I was extremely self-righteous and thought that I was more spiritual than others. Others had needs, but not Gwyn Stanford. Others needed revival, but not I!

Right in the middle of religion, I was so very far away from God.

How about you? Has pride drawn you away from God and obedience to His Word? Are you worshipping patriotism and idolizing politics? If so, these four steps will put you back on the right path:

  1. Acknowledge that pride has filled your heart and repent. Because prideful people have a hard time spotting it in their own lives, ask God to reveal areas of pride in your heart.
  2. Make restitution and apologize if warranted.
  3. Stay in a position of humility each day by praying and reading God’s Word. Pray specifically that the Holy Spirit would use God’s Word to reveal any areas where pride has put down roots.
  4. Consider a season of prayer and fasting to kill carnality and punch pride.

Don’t lose heart; you will be amazed at what God does with humility, brokenness and repentance.

The Bible says, “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up” (James 4:10). Take this opportunity now to turn to Him, completely, unconditionally and without delay.

The only hope for our nation is a mighty downpour of God’s Spirit in response to His people humbling themselves.
